I have set up QT designer with pycharm and am able to load the GUI builder. However when I then save the file as the UI and then convert it to .PY as stated using the PYuic. when I try to run this to test it, nothing happens. it says it ran but no GUI box appeared. please see attached to see that I have done it properly.
please see the code attached that's generated by the Designer...

My problem is that i installed QT Designer and also implemented QT as an external tool in my Pycharm. This means I can open QT by pressing Tools --> External Tools --> QTdesigner. I created a little test UI and safed it in my Projectdirectory. Now I convert this .ui file with pyside2-uic.exe. I posted this as a picture.
Now i can rightclick on my .ui file in my Project and choose under External Tools the PyUIC. It builds a .py file. So far so good. Here is my problem. Now I press run but nothing happens. I canĀ“t start the UI from here. What did I do wrong?
My project unlike this issue is going through MSVC and I'm having troubles with nmake. Is there a way to just see what commands Qt Creator uses when I press Ctrl+R?
Simply click down on the "Compile Output" pane, and it will show you the exact commands that are issued to build the project.
How can I import these code examples into QT Creator 3.4.0 ? I tried the available import options but they don't work.
I tried to create an empty QML project and add the rectangle.qml file to it. When I tried to run it, nothing showed up.
The book examples contain files .qmlproject - which seems to be a project descriptor. I wonder if it is somehow possible to import these .qmlproject files into QT Creator, click and run the examples.
I think this link might help in finding the solution : https://forum.qt.io/topic/27525/what-is-qmlproject-file/3 .
Usually I'd say that you should go to File > Open File or Project... and select the .qmlproject and you're done, but support for this type of project file was disabled by default. If you try to do this now (I believe the change is in Creator 3.4), you'll just get an error message about Creator not supporting the mime type of the file, or something. Unfortunately, this is not a very useful error message for a beginner, and it won't tell you how to fix the problem.
If you want to use .qmlproject files in newer versions of Creator, you have to navigate to Help > About Plugins... and enable the QmlProjectManager plugin (it's under the Qt Quick section) by checking the box.
So this is how you should normally open project files in Qt Creator. As for the window not showing up, that's also commonly encountered and can be fixed by making the root item in your scene a Window:
Unlike QQuickView, QQmlApplicationEngine does not automatically create a root window. If you are using visual items from Qt Quick, you will need to place them inside of a Window.
Qt Creator's new project wizard handles this for you when you create a new Qt Quick project, as you saw when you got the "Hello World" window to open in your video. It was when you loaded concepts/rectangle.qml which had a Rectangle as its root item, that it stopped showing up. That QML file was likely used in a project where a QQuickView was displaying it.
So i created a javafx project, it has 3 packages, application, controller, and an images package that holds all the images im using. The program runs fine if i just compile and run, no errors. However, when i create a jar from it, by selecting the build.fxbuild, everything goes smoothly and it tells me it is successful but when i try to double click the jar file nothing opens but java starts running in the background until i force close it. Im running OSX yosemite, and im on java 1.8 if that helps at all. I've tried making the jar through the export option but it doesnt run either and just says that it cant open the file. The weird thing is i made another javafx project just to see if it would work, same settings but just something simple, a window that pops up and says a line, then exported to a jar by clicking build.fxbuild and when i double click the jar it made it works perfectly.
I'm at a loss for what is preventing my other javafx project from working as a jar file and the other similar posts ive found on here haven't solved it either. Any ideas?
I am totally new to Qt development. Infact today's my first day! I installed Qt 5.3.1 open source (LGPL license). I was looking around in the Qt Creator and accidentally closed several sub-windows and not able to view the actual code, other list of opened files, etc. But it does load the project and also executes when I click the green 'Run' button. How do I recover the default layout? There is no window layout/View option in the menu. Can't see anything online! Please help...
Qt Creator creates some files to save the settings. These files are in different location in different operating systems.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7 :
<drive>:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\QtProject and <drive>:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\QtProject
On Linux :
~/.config/QtProject and ~/.local/share/data/QtProject/qtcreator
Try to delete QtCreator.ini and many settings including the layout are reset to default when you reopen Qt Creator.
Alt+0 will show project tree. Use ctrl+k to open search window.
