Delay emitted observable values depending on the value of another observable - redux

I am using forkJoin to wait for the completion of 4 observables. With the last emitted values from each, I use switchMap to trigger some NgRx actions (ConfiguratorLoaded, GetProjectMembers, SwitchOrganization):

I have another observable loaded$ which is of type Observable<boolean>and not in the code example above.
How can I get the 3 NgRx actions to be triggered when loaded$ has the value true and not before? As long as loaded$ has the value false, the actions should not be triggered. So it's kind of a pause.

If I understand correctly, you should be able to do this:
combineLatest([

filter(([loaded]) => Boolean(loaded)),

The combineLatest will re-emit each time the this.loaded$ stream emits.
If this.loaded$ emits false, the filter will skip processing the switchMap.
If this.loaded$ emits true, the filter will continue and process the switchMap.
This then effectively "waits" until this.loaded$ is true before it executes your NgRx actions.

How to have a Subject as a payload in an immutable Ngrx action?

Use case: dispatch an action with a cold observable in the payload.
When an effect catches the action, it subscribes (through mergeMap, switchMap, whatever...) to this observable and send back another action. Classic Ngrx process.

Usage:

It works well.
But if this observable is a Subject (say MatDialog.open().afterClosed()) it will break the immutable action Ngrx rule.
Because of the inner subscription, the Subject adds an observer into its internal structure, thus breaking the action immutability. It then triggers the Ngrx runtime checks.
Of course I can disable these check, but I am looking for a better away around this. For example, is there a way to clone a Subject ?
Or any other way to allow a Subject into the action payload ?
AFAIK adding a subject to a NgRx Action isn't supported (if you want to keep the runtime checks enabled).
The classic NgRx process is that the effect results in a new action (popular ones are success and failure).

Is it possible to destroy firestore listeners soon if client is not connected? [duplicate]

Is there any way to pause firestore listener without removing it?
I have multiple firebase listeners, some are dependent on other, that changes or start other listeners on data change. Lets say my first listener starts a second listener its onSnapshot. First listener started on useEffect. For certain condition I may not want to change the second listener, so I need to discard data change update from first listener.
If condition met (button click), I discard data changes on first listener for a few moments. Currently I'm doing this using a boolean with useRef. My react app is working fine, with dependant listeners like this. I could remove the listener but I do not want to remove and recreate the listener.
I was wondering if there is a pausing mechanism or method available for any listener. I think it will save a tiny read cost if there was such a method because I'm not using that data sent onSnapshot.

Unfortunately this is not possible. If you need to stop listening for changes, even temporarily, you have to detach your listener and attach a new one when you want to start listening again, there is no pause mechanism for listeners.
You could open a Feature Request in Google's Issue Tracker if you'd like so that the product team can consider this, but given that this has already been proposed in this GitHub Feature Request for the IOS SDK and it was rejected I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Meteor with Angular2 , Fetching all entries from a collection in single shot

I have successfully integeraed meteor with angular2 but while fetching the data from collection facing difficulties in getting at one shot, here is the steps:

In this lines attribute fetches all the collection entries, but fails to subscribe for the changes
When I try with below one,

In this am able to subscribe for the collection changes, but the results are looped for 1000 times , as 1000 entries in the colleciton.
Is there any way to get the whole collection entries in one single shot and mean time to subscribe the changes in the collection ?.
Yes, there are a couple of ways you can do it, mostly depending on how you want to handle the data.
If having everything at once is important, then use a Method such as:

Now, if you want to listen to changes, ofcourse you'll have to do a subscription, and if you want to lower the amount of subscriptions, use rxjs' debounceTime() function, such as (from your code):
this.theData.debounceTime(400).subscribe(value => ...., err =>)
This will wait a certain amount of time before subscribing to that collection.
Now, based on your intent: listening to changes and getting everything at once, you can combine both approaches, not the most efficient but can be effective.
As #Rager explained, observables are close to streams, so when you populate data on miniMongo (front end collection you use when you find() data and is populated when you subscribe to publications) it will start incrementing until the collection is in sync.
Since miniMongo is populated when you subscribe to a publication, and not when you query a cursor, you could either:
Try the debouceTime() approach
Use a Meteor.Method after subscribing to the publication, then sync both results, keeping the first response from the method as your starting point, and then using data from Collection.find().subscribe(collectionArray => ..., err=>) to do whatterver you want to do when changes apply (not that recommended, unless you have a specific use case for this)
Also, .zone() function is specific to force re-render on Angular's event cycle. I'd recomend not use it if you're processing the collections' data instead of rendering it on a ngFor* loop. And if you're using an ngFor* loop, use the async pipe instead ngFor="let entry of Collection | async"
I don't think that's possible. When you subscribe to an Observable it handles values as a "stream", not necessarily a loop. I have seen some makeshift helper methods that handle the data synchronously, though the time it takes to subscribe is not decreased. Check out this article for an under the hood look... A simple Observable implementation
However, you can set it up to only loop once.
The way that I've been setting up that scenario, the collection only gets looped through one time (in the constructor when the app starts) and detects changes in the collection. In your case it would look like:

Wait for sequence of action with a Redux Observable

I have a use case where I need to wait for a sequence of actions before I dispatch another using Redux Observables. I've seen some similar questions but I cannot fathom how I can use these approaches for my given use case.
In essence I want to do something like so:

Great question. The important point is that action$ is a hot/multicast stream of all actions as they are dispatched (it's a Subject). Since it's hot we can combine it multiple times and they'll all be listening to the same stream of actions.

So every time we receive PAGINATION_CLICKED we'll start listening to that inner Observable chain that listens for a single FETCH_SUCCESS. It's important to have that .take(1) because otherwise we'd continue to listen for more than one FETCH_SUCCESS which might cause strange bugs and even if not is just generally best practice to only take what you need.
We use takeUntil to cancel waiting for FETCH_SUCCESS if we receive FETCH_ERROR first.
As a bonus, if you decide you want also to do some analytics stuff based on the error too, not only start over, you can use race to indeed race between the two streams. First one to emit, wins; the other is unsubscribed.

Here's the same thing, but using race as an instance operator instead of the static one. This is a stylistic preference you can choose. They both do the same thing. Use whichever one is more clear to you.

Issue with clearing state from an ngrx/redux store when the user logs out

My application uses ngrx/rxjs. I rely on an ngrx effect in order to signout and clear state from the store.
Unfortunately, because one of my components subscribes to the store through a selector (see below: getLatestMessagesByCounterParty) and because the state is cleared before this component is destroyed, I get the following error:
ERROR TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of null
at getCurrentUserAccountId
... indicating that the currentUserAccount is null, which is quite logical since I have just cleared the state from the store.

As #cgatian said, you might use a filter. But here's what would happen behind the scene with that code :

You'd first dispatch an action ClearMessagesAction(null).
Then that action will be handled by your reducer.
___A new state will be produced
___Your selectors will be triggered right after
___An error will occur because you end up with an inconsistent store (as you expect that the other action ClearUserAccountAction(null) was dispatched as the same time and before the selectors kick in)
What you should do to avoid state inconsistency, is either :
- Create one action that you handle in both reducers. This way, your reducers will both be modified and only then, selectors will kick in
- Use a library that allows you to dispatch multiples actions as one (like redux-batched-actions). This way you could write something like that :
