I have a container with a padding of 5 (p-5) applied to it.
However, I want the padding to be removed automatically when on a small screen without writing more CSS only using the bootstrap classes.
<div class="container-fluid text-center p-5">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-4 d-none d-sm-none d-md-none d-lg-block">
<accordion />
</div>
</div>
</div>
You can use the .d-sm-none class on the div containing the padding to hide it on small screens:
<div class="container-fluid text-center p-5 d-sm-none">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-4 d-none d-md-none d-lg-block">
<accordion />
</div>
</div>
</div>
The .d-sm-none class will make the div hide on "small" sized screens or smaller, which means the 5px padding will be removed on these screens.
Best!

I am working on an angular project where I am getting the data in image and title and location. I tried to make a responsive div but unable to make them in one size.
<div *ngFor="let company of companies" class="col-xl-2 col-lg-3 col-md-4 col-sm-6 col-12">
<div class="card">
<div class="card-content">
<div class="card-body py-0 text-center">
<input [checked]="true" type="radio" formControlName="scope" (click)="nextFormPostion(nextFormPostionName)" (change)="nextFormPostion(nextFormPostionName)" id="img{{company.scope}}" class="d-none imgbgchk" value="{{company.scope}}">
<label for="img{{company.scope}}">
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="col-12" style="height: 6rem ; display:table-cell; vertical-align: middle;">
<img src="{{company.logo}}" class="mt-1 img-fluid mh-100" alt="Image 1">
</div>
<div class="col-12 mt-2" style="min-height: 3rem;font-size: 12px;text-transform: none;">
<span>{{company.company}}</span>
</div>
<div class="col-12 mt-1" style="min-height: 2.5rem;font-size: 12px;text-transform: none;">
<span>{{company.country}}</span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="tick_container">
<div class="tick"><i class="fa fa-check"></i></div>
</div>
</label>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
company.logo is the image path and company.company is the name of the company. I want to make image in vertical and horizontal align center and if company name length is new line it change the size of all divs.
You don't need bootstrap exactly to do that you can use JavaScript to get the div side you want and apply as width + height.
Also you can use CSS with, for example:
width: 100%
The first thing you need to check if you have any border, margin, padding that is affecting your code. I don't know, I don't have enough information. But I believe it could be because Bootstrap puts automatic padding on .row
For this you can put
<div class="row g-0">
</div>
Bootstrap 5 - No gutters
Or if it is in another element, simply add the px-0 class that removes the padding from the widths.
I'm trying to create a full screen layout that takes up 100% of the viewport with a sticky header and footer, and individually scrollable columns in the main content area.
I've experimented with using .h-100 and .flex-grow-1 on various rows and columns but I can't quite get it to work. The closest I've come is to add h-100 to the container and the middle row, but that pushes the footer off the bottom of the screen.
<body>
<div class="container-fluid h-100">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-12 border">Navbar </div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-2 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">Sidebar </div>
<div class="col-4 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">Article list </div>
<div class="col-6 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">Article content </div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-12 border">Footer </div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
I can get it to work with just a single column, but adding more than 1 column breaks the layout in a way I don't understand.
Make the container d-flex and then use flex-grow-1 to make the content area fill the height. You'll also want to use flex-shrink-0 on the Navbar and Footer so they don't "squish" in height.
<div class="container-fluid h-100 d-flex flex-column">
<div class="row flex-shrink-0">
<div class="col-12 border">Navbar </div>
</div>
<div class="row flex-grow-1">
<div class="col-2 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">Sidebar </div>
<div class="col-4 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">
Article list
</div>
<div class="col-6 border" style="overflow-y: scroll;">Article content </div>
</div>
<div class="row flex-shrink-0">
<div class="col-12 border">Footer </div>
</div>
</div>

Use remaining vertical space with Bootstrap 4
Bootstrap 4.0 - responsive header with image + navbar + full-height body
I'm using bootstrap 4 and trying to create a layout. The problem I'm having is with the responsive.
When the page size gets smaller I want the right-nav to go under the left-nav. The problem I run into is when the main body runs longer than the left nav. The right nave always goes under the main body, is there a way to force it under the left-nav without the space in between?
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="row pt-5 pl-3 pr-3">
<div id="left-nav" class="d-none d-sm-none d-md-block col-md-4 col-lg-3 col-xl-2">
...
</div>
<div id="main-body" class="col-12 col-sm-12 col-md-8 col-lg-9 col-xl-8">
...
</div>
<div id="right-nav" class="d-none d-sm-none d-md-block col-md-3 col-lg-3 col-xl-2">
...
</div>
</div>
<section id="footer" class="footer">
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Since Bootstrap 4 uses flexbox, cols across a row are always going to be the equal height (set by the height of the tallest).
You can workaround this by "disabling" flexbox at certain breakpoints using d-(breakpoint)-block on the row. By making the row display:block instead display:flex, floats can now be used to float cols to the right or left.
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="row pt-5 d-md-block d-xl-flex">
<div id="left-nav" class="d-sm-none d-md-block col-md-4 col-lg-3 col-xl-2 border float-left">
left
</div>
<div id="main-body" class="col-md-8 col-lg-9 col-xl-8 border taller float-right">
main
</div>
<div id="right-nav" class="d-sm-none d-md-block col-md-4 col-lg-3 col-xl-2 border">
right
</div>
</div>
</div>

How to fix unexpected column order in bootstrap 4?
How to make this column ignore the vertical space
I want to have a image at left and at right some information. This information div at right have a orange border around. And I want that this information area occupies the same height of the image. So i created a div .details with display flex and align-items stretch. But its not working, the image and the information area dont occupy the same width. Do you know why?
example: https://jsfiddle.net/wjvwovy2/
html:
<div class="container py-4">
<div class="row">
<div class="details">
<div class="col-8 px-0" style="background-color: red">
<img style="width: 100%" src="http://via.placeholder.com/700x350"/>
</div>
<div class="col-4 px-0">
<div class="details-title d-flex flex-column align-items-start">
<span class="font-size-sm font-weight-semi-bold">Date</span>
<h1 class="h5 font-weight-bold">Title</h1>
<span class="details-title-subtitle font-size-sm font-weight-bold">Subtitle</span>
Subtitle2
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
This is because you have applied the visual styles in a descendant which is not a direct child of the .details element. There are several ways to fix this, depending on what you are trying to achieve.
A quick one is to apply d-flex class in <div class="col-4 px-0"> and flex-grow: 1 in <div class="details-title d-flex flex-column align-items-start">.

In your fiddle it's just the closing bracket of details-title in the CSS which is missing:

Using Bootstrap 4 Alpha 6. I have the following markup:
<header class="jumbotron jumbotron-fluid">
<div class="container">
<div class="row justify-content-center flex-column-reverse flex-sm-row">
<div class="col-12 col-sm-6">
<h1 class="display-4">
<a class="border-0" href="/#v">Vic</a>
</h1>
<p class="lead mb-100">We utilize a default z-index scale in Bootstrap that’s been designed to properly layer navigation, tooltips and popovers, modals, and more.</p>
<p>
<svg>...</svg>Boston, MA, US<br>
</p>
</div>
<div class="col-12 col-sm-2">
<a class="border-0" href="/#v">
<img class="d-flex rounded-circle avatar--m" alt="Random Name" src="/system/profiles/avatars/000/000/001/avatar_m/firefox-copy-link.jpg?1489589655">
</a> </div>
</div>
</div>
</header>
which produces the following result on mobile and desktop respectively:
Mobile
Desktop
The desktop version currently looks perfect. How do I center the image on mobile only?
You can use the Bootstrap 4 responsive margin utils on the image. Use mx-auto to center, and then mx-sm-0 to keep normal margins on sm an up.
<img class="d-flex rounded-circle mx-auto mx-sm-0" src="//placehold.it/80">
