Create custom route in Wordpress plugin - wordpress

I would like to create a wordpress plugin that provide a PDF export for custom posts.
So, I created my wordpress plugin. Then, I want to declare a new route like /export/{id}.
In this route, I will call WP_QUERY to retrieve the post data, build the PDF et return it to the user.
I tried lot of things to create the route but it's not working like I want.
I tried add_rewrite_rule but I think it's not exactly what i need.
Also something to create a rest route but I do not need a REST endpoint.
Also I tried something like this with parse_request action:
$url = strtok($_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"],'?');
if ($url == '/export') {
echo "test"
This working when I go to /export, but, this page is not under Wordpress authentication and WP_QUERY returns me that I need to be authenticated to get the post data.
How can I simply create a Wordpress page in my plugin that is under Wordpress authentication ?

Creating personalized URLs (PURLs) in Wordpress

I need to create a site that will allow for a unique user-identifying number to go in be appended to the URL.
So for instance
test.com/12345/about/
will load the page with slug 'about' (not redirect to it).
I have tried the following:
function custom_rewrite_basic() {
add_rewrite_rule('^([0-9]+)/', '/$matches[1]', 'bottom');
}
add_action('init', 'custom_rewrite_basic');
But it does not work, any prefix to the URL redirects the page with or without the block of code above.
So in my tests
test.com/23423423/about will re-direct to test.com/about which is not what I want.
Is what I am trying to achieve possible? If so, could anyone offer advice as to how I would best go about implementing it?

Wordpress Form Submit button GETS (or POSTS) form data to external page

We have a wordpress website that does marketing display, but now we want to allow a customer to submit an email and selection to a separate website with a landing page that will handle the backend DB work and finish them in the other website.
Something like,
www.ourmarket.com/getdata (on Submit button click GETS to...)
www.ouradminsite/landingpage.aspx (which processes the data that the use will not see then...)
www.ouradminsite/login.aspx (where the user can now login)
I am not familiar with WP at all, but I was able to create a page with a form that has the textbox/combobox I need.
I thought it would be something simple, but somehow it seems not. I read about AJAX and doing something in functions.php and creating a custom .js file, but when working on the marketing site I find no way to add this type of function in.
My fall back is to have the WP page just have a link to a generic landing page where they enter data, but it would be visually jarring to the customer unless I duplicate the WP site for one page.
Is there an easy way to just tell WP to redirect to an external page with a GET?
UPDATE--------------
I like to think I'm making progress. I found a link that may have given me a good start. I added a function to the functions.php file located in my WP theme. It starts like this:
add_action("gform_post_submission_4", "set_post_content", 10, 2);
function set_post_content($entry, $form){
//Gravity Forms has validated the data
//Our Custom Form Submitted via PHP will go here
// Lets get the IDs of the relevant fields and prepare an email message
$message = print_r($entry, true);
// In case any of our lines are larger than 70 characters, we should use wordwrap()
$message = wordwrap($message, 70);
// Send
mail('myuser#mycompany.com', 'Getting the Gravity Form Field IDs', $message);
**wp_redirect("http://my.hearbuilder.com/hellomoto.aspx",301);**
}
From there I tried to edit the function to do that wp_redirect, just a simple one to start. This is added under the mail statement:
wp_redirect("http://my.hearbuilder.com/hellomoto.aspx",301);
From this link, when I fill out the form I can get the email, but the new page did not display. I added the exit; line and still got the same result, the page seems like it hangs.
The end result is that I need to have the new website landing page display (after it processes the data from the Wordpress form.
What am I still missing?
yes use wp_redirect()
if($_POST):
$textbox=$_POST['textboxname'];
$url= 'url'.'?custom=hello&textbox='.$textbox.'&anothervalue='.$anothervalue;
wp_redirect($url);
exit;
endif;
you can easily add the variables to the string as needed. The easiest way to control the url properly is to post the information to the same page , catch the post and redirect (place before get_header call or any output has started)
The other way is php Curl which is more difficult esp when dealing with .asp pages, but if you have access to the other server it makes figuring it out easier!

Rewrite category wordpress

Is it possible to rewrite only one category ?
I have a category "Photos" and just for this category.
I just want to rewrite it from /category/photos to /photos
You can do it with WP Rewrite API.
Add this to functions.php
add_action('init', 'register_rewrites');
function register_rewrites() {
add_rewrite_rule('^photos$', 'index.php?category_name=photos','top');
}
Remember to reload your rewrite settings: go to Settings -> Permalinks and click on Save button - no changes needed.
The Yoast SEO plugin has this function build in, I recommend this plugin in general.
no-category-base-wpml only does this
If you don't want to install a plugin for this. Around the web there are many tutorials which do this:
http://thisismyurl.com/6704/remove-category-url-wordpress/
http://www.webdevtuts.net/php/how-to-remove-category-from-wordpress-url-structure/
http://www.wprecipes.com/how-to-remove-category-from-your-wordpress-url
Too enable this for just one category I would advise the following:
create a page called photos.
create a theme template page for this photo page
In is set up a new query_posts* getting the category 'photos'
Include the category.php file.
assign that template to the photo page.
Not tested but should work. Because the page has the correct URL and should include the category. Questions, aks.
*query_posts is bad for performance if you want to do it totally correct use the pre_get_posts filter. It's requires more knowledge.

how to change the link in the wordpress email with newpassword?

how to change the link in the wordpress email with newpassword?
this information we get when we click on forgot password.
username : admin
password : admin
http://www.example.com/wp-login.php
here i want to change this url "http://www.example.com/wp-login.php" and set my own url... how can i do?
some reference code:
if ( !function_exists('is_user_logged_in') ) :function is_user_logged_in() {
$user = wp_get_current_user();
You can hook into the retrieve_password_message filter
function someFunction($message, $key){
}
add_filter('retrieve_password_message', 'someFunction');
You would then have to use the "someFunction" function to parse the $message variable and change the link.
The message variable contains the entire message. So you could simply trim the message based on the number of characters then tack on your new link...
HTH
(Untested)
Using hooks would be my first thought so that you wouldn't have to edit any core files, however I have used the SB Welcome Email Editor plugin a couple times for this exact reason. Their are a couple plugins like this out their and they are fairly light weight and allow full customization of all Wordpress generated emails.
Try using a plugin such as Theme My Login, which does everything for you.
Editing core wordpress files is never a good idea, when updating wordpress, you'll loose all your work.
You can simply follow steps if you want to edit your code file.
Go to your wordpress folder. Look for the following files:
1. /wp-login.php
2. /includes/functions.php
Change the all the codes which contains wp-login.php into your custom URL.
for example: admin.php or client-login.php
Now you can changed your login/signup URL into your custom URL.
Known issue: You can find some database error if you make any mistakes. Just refresh the page and try with the customized Url it will work...
Example site I used here : http://androideveloper.com/admin.php from http://androideveloper.com/wp-login.php
Cheers.

How do I create a custom WordPress page?

I want my WordPress blog to have a page called music. On that page I will query the DB for posts with the category music and then change around the look and feel of the posts. So I can't just put a link to /categories/music/ because I want to do custom work on the posts.
Should I put this code in a separate php file and link to it? I think I may lose access to all the nice WordPress API calls if I do that.
I was thinking about using a filter, but I am not sure which one to use. I was thinking something like the following except the_title has not been grabbed yet so I cannot check the title.
function show_music(){
if( is_page() && the_title('','',false) == 'music' ){
echo "got here";
}
}
add_filter('pre_get_posts', 'show_portfolio');
How would you go about this?
You need to put the below code in the file, and then put the file in the Theme folder. Then you can create a page using Wordpress pages and select a page template with the name you put in this comment:
/*
Template Name: Something Goes Here
*/
You need to create custom page within your theme. If you dont have idea how to create custme page or template page in WordPress theme then view my easy tutorial How to create template page in WordPress
