I want to display text that links to a website based on user input and when an action button is pressed so it looks like this:
The linked text goes to the cran documentation. Here's what I have so far.

I've reviewed similar posts and haven´t found any that address this specific need. Below is very simple MWE of what I'm trying to do: shown in 2 images, and in runnable code. My "Hide" button (or remove UI) doesn't work. Help!! I'm sure it's a simple solution but I'm new to this.
What I'm trying to do: Click on the "Add" button and a file input prompt appears below. Click "Hide" button and the file input prompt goes away. Click "Add" again (after "Hide") and the file input prompt appears again. If you click "Add" now (and repeatedly), that single file input prompt remains. (Most other posts have the object appearing repeatedly, again and again in a growing column, with every additional click of the button - this isn't what I need). Just one click to make it appear (and clicking "Add" over and over just keeps it there in its original single manifestation), and "Hide" makes it go away. Simple as that.

I have been trying to make a login for a single tabPanel in Shiny. I have used the shinyAlert method, (as described here: How to access Shiny tab ids for use with shinyalerts?) which works, but unfortunately, it shows parts of the tabPanel's content before the user is logged in.
Is there a way to change this? I am trying to figure out how to make the "backdrop" of the shinyAlert just a white page until the user is successfully logged in. I read that this might be possible with CSS, but it is unclear to me how.
Or is there another method to do this, that I haven't considered? I am pretty new to Shiny.

The contents of the fluidPage I am trying to hide works fine when I don't try to hide it.
You can use req in combination with a renderUI and uiOutput to hide stuff until someone authenticates.

I am trying to do something which I thought would be relatively simple, but I cannot seem to figure it out.
I am attempting to have an actionLink which, when pressed, provides additional information for the user. When pressed again it hides the information. I can do this fine, but what I am struggling with is updating the text of the actionLink.
I want it to read "Show additional" when the extra information is hidden, and then "Hide additional" when the information is exposed. I have read the following questions/answers, but cannot quite get it to work.

My objective is to create a ShinyApp that opens a new empty UI whenever user clicks on submitButton.
Currently this is my code below. If the user types something in the text box and press Submit. The app shows what the user typed in the main panel. However I dont want to see the text, instead when the user clicks on the submit button , it should open a new empty UI.

The app is created, such that the ui created in newWindowContent is displayed in the new window. Sadly, new windows are somewhat cut off from the parent page, such that there is no easy way to configure each page independently. At the moment, all show the same content. None have reactivity features. I guess there can be initial configurations, if one uses the window's hash. But this works only client sided.
Nevertheless, it's a good start!
I have an URL which changes with an input on shiny app. I want to open an webpage and display that with in the tab panel of shiny window. Every time I change an input the webpage URL gets updated and I want to show that page in the same tab. As of now the web page opens in a separate window than the shiny window using browseURL function of R.
