I am trying to upload images into the media manager of a Wordpress website for my clients. No issues last time I touched this website, which was about a month ago.
So far, I have:
Tried uploading images that are already in the media manager (same size, file, etc)
checked all permissions in the FTP (all permissions are fine)
disabled each plugin, 1 by 1, until all were disabled to test if that was the issue (it wasn't)
uploaded an image directly into the FTP to get it to appear (it didn't)
reset the upload location for the media manager (thought that was the issue, but it wasn't. More on that below)
made a lot of grumpy noises
tried uploading different files (didn't work)
Reinstalled the latest update of WP
So far, here's what I know:
When I click "edit image" the image appears in the editor
In the FTP, when I upload the image, it appears in the appropriate folder (public_html/wp-content/uploads/2021/11)
when I access the image from the FTP, it is there in all dimensions as created by WP
The URL of http(s)://company.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/name.jpg brings me to a blank page
No errors are returning in console expect that there is a missing resource
It's even worse on Safari (as opposed to Chrome), where none of my images are appearing
So far, every answer I can find for this problem involves the permissions for the files, none of which seem to affect anything for me. The files upload automatically at a 644 permission level, though I can change them to a 744 and still get nothing.

Unfortunately, I don't have much of an answer as to why it works, but I do have a solution.
I backed up my WordPress site using a plugin, then restored the backup. My plan was just to do the backup, then restore an old backup, but just in case I tried restoring the backup I just created seconds before—and voila, it worked. I don't know why, but hey! I have a solution.
So make a backup, and then restore that backup.

I run a WordPress site where we have some .docx files available for download to our subscribers. Much to my surprise, I was unable to download these .docx files on Chrome - I tested this out on two computers, tested with different accounts and tested in both regular and Incognito Mode. When I hit the download button, the page attempts to go to the specific download page address but then ends up just refreshing and doing nothing. I also attempted to enable the option where downloads open in a new tab but when I click "download" in this case, a new table briefly opens and immediately closes without pulling anything up.
As mentioned in the title, I have absolutely zero problems downloading the files on Safari or Firefox. Furthermore, the downloads were working perfectly on Chrome a couple days ago but now everything seems broken, both with the new files I uploaded and the old files that were already there.
Does anyone have any suspicions as to what may be the cause of this and what I can do to remedy it? It seems like this is more of a Chrome issue than WordPress issue.
I have something odd going on with our wordpress instance.
We use it for a blog site for content writers that post to it everyday. But for some reason the wysiwyg editor recently just dissapeared? I've tried everything possible but cannot find the fix for this issue.
This is what it currently shows for the editor:
But this is what it should look like:
As you can see the "Visual"and "Text" tabs are missing and it seems the editor is stuck in Text mode. I've checked the web console log and can see that the tinymce.min.js script is not even loading at all.
I have a local session running with the exact same source files (only running a different DB) and on my localhost it runs perfectly. So is there a config in the DB that can cause this to happen. I have tried reinstalling source files etc. nothing helps.
I am really freaking out. A minute ago, I was just adding do_shortcode on theme catch-katmandu and clicked the update button. It didn't give me feedback at all and the screen went totally blank. The last plugin I installed was Feedzy RSS but it is not even in the plugins directory anymore.
I see in network diagnosis, the output is 500 but there is nothing on the screen. I accessed it via FileZilla and noticed all my plugins are gone and that the katchmandu edits are also gone.
How to get it to run again?
I have a constant issue with my site going blank. Nothing ever shows. To fix it all I have to do is go in with my FTP and rename the plugins folder, refresh the page, and rename the plugins folder back to normal.
How can I have my site up and running at all times? I keep deactivating plugins hoping that it will stop it but after a few hours it goes blank again.
I contacted my host and after having them dig around for an hour they finally found the correct log. The problem was the WP-Touch never stopped 'running' so the mobile sites were fine but it would try to take over the desktop and would conflict with our theme. I have since then disabled the plugin and everything seems normal.
