What I wanted to achieve is that I override the .navbar style without using the !important keyword.
I just learned about #layer and as far as I understand the order of the layers matter. I have two layers:
#layer custom, framework;
#import url(https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.0.2/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css)
layer(framework);
#layer custom {
.navbar {
background-color: red;
}
}
I use the custom layer first and then the framework layer. I expected the custom layer to overrule the framework layer, but the background does not get red. Am I using it wrong or am I missing something here?

Your custom layer CSS is being applied correctly on the navbar here, but it is overridden by the background color set from the bg-light class as bg-light is defined after the navbar class in the HTML, meaning that the CSS for .bg-light will be applied after the CSS for .navbar has been applied (see attached image for reference). Removing the bg-light class will set the background color to red as defined in your custom layer, since it is the last layer defined and in case of multiple styles for the same element being defined in different layers, the last layer containing the style for that element gets the most priority.
For more information on the layer at-rule, you can refer to this :
MDN Web Documents - #layer
CSS-Tricks - Guide to CSS layers
#import url(https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.0.2/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css) layer(framework);
#layer custom {
.navbar {
background-color: red;
}
}

Why wouldn't an imported theme's variables be working?

I've been banging my face against my monitor for hours trying to figure out this issue that seemingly no one else is experiencing, so here we are.
I'm learning ASP.NET and working on using themes from bootswatch in my CSS folder. The bootswatch and bootstrap versions are the same (5.1.3), but the code is broken anywhere that involves a variable in the CSS file that I brought in. I'm only going to be using screenshots in this post because the files are huge and the error is what's important.
Additional info:
All packages/extensions are up to date, all variables are declared and initialized in the CSS file, and here is a link to the theme I'm trying to use: https://bootswatch.com/darkly/
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
and my _Layout file looks like this:

How to move navbar toggle button and logo to the left in Bootstrap?

I wanted to ask how can navbar toggle button and logo be moved to the left side of page in Bootstrap.
Place your toggle button tag before logo anchor tag plus add "mr-auto" class to your logo anchor tag. Check it here.

Bootstrap 4.3 navbar dropdown list and hamburger menu not working

I copied the navbar code from the bootstrap website but the dropdown list and hamburger menu is not working.I have tried adding popper.js and meta tags to the code as referred in some stackoverflow answers, but it did not work.

You forget to add bootstrap.min.js file, just add the file and done.

You need to add bootstarp.min.js for working with bootstrap.

Header image goes behind navbar when using attachment fixed and margin doesnt work

#header-img{
background-image: url("https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/stock/how-to/visual-reverse-image-search/_jcr_content/main-pars/image.img.jpg/visual-reverse-image-search-v2_1000x560.jpg");
height: 400px;
background-size: contain;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
display: block;
}
The problem occurs when i add background-attachment fixed in css. The image not only goes behind the navbar but when i use margin-top it eats up the image from the top, When I change the browser width to check for responsiveness the image goes up and keeps disappearing from the top;

Height of container can be set with height: calc(100vh - XXXX);
Where XXXX is the height of nav.

Change full height navbar-item background color

I'm using bootstrap 4. And I want to replicate this page's design:
https://www.stickermule.com/custom-stickers
For a more clear idea, I'm using a red bg to ilustrate what I need.
I could change the navbar item background color to red, but there is a gap at the top and at the bottom.
How can I solve this?
CSS Code:
li.nav-item:hover {
background-color: red;
}
Code:
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-md navbar-dark fixed-top navbar-bg">

UPDATE 1:
Solution by works only when adding nav tag :
nav.navbar {padding: 0 1rem;}
Instead of just:
.navbar {padding: 0 1rem;}
Why?
I'm calling my css file like this:
<link href="{% static 'gallito_app/style.css' %}" rel="stylesheet">
Head content:
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, shrink-to-fit=no">
<meta name="description" content="">
<meta name="author" content="">
<link rel="icon" href="../../../../favicon.ico">
<title>Jumbotron Template for Bootstrap</title>
<!-- Bootstrap core CSS -->
<link href="../../dist/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
<!-- Custom styles for this template -->
<link href="jumbotron.css" rel="stylesheet">
<!-- Custom styles for this template -->
<link href="{% static 'gallito_app/style.css' %}" rel="stylesheet">
<link href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
<link href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/js/bootstrap.min.js" rel="stylesheet">
<link href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js" rel="stylesheet">
</head>
This will also alter the height of the navbar
.navbar {padding: 0 1rem;}
if you want to keep the same height add
.navbar .nav-item{padding:1rem 1rem}
