Install pyodbc in closed linux environment - python-3.6

I know this question has been asked already but none pf the solutions worked for me so I will ask again.
I am working on a red hat 7.9 linux VM in a closed environment (with no connection to the internet), however I acn transfer files from the internet to the VM. I am running python 3.6 and trying to import pyodbc, but I get the following error:
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1
I tried to use the unixudbc-devel installation but it did absolutely nothing.
I tried for a couple of days with no further results.
Would love any help
Thanks a lot!

How can I get past this 'SSL connect error' when using jsonlite::fromJSON in R?

Issue
I get the following error whenever I run
all_companies <- jsonlite::fromJSON("https://www.sec.gov/files/company_tickers_exchange.json")
Warning: URL 'https://www.sec.gov/files/company_tickers_exchange.json': status was 'SSL connect error'Error in open.connection(con, "rb") :
cannot open the connection to 'https://www.sec.gov/files/company_tickers_exchange.json'
Thank you in advance for any help!
What I've tried
I am trying to run this on a new work computer, it runs fine on my old work computer but the new one gives me this error.
It seems the difference causing this issue is that I am using {jsonlite} 1.8.2 on my new computer and 1.8.0 on my old computer. Deep in the definition of the fromJSON() function, the working version seems to use curl::curl() to establish a connection whereas the not-working version uses base::url().
The following example line from the help documentation runs fine on the new computer with version 1.8.2
data1 <- fromJSON("https://api.github.com/users/hadley/orgs")
I can access the JSON file I am trying to read on an internet browser.
I do not have permission to install Rtools on my computer to be able to compile an older version of {jsonlite}.

Set up rstudio-server on macOS

I want to set up rstudio-server on an iMac with support for multiple users and remote login. I followed the steps in the INSTALL tutorial: I built the source, set up the configuration files and the launchd daemon. At first, it works fine, but after some time, I get these warnings/errors when I plot:
2022-06-09 08:02:29.438 rsession[3050:139329] XType: failed to connect - Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "The connection to service named com.apple.fonts was invalidated: failed at lookup with error 3 - No such process." UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=The connection to service named com.apple.fonts was invalidated: failed at lookup with error 3 - No such process.}
2022-06-09 08:02:29.438 rsession[3050:139329] Font server protocol version mismatch (expected:5 got:0), falling back to local fonts
2022-06-09 08:02:29.438 rsession[3050:139329] XType: unable to make a connection to the font daemon!
2022-06-09 08:02:29.438 rsession[3050:139329] XType: XTFontStaticRegistry is enabled as fontd is not available.
Then I can't plot any more unless I restart R and re-run my code. Do you know what could be the issue? I could not get any help when opening an issue on the rstudio-server github since MacOS is not officially supported.
I was also looking at running rstudio-server via docker, but I couldn't find a good way to map the user namespace from macOS to the container.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: It seems I was able to solve the issue by launching the fontd daemon with:
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.fontd.useragent.plist
This seems like an issue with the MacOS font daemon, not with RStudio itself.
Someone reported a similar issue on PhantomJS. Rebooting resolved it for them.
This answer reported the same error for a different build, and they were able to resolve it by installing the correct "Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority" in Keychain:
The one I had had an expiration date of February 2023. I deleted that one and went here, downloaded the one called "Worldwide Developer Relations - G3 (Expiring 02/20/2030 00:00:00 UTC)", then retried the build and it worked.

Information shows in browser, not "R Help" pane, when using StatET

I am using Eclipse 2018-09 and StatET 3.6.1. I have two R environments: one for R 3.3.2, another for R 3.5.1. When I execute a command like ?lm to call up a help page in v3.3.2, the page appears in the StatET "R Help" pane, as I want it to. But when I execute the same command to call up a help page in v3.5.1, the console tells me "starting httpd help server," and the help page loads in my browser. How can I get help to load in the "R Help" pane when using v3.5.1?
The problem arises whether or not I run Eclipse as an administrator, and whether or not I "Auto Run" R 3.5.1 upon booting. And as far as I can tell, the configurations for the two versions of R are nearly identical:
Both are running Windows 10 and JRE 1.8.0_121.
Both with version 2.1 of the rj package.
For both, I've checked every box in "Run Configurations > R Console > R Console > Eclipse Integration," including "Enable R Help for StatET."
For both, options("help_type") == 'html'.
Inspection of the different log files that I get when using Auto Run with the two versions of R suggests that there is some sort of StatET config problem that has to do with Derby. These messages appear only when I boot R 3.5.1:
!ENTRY de.walware.statet.r.core 4 -1 2018-11-16 02:50:29.092
!MESSAGE An error occurred when initializing DB for model.
!STACK 1
org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: An error occurred when loading embedded DB (Derby + DBCP)
DB ConnectionURL=[path redacted]\eclipse-workspace\.metadata\.plugins\de.walware.statet.r.core\db
[...]
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Another instance of Derby may have already booted the database C:\[path redacted]\eclipse-workspace\.metadata\.plugins\de.walware.statet.r.core\db.
[...]
Caused by: ERROR XSDB6: Another instance of Derby may have already booted the database C:\[path redacted]\eclipse-workspace\.metadata\.plugins\de.walware.statet.r.core\db.
But I don't know what to make of this problem or how to fix it.
Stephan Wahlbrink, the creator of StatET, recommended running this command at startup:
registerS3method("print", "help_files_with_topic", rj::print.help_files_with_topic)
I ran the command, and it solved the problem.
(Stephan added that the Derby errors that I saw in the logs were unrelated to the problem of displaying help in the "R Help" pane.)

Demos not working on Windows 10

I have been trying to run all the examples and demos provided by R3 Corda on my local machine which has windows 10 in it.
https://docs.corda.net/releases/release-V1.0/running-the-demos.html
While example 1 and 2 are working fine, but I am unable to run the demos. While the nodes are getting deployed, but once I run the nodes using runnodes command from command-line, they open in terminals and immediately close. Please can someone from #r3corda #corda team may help to sort this out.
I was running into the similar issue on Win 10.
Running the following:
>java -jar corda.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Could not load library. Reasons: [no jansi64-1.14 in java.library.path, no jansi-1.14 in java.library.path, no jansi in java.library.path,

Downloading the missing library to C:\windows reloved it.

Couchbase 2.2 - Cannot connect to console after installation

I have installed Couchbase 2.2.0 for Windows 7 64 bits. I installed it using the default options. The service gets installed and I can stop/start or restart it without errors. However, I cannot connect to the management console on port 8091.
I've found some posts on how to deal with this but they all relate to older versions of couchbase and reference files/options I can't find in version 2.2 (for example this post : Unable to connect to http://localhost:8091/index.html).
When I try netstat -an -p tcp I can't see any service listening on port 8091 so I suspect something goes wrong during startup.
Looking in the couchbase log in /var/lib/couchbase/logs I can see some errors but they don't make sense to me.

The windows firewall is running but, since I installed the same version of couchbase on another machine with the same Windows version without troubles I can't imagine that the firewall is causing this trouble.
I'm out of options though, I have no idea why I can't get this to work.
In the meantime, I have uninstalled 2.2 and tried falling back to 2.1 (with the same result) and moving forward to 2.5 (with the same result). In all cases I turned of antivirus software and stopped the Windows firewall to eliminate this cause.
Thanks to the nice people at Couchbase.com, the problem has been solved.
Please refer to :
https://www.couchbase.com/issues/browse/MB-10245
https://www.couchbase.com/issues/browse/MB-8760
The solution is to reinstall couchbase in a location without spaces in the path. Due to a bug, spaces in the installation path lead to trouble.
