How to use Firebase Version 9 Compatibility from CDN? - firebase

Since version 9, Firebase introduced a new Module based API.
This however requires changes in your code if you upgrade from earlier versions to 9.
At the same time version 9 has a compatibility version that is based on earlier API.
The instruction tells you how to use it as npm module https://firebase.google.com/docs/web/modular-upgrade
But it doesn't tell how to upgrade to version 9 compatibility version if you are loading firebase from CDN.
My understanding is that to upgrade to version 9 without changing my code I need to simply update the version part of the URL and add a '-compat' before '.js' extension.
e.g. from version 8.10.0 to 9.3.0 I changed my links from
https://www.gstatic.com/firebasejs/8.10.0/firebase-app.js
to
https://www.gstatic.com/firebasejs/9.3.0/firebase-app-compat.js
same thing for firestore and auth e.g.
http://www.gstatic.com/firebasejs/9.3.0/firebase-firestore-compat.js
http://www.gstatic.com/firebasejs/9.3.0/firebase-auth-compat.js
Everything is working, however I didn't find any docs to confirm this.
if you know of any docs for using version 9 compatibility from CDN please reply.

Flyway DB - Deprecated Version

is there a way to know when a version of Flyway is going to get deprecated?, actually we were using 6.0.7 the last year and then got deprecated like 6 months ago, now we are using 6.4.1 but I tried to find something on the blog and documentation but there's nothing about some news of when a version is going to be deprecated, only when we run our java spring boot project we know that a version is not usable. And we're aware of this because there's a lot of changes in version 7+ that doesn't work with our project (tested version 7.0.1 and the app crashed) and we need to estimate the cost of the changes.
Any help would be appreciate, thanks.
Flyway releases via Maven OSS. Old versions are kept indefinitely and are outside of Redgate's control. In theory, all older versions which are currently available on Maven will continue to be available for all time.
Newer versions may deprecate features over time, but older versions will always be available.

What is the latest stable Flutter build to be using Firebase?

I'm trying to add Firebase authentication to my app. I've gone through the process of linking firebase with my app, but when I get to Step 4.6 and try running my app with the Firebase plugins installed, I get the following error:
Note: C:\src\flutter\.pub-cache\hosted\pub.dartlang.org\firebase_core-1.0.2\android\src\main\java\io\flutter\plugins\firebase\core\FlutterFirebaseCorePlugin.java uses or overrides a deprecated A
PI.
Note: Recompile with -Xlint:deprecation for details.
Note: C:\src\flutter\.pub-cache\hosted\pub.dartlang.org\firebase_analytics-7.1.1\android\src\main\java\io\flutter\plugins\firebaseanalytics\FirebaseAnalyticsPlugin.java uses or overrides a depre
cated API.
Note: Recompile with -Xlint:deprecation for details.
Note: C:\src\flutter\.pub-cache\hosted\pub.dartlang.org\firebase_auth-1.0.1\android\src\main\java\io\flutter\plugins\firebase\auth\FlutterFirebaseAuthPlugin.java uses or overrides a deprecated A
From what I understand, I need to wait for the Firebase team to update their plugins before I can use them with the latest version of Flutter

Does anyone know the latest stable build that the Firebase API works on? These particular errors don't stop the build from completing, however if I try to use the playstore plugin, for example, it crashes the build script. For now I'll try to find a compatible stable build myself. I'll update this post when I find it.
Latest stable flutter build is 2.0.3. Many Firebase plugins have been migrated already to null-safety. Everything is working as a charm for me while using latest versions of dependencies for Firebase from Pub.dev, even for flutter web.
I think it might be something in the play-store plugin implementation however.

Downgrade Meteor version [duplicate]

This question already has answers here:
how do I install a previous version of meteor JS?
(5 answers)
Closed 4 years ago.
I recently updated my Meteor version from 1.6 to 1.7, which seems to have unexpected bugs. In an attempt to fix them I reinstalled Meteor, which probably deleted old installations, which means I can't go back to 1.6. If I change the version in the .meteor/release file from 1.7 to 1.6.1.2, it says that I need to update the release to 1.7, which means I can't use the old version anymore. Is there any way I can install 1.6 version?
I'm using Windows 10 PC.
Are you tracking your project in version control?
The usual advice here is that you should make sure your app is committed to some VCS before starting the update so you can roll back. This works because Meteor uses the versions in .meteor/release and .meteor/versions to keep track of what to use to run your app.
Rolling back
In the unlikely event that the update leaves your application in a bad state, and you don’t feel like debugging it right away, please make sure your application’s .meteor directory is committed to your version control system (e.g. Git, Mercurial, etc.) before the update, so that it’s easy to revert the changes if you encounter problems.
If you don't have any version control, then my recommendation would be to update .meteor/release as you have tried, and also delete .meteor/versions and allow Meteor to pick versions again that are compatible with 1.6.1.2
Alternatively you could try creating a new project with Meteor 1.6.1.2, add the same package dependencies and copy over the release and versions files for the same set of packages.
$ meteor create 1612 --release=1.6.1.2
$ meteor add <packages from your app>
After you've copied them over, meteor should use version 1.6.1.2 and compatible dependency versions

React Native Version Mismatch with Native older, with RNFirebase

I am getting the Version Mismatch with JavaScript version at 0.53.3 and Native sitting at 0.50.4.
Ran watchman watch-del-all as instructed and re-run react-native run-ios again with no luck. Also did cd ios && pod install for many times each time showing Pod installation complete! There are 11 dependencies from the Podfile and 25 total pods installed..
Have found solutions about the Version mismatch which most of them are Native higher than the JavaScript so updating package.json would work. However, how may I update the Native so that it matches the JavaScript Version?
I am not currently using Expo.
Regarding "downgrade RN", I updated as there was a Firebase [[DEFAULT]] problem and one of the suggested fix is to update RN (re-downloading GoogleServices-Info.plist didn't help). Thus I am looking for instructions for keeping RN at this version.
The issue of mismatch is related to the changing of your react-native version without properly updating peer dependencies and native projects.
Since you aren't using Expo, try following the upgrade guidelines here offered from Facebook.
Upgrading to new React Native versions
Found under.. "Projects built with native code"
I personally found success using the "Alternative" steps, and then confirmed my project
** BUILD SUCCEEDED ** correctly by both...
on the console using react-native run-ios
and then from within Xcode

Modern.ie scan saying I need to update jQuery 2.2.0 (latest) to a newer version. :/

When I scan my site with modern.ie, it says:
We've found frameworks or libraries that are not up-to-date and might
contain bugs.
modern.ie detects that my site is running jQuery 2.2.0 (the latest version).
Is there a bug with the modern.ie site?
What version of jQuery are you using?
You can check the current open bugs in its public GitHub repo https://github.com/MicrosoftEdge/static-code-scan and open a new issue if you find one
