VS2019 New Project Templates Not Loading in v16.8.1 - asp.net

I recently updated my vs2019 to latest version (16.8.1) but after completed update , I realized on create new project , new project templates has been not loading !
and I get this message :
click to enlarge
I tried repair vs but it did not work :(
Before the update, nothing was wrong !
EDIT : I checked activitylog.xml but It was useless !
EDIT2 : There is activitylog.xml : Download
EDIT 3 : I repaired Visual Studio for the second time, but I still have the same problem!
EDIT 4 : I still can use command line for create project or run or ... . only Visual Studio have problem

the xml shows the cause:
Microsoft.TemplateEngine.Utils.EngineInitializationException: Error parsing the user settings file
---> Newtonsoft.Json.JsonReaderException: Error reading JObject from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0.
at Newtonsoft.Json.Linq.JObject.Load(JsonReader reader, JsonLoadSettings settings)

So the settings.json from %HOMEPATH%\.templateengine\vs\ is somehow corrupted.
As you see I have 3 of them for 16.7, 16.8.0 and 16.8.1. So it looks like the file is generated each time after VS update.
You could try to repair it:
dotnet new --debug:reinit
If this doesn't fix it, report it to Microsoft so that it could be fixed.

A new update was released a few hours ago (v16.8.2) and I just updated VS2019 from v16.8.1 to v16.8.2 And all the problems were solved :)
Thanks for guys who answered .

System.AccessViolationException with Sqlite.Connection.LoadExtension()

I have an old 2005 VB.NET application that requires a Sqlite update for JSON functions.
I have downloaded and installed "sqlite-netFx20-setup-bundle-x86-2005-1.0.109.0.exe". I removed the Reference to the older version, and re-referenced to this new version. I compiled a run the program - all seemed to be okay.
Using an online example for JSON, put the following code behind a TestButton:-
jsondb.SQL = "CREATE TABLE user (name, phone)"
ExecuteSQLiteCommand(jsondb)
jsondb.SQL = "INSERT INTO user (name, phone) values('oz', json('{""""cell"""":""""+491765"""", """"home"""":""""+498973""""}'))"
ExecuteSQLiteCommand(jsondb)
When the "INSERT" is executed, I get "json function not found".
After more research, I found that I had to enable the json extensions with:-
mySQLdb.Connection.Open()
mySQLdb.Connection.EnableExtensions(True)
mySQLdb.Connection.LoadExtension("SQLite.Interop.dll", "sqlite3_json_init")
Initially, the .LoadExtension failed because the "SQLite.Interop.dll" module was not found.
I found a copy of this module in "sqlite-netFx20-binary-Win32-2005-1.0.109.0.zip" and copied it into the Sqlite install directory, and changed the .LoadExension method to:-
mySQLdb.Connection.LoadExtension("C:\Program Files\System.Data.SQLite\2005\bin\SQLite.Interop.dll", "sqlite3_json_init")
Now the .LoadExension method raises an exception "System.AccessViolationException".
Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance.
It seems that because I have the Sqlite Reference attribute CopyLocal=true, then the folder location for System.Data.SQLite.dll and SQLite.Interop.dll need to be the same.
Changing the .LoadExtension to:-
mySQLdb.Connection.LoadExtension(My.Application.Info.DirectoryPath & "\SQLite.Interop.dll", "sqlite3_json_init")
Fixed this.

Shiny App Error: /v1/applications/ 400 - Validation Error Execution halted

Hi I'm having a million problems trying to publish my app to shiny.io.
Firstly, I have Rtools 3.2 installed in my computer and set to the Path, but it is not recognized in the registry. Nevermind, this code should fix it:
install.packages("installr")
library(installr)
install.Rtools(choose_version = FALSE, check = TRUE, use_GUI = TRUE,
page_with_download_url = "http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/Rtools/, keep_install_file=TRUE")
install.packages("devtools")
library(devtools)
devtools::install_github('rstudio/shinyapps')
Next, to deploy my app to my shiny.io account:
library(shinyapps)
shinyapps::setAccountInfo(name='xxxx', token='xxxxxxxxxx', secret='xxxxxxxx')
Then my app starts running in a browser, and I click publish to my shiny account. However, when the app is being deployed, it shows the following error:
Preparing to deploy application...Error: /v1/applications/ 400 - Validation Error
Execution halted
Any ideas what the problems may be? Thank you.
I had the same error returned. In my case the problem was the name of the app itself. Deployed apps must have names at least 4 characters long with no spaces.
Setting an application name solved this problem for me. My application directory contained a space.
deployApp(appName = "myapp")
I had the same problem, however, my app name was fine and even adding 'appName =' did not help. Just a side note that this issue came up because I changed the name of my folder in effort to change the name of my app in shinyapp.io
The only thing that worked for me is publishing through the "Publish" button of Rstudio on upper right. I would recommend publishing using that instead of command. You can select files you do not want to publish within the App folder and you can publish the app under a different name then your local name.
I also had similar errors and the issue was resolved after I changed the name of the directory that holds the "app.R" file from only 3 characters to more than 4 characters.

How can I resurrect my Windows Store app after several packages fail to load?

The last time I had my Windows Store app open (last night), I had a XAML error in it. I (tried to) open it tonight to try to fix it, but got all kinds of errors about things not being able to be loaded. Here are the important excerpts from the ActivityLog.xml file:

I shut VS down, reopened it and the project and, although I didn't see all those err msgs, and the project was ostensibly open, there was nothing in the Solution Explorer (no files displayed). I tried opening MainPage via File > Open, but that just resulted in another err msg.
The only other thing that changed the last time I had the project open was that I updated SQLite from version 3.8.7.1 to 3.8.7.2
What could be the solution (no pun intended)?
UPDATE
On trying to shut down Visual Studio, I got over and over again: "No exports were found that match the constraint...(bla bla bla)" until I had to stop it via Ctrl+Alt+Del
UPDATE 2
Here's what's even more bizarre: I can open the project and, although Solution Explorer is completely empty/no files
visible, if I build the project via Ctrl+Shift+B, it does give me the errors in the Error List (XAML errors in MainPage.xaml).
2-clicking them brings up nothing in the editor, though.
If I try to open MainPage.xaml, I get this:
But, although I just saved this file (the screen shot above), the date on it is 10/19/2014 - more than two months in the past. What the...?!?
What must I do to get this back to normal?
UPDATE 3
I do see this with the Team Explorer tab open (this app is not under version control):
Page '3185ed96-1cbd-4381-a439-636973542e50' not found.
I fixed the XAML issue by opening MainPage.xaml in Notepad ++ and changing the XAML around. I was then able to successfully build the app in Visual Studio, but trying to run the app caused VS to crash and then start up again (still with no files in Solution Explorer).
UPDATE 4
Now I get, "Package Designer Package failed to load" when I try to open MainPage.xaml via File > Open in VS 2013...
UPDATE 5
Now I can run the app (sort of); F5 causes the splash screen to display, and then it just goes gray-black. When I Alt+F4 to shut that down, VS starts back up again (apparently after shutting down - I intended to only shut down my running app, not Visual Studio.
AutoHistory tells me:
An exception was encountered while constructing the content of this frame. This information is also logged in "C:\Users\Clay\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ActivityLog.xml".
Exception details:
System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.

context)
at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Platform.WindowManagement.WindowFrame.GetPackage()
at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Platform.WindowManagement.WindowFrame.ConstructContent()
Anyway, I then notice that I do have a (literal) red flag, and mashing it shows me an "Renew your developer license" message.
I was able to update my dev license, but my solution is still wacky in the same ways as before.
UPDATE 6
Answering Walt Ritscher, I get this in AutoHistory on starting VS (no solution opened):
An exception was encountered while constructing the content of this frame. This information is also logged in "C:\Users\Clay\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ActivityLog.xml".
Exception details:
System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.

at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Platform.WindowManagement.WindowFrame.GetPackage()
at Microsoft.VisualStudio.Platform.WindowManagement.WindowFrame.ConstructContent()
Then, when opening another project that was working fine the last time I had it open, it, too, shows no files in the Solution Explorer. If I try to run it, I get that same "No exports were found" err msg.
So VS itself is hosed, it seems. What need I do? Uninstall/reinstall?
It seems likely that your VS install is hosed. You can try a repair first, before doing a reinstall.
last week I have faced the similar problem with my Visual Studio . I think these problems occurs due to the Pc Cleaners/Pc problem fixer and others like that. I just reinstalled the windows and visual studio and the same code executed fine.
So VS itself is hosed, it seems. What need I do? Uninstall/reinstall?
I would definitely try that. However, first I would copy the project to another machine with VS installed and try there. If it works on another machine then there is a problem on the first machine, possibly VS, possibly some extension or add-in. If it doesn't work on another machine then there is a problem with the code.

Parse error when on production

I have developed a Symfony2 project (v2.2.2) and it was working all fine locally.
When I deploy it on my server I meet 2 issues:
the folder /bin does not transfer through Filezilla (impossible to start transfer)
i encounter a parse error when trying to access web/app.php/ in debug mode (see below)
First I do not understand why it would work in local but not on production.
I also guessed these errors where linked but I do not know what is /bin used for (contains only 2 files doctrine and doctrine.php) and if I remove it locally it keeps working ...
Parse error is the following :
"FatalErrorException: Parse: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/colocall/twinkler/src/Tk/ExpenseBundle/Services/Expenses.php line 21"
Expenses.php line 15->25:
public function getAllExpenses($member, $group)
{
$all_expenses_col = $group->getExpenses();
$all_expenses = array();
foreach($all_expenses_col as $expense){
$all_expenses[] = [$expense, $this->forYou($member, $expense)];
}
return $all_expenses;
}
Maybe linked to : The parse error also happen when i try to update my database through ssh connection.
If someone would know the reason why I can't make it working it would save my day that i have already lost ...
Thank you in advance,
Jules
Your error is produced by using the short array syntax [] in your code.
It is not available in PHP 5.3.10 aka on your production server. The short syntax was introduced in PHP 5.4 which explains why your code is working in your dev-environment.
change ...
$all_expenses[] = [$expense, $this->forYou($member, $expense)];
...to
$all_expenses[] = array($expense, $this->forYou($member, $expense));
... or update your server's php version and it will work :)

Aptana-Studio install-Update error : jira.bat does not exist

I wanted to update my Aptana-Studio 3 but always get the following error :
An error occurred while installing the items
session context was:(profile=profile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=null --> [R]org.swift.jira.cli 2.5.0.1335554239, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.eclipse.actions.ChmodAction).
The action chmod failed - file D:\Aptana\Aptana Studio 3\plugins\org.swift.jira.cli_2.5.0.1335554239\jira.bat does not exist.
I checked, and jira.bat isn't there. If I remember well, I did have the same problem when I installed Aptana_Studio_3_Setup_3.1.2.exe a couple of month's ago, but as it seemed to work I didn't matter about it.
However, I would like to have it solved.
What can I do ?
Thx
Would you file a bug at jira.appcelerator.org about this? It seems something the Studio developers should address.
