I have a Bitnami Wordpress site using cPanel. The site is using cPanel's SSL. I want to migrate to another server without cPanel.
I've done the necessary files migration and want to use Let'sEncrypt for the new server. This is the command line sudo /opt/bitnami/bncert-tool
However, it requires DNS validation to proceed with the SSL setup. I feel jittery to point the DNS to the new server without doing a thorough checking first.
Is there a way to set up Let's Encrypt without DNS validation first?
I don't know if this question belongs here, if is inappropriate can you kindly direct me to the right SE community? Thanks.

The Let's Encrypt certbot tool supports manual certificate generation. This tool will ask you to manually create TXT records at your DNS server. This command can be run at your web server or any system that has certbot installed.
Example command:
sudo ./certbot -d example.com -d www.example.com --manual --preferred-challenges dns certonly

I have a domain for example abc.com
How can I create development environment dev.abc.com not abc.com/dev
Thanks for your time!
If the actual hosting is with GoDaddy, create a subdomain in their control panel: https://ca.godaddy.com/help/how-do-i-create-a-subdomain-in-simple-control-panel-2290
If your hosting is with someone else but your DNS is hosted with godaddy, create an A Record for the subdomain in GoDaddy: https://ca.godaddy.com/help/add-an-a-record-19238 with the value pointing to your server ip.
On the server-side, lets assume you're using cPanel, please follow this guide to add a subdomain: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/cpanel/cpanel-manage-domains/creating-a-subdomain
After creating the subdomain there should be a folder called subdomain (or whatever you named the subdomain) in your root folder or public_html , thats where you should be putting files for subdomain.abc.com.

When I tried to open my WordPress site, it shows the error below:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Can anyone help me get out of this error?
Have you tried:
deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPres

I'm sorry, but I am confused, so I thought to ask my question here.
I have a Windows Azure Reserved Website instance, and added a domain through Managed Domains.
To get the domain added I had to add this in my DNS:
awverify CNAME awverify..azurewebsites.net.
I added the domain in my Wordpress MultiSite setup as follows:
domainname: http://domainname.com using subdirectories.
To this point everything works perfect, I can access the domain on domain.com without the www prefix.
With typing this question, I found also this topic Wordpress multisite, domain mapping www issue
I installed MU, and followed everything. The mapping works, the domain.com maps to www.domain.com but I get again the Azure Server Error:
404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for
might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily
unavailable.
Are my DNS settings wrong, or is this Wordpress or Azure specific?
Have you added a cname record for "www.yourdomain.com" ? I have not used Azure, or I would provide a more complete answer, but it sounds like you just defined the DNS entry for yourdomain.com . You also need to create a CNAME for "www.yourdomain.com"
edit: Also, if you type "ping yourdomain.com" into the command prompt, does it show the same IP as "ping www.yourdomain.com" ? If you provide the actual domain it would be easier to troubleshoot as well.

I have a GoDaddy WildCard Certificate Installed in my Windows 2008 R2 Box.
I'm running IIS 7.5
My cert is for *.MyDomain.com
I plan to use it on 50-100 sub domains. Each one will have a unique IP.
I have the cert installed the on server.
for some reason it only works on the 1st site i installed, and not other sites.
Those other sites just point to the first site when accesses via https
- and yes, I just a different IP for those sites.
thanks!
That definitely sounds like a symptom of all the sites using the same IP address. If you are sure each site is bound to a different site, maybe try these instructions: http://microsync.net/web-server/run-iis-and-apache-webserver-on-same-machine-on-same-port-80.html
Since it is a wildcard certificate, you can also put all the sites on the same IP address and configure them to use the certificate using these instructions: http://www.sslshopper.com/article-ssl-host-headers-in-iis-7.html
