I want to use Xamarin profiler in Visual Studio 2019 Mac. I found its only available in enterprise edition. I want to try trial version of enterprise edition.
How to install trail version of enterprise edition in Mac? I went to this link but couldn't find one for mac. https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/
About Profiler Support of Xamarin Profiler :
You will need to be a Visual Studio Enterprise subscriber to unlock this feature in either Visual Studio Enterprise on Windows or Visual Studio for Mac on a Mac.
Here not need to download a enterprise deition in Mac , VS for Mac has only a version to be downloaded . You not need to download another version of VS for Mac .
Just Download the Profiler install package for your platform:
macOS
Windows
That means you need to use a Visual Studio Enterprise subscriber for vs for mac,and if you have purchased a Visual Studio Professional or Enterprise Subscription (Standard or Cloud), the license applies to Visual Studio for Mac as well. Standalone Licenses for Visual Studio Professional 2019 do not apply to Visual Studio for Mac.
Having a look at this : https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/support/mac/can-use-existing-visual-studio-license-mac/

I am trying to edit the LaunchScreen.storyboard in my iOS project of my Xamarin Forms solution in Visual Studio (VS) for Windows . When I double click the storyboard to edit it, I receive the error message as follows:
"The iOS Designer requires an active connection to a Mac server. Please connect to a Mac to enable the designer."
However, I am connected to my Mac build server.
I have seen some older posts where there are mismatches between the Mac build server and the Windows development box so I checked for updates to Visual Studio on the Mac. There were some so I installed them. Then when I re-opened my project in Visual Studio for Windows and tried to connect to the Mac, I receive the error message as follows:
So I clicked to have Visual Studio correct the miss-match error and now I am back to the same error message saying "Something went wrong".. as shown above.
I have checked for updates to VS on Windows and there are currently no updates. (I really hate it when Microsoft release incompatible updates like this.. ARG!!!)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated:
P.S. I have never tried to edit a storyboard in VS on windows before so I am not sure if I was ever able to do it but I know according to the documentation I am supposed to be able to do it.
So according to Microsoft here is the solution:
See https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/comments/1255414/view.html for a work around. Basically, disconnect from Mac, Forget Mac, Add mac again via IP Address. Downside is that you get 2 connection options to the same Mac.
As a heads up - you may need to do the forget then reconnect to the Mac when you open a different project you want to edit the storyboard for even if you are already connected to the Mac by IP address. Basically, if you ever get the error, disconnect from the Mac - forget the Mac then reconnect to it by IP address.
I have deployed my asp.net project through IIS on client machine. I have installed crystal report runtime to execute my project successfully. But I can't edit any report. When I tried to install crystal report developer version it's asking for visual studio.
What edition I need to edit crystal report on client machine ? Please help.
I am using visual studio 2010
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 no longer includes Crystal Reports in the bundle.
In Visual Studio 2010, to create a Crystal Reports project or Web site or to import existing projects or Web sites that were created by using older versions of Visual Studio or Crystal Reports, you must first install a version of Crystal Reports that is compatible with Visual Studio 2010.
As per my experience,
Visual Studio 2010 should be installed first.
You would need CRforVS_13_0.exe (and not msi) version for Visual Studio 2010.
(Also check prior 32/64 bit version too)
And then you can edit the report from your project.
See: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads
It provides links and instructions for downloading what you need.
I would like to use VS 2012 and SQL 2012 in my personal laptop(It has windows 10).
Could you share the website where can I get free version(Not a trial version).
If possible please provide installation guide to them like which one should I install first VS or SQL ?
Thanks in advance.
There are multiple editions of "free" VS 2012.
Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012 for Web (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30669).
Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows Desktop
(https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34673).
Download VS Express for Web if you want to create ASP.NET Web Application projects.
Download VS Express for Windows Desktop if you want to create Windows Desktop projects.
Download Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Express here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29062.
If you would like to develop only web applications, you may download Microsoft Web Platform Installer 5.0 (https://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx)
and use it to download and install "Visual Studio Express 2012 for Web (Latest)" and "Microsoft SQL Express LocalDB Edition 11.0".
The order of installation is not important.
I get the following error when trying to build (Debug > Windows Phone > Device) the default Cordova TypeScript project :
No Windows Phone 8 emulators installed. Please install Visual Studio 2013 with Windows Phone 8 tools selected to install the emulators
Note: I was using the release candiate of Visual Studio 2015 and just installed the trial version of Visual Studio Community 2015.
Installing Visual Studio 2013 Windows Phone 8 tools can't be the correct solution.
I've downloaded and installed wpsdkv80_enu1.iso from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35471. It is Windows Phone SDK 8.0 and Emulator and it's working fine with Visual Studio 2015 Community
If you want to only test universal apps, you don't need to download WP SDK 8.0.
You can debug universal apps directly from VS by switching platform to Windows Phone(universal) and choose Windows 8.1 Emulator. But it expects Emulators for Windows Phone 8.1 to be installed.
If didn't installed Emulators for Windows Phone 8.1 you can do so in Program and Features -> Visual Studio 2015 -> Change.
Thanks for upgrading to the RTM VS 2015. Unfortunately, you do require VS2013 for Windows 8 emulators to be installed. They aren't available on VS 2015 or there is no stand-alone installer for the emulators. But you should be able to deploy your Windows 8 application on Windows 8.1 emulators, if that helps.
Correct me if I'm wrong:
The Windows Phone 8.1 emulators provided by VS2015 are only good
for testing Universal Windows apps (APPX) and nothing else.
Windows Phone 8.1
legacy apps (XAP) can only be emulated by installing the Windows Phone 8.1 Updated Emulators separately.
You won' find this piece of information anywhere on the MS reference sites.
As the title asks, does Qt Visual Studio Add-in support Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition or not? That is, can it be installed and integrated into VS2013 Community Edition?
Asking because it doesn't support VS Express, and the Community Edition might lack some features needed by the Add-in, as well.
Unlike VS Express, Visual Studio Community Edition supports both plugins and cross-platform development, and also it's free. So Qt VS Add-in would work on VS Community since the latest version of the Add-in supports VS 2013. There would be no problem and it should work normal, unless you encounter a bug in Add-in.
