Mariadb insert error code 4025 Constraint fail problem - mariadb

I am trying to input the following MySQL query
INSERT INTO `shoppingcentre_ga` (`CentreCode`, `CentreName`, `Location`) VALUES ('Test', 'Enoch', 'Downtown')
but i keep getting the following error code
4025 - CONSTRAINT CHK_CentreCode failed for shopping_centres.shoppingcentre_ga
I am a beginner and any help is much appreciated

I had the same problem because i was inserting "bad data in one of my columns".
If you can show us the structure of your table + the type of data you want to insert, it might help us a bit more.
To come back to the resolution of my problem, I was trying to insert text in a column typed by json. What could not work haha ^^ (head in the handlebar)
Good luck

Without the SQL command of your shopping-center table, it is impossible to guide you. Basically this is the order that you suppose to pass when inserting data in a MariaDB table.
1- I wish you use HeidiSQL which is working fine with MariaDB.
2- Create the table
3- if you want to test, initially, do not set any primary-key and foreign-key.
4- then insert the data.
Note: if you have primary-key well set, in first insert should not leave it blank, just give a value (like 1 , 25, etc).

Tying table records together in SQLite3

I am currently working on a database structure in SQLite Studio (not sure whether that's in itself important, but might as well mention), and error messages are making me wonder whether I'm just going at it the wrong way or there's some subtlety I'm missing.
Assume two tables, people-basics (person-ID, person-NAME, person-GENDER) and people-stats (person-ID, person-NAME, person-SIZE). What I'm looking into achieving is "Every record in people-basics corresponds to a single record in people-stats.", ideally with the added property that person-ID and person-NAME in people-stats reflect the associated person-ID and person-NAME in people-basics.
I've been assuming up to now that one would achieve this with Foreign Keys, but I've also been unable to get this to work.
When I add a person in people-basics, it works fine, but then when I go over to people-stats no corresponding record exists and if I try to create one and fill the Foreign Key column with corresponding data, I get this message: "Cannot edit this cell. Details: Error while executing SQL query on database 'People': no such column: people-basics.person" (I think the message is truncated).
The DDL I currently have for my tables (auto-generated by SQLite Studio based on my GUI operations):
CREATE TABLE [people-basics] (
[person-ID] INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT
UNIQUE
NOT NULL,
[person-NAME] TEXT UNIQUE
NOT NULL,
[person-GENDER] TEXT
);
CREATE TABLE [people-stats] (
[person-NAME] TEXT REFERENCES [people-basics] ([person-NAME]),
[person-SIZE] NUMERIC
);
(I've removed the person-ID column from people-stats for now as it seemed like I should only have one foreign key at a time, not sure whether that's true.)
Alright, that was a little silly.
The entire problem was solved by removing hyphens from table names and column names. (So: charBasics instead of char-basics, etc.)
Ah well.

Invalid object name 'product_Design'

I am getting this error while saving my data into the table. I have already created a 'product_Design' table in my database. I am using Sql Server 2008. Everything is working fine on local host but not on the server. I also tried to insert data in different tables and its working but I am just not able to insert data in this(product_Design) table ? I really need help regarding this thing.
here is my sql query
insert into z3ctjholo.dbo.product_Design values(#prodID, #productName, #designName, #designPath, #finalDesign, #front, #cont, #divHeight, GETDATE(), 0, 1)
I also tried this query
insert into product_Design values(#prodID, #productName, #designName, #designPath, #finalDesign, #front, #cont, #divHeight, GETDATE(), 0, 1)
Both the queries are generating error. Please help me out.
Thanks..
So finally i found what is the problem. if you ever face such kind of problem then execute this command in sql server and see whether your table is connected to any schema apart from dbo. Use this statement to check whether the table is connected to any other schema.
use yourDatabaseName
Then
SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES
after that if you find that your table is connected with other schema apart from dbo then use your any statement like this
select * from schemaName.tableName
(eg. my schema name is z3ctjholo and my table name is product_Design)
so my statement would be like this
select * from z3ctjholo.product_Design
what i was doing wrong, i was using two schema names (z3ctjholo.dbo.product_Design).
I hope it will help someone..
Thanks...
There are two reasons, I can find so far.
1. Either the connection settings in web.config is incorrect.
2. your database is case sensitive collation and so check the name with case. May be you have created the table with name Product_Design and trying to insert in product_Design, in this case also, the command may not work.
Please check both the points.

Teradata set table

I have a set table in teradata , when I load duplicate records throough informatica , session fails because it tries to push duplicate records in SET table.
I want that whenever duplicate records being loaded informatica rejects them using TPT or Relation connection
can anyone help me with properties I need to set
Do you really need to keep track of what records are rejected due to duplication in the TPT logs? It seems like you are open to suggestions about TPT or relational connections, so I assume you don't really care about TPT level logs.
If this assumption is correct then you can simply put an Aggregator Transformation in the mapping and mark every field as Group By. As expected, this will add a group by clause in the generated query and eliminate duplicates in the source data.
Please try following things:
1. If you'll use fload or TPT Fast load then the utility will implicitly remove the duplicates but this utility can only be used for loading into empty tables.
2. If you are trying to load data in non-empty table then place a sorter and de-dupe your data in Informatica
3. Also try changing the flag stop on error to 0 and flag Error limit in target to -1

Error "Can't update all the records in update query; didn't update 9 field(s) due to type conversion failure" Dcount Update Query

I know how completely wrong it is to store calculated data in a table! But, in this case it is very necessary for what I need.
I am using this statement:
UPDATE BusinessStreets
SET BusinessesPerStreet
= DCount("*","Businesses","StreetName='" & Replace(StreetName,"'","''") & "'");
It goes to update the correct records in the table by asking if I am sure I want to continue as this cannot be undone, but then gives me an error:
Microsoft Office Access can't update all the records in the update query.
Microsoft Office Access didn't update 9 field(s) due to a type conversion failure
When it says "field(s)" I am sure it means records as I have 9 records in this table at the moment, which once I have this working, I will then increase to over 100.
The field which will be updated is a Long Integer field, which should be fine as the Dcount function will yield numeric results.
What is the problem with this statement?
Thank you for giving me your time to help me with this. It's really really appreciated!!
Without seeing the data, one can't be sure what the conversion failure is about but maybe some of the data already contains a double quote? Or maybe you have null data for some of the records?

SQLite Modify Column

I need to modify a column in a SQLite database but I have to do it programatically due to the database already being in production. From my research I have found that in order to do this I must do the following.
Create a new table with new schema
Copy data from old table to new table
Drop old table
Rename new table to old tables name
That seems like a ridiculous amount of work for something that should be relatively easy. Is there not an easier way? All I need to do is change a constraint on a existing column and give it a default value.
That's one of the better-known drawbacks of SQLite (no MODIFY COLUMN support on ALTER TABLE), but it's on the list of SQL features that SQLite does not implement.
edit: Removed bit that mentioned it may being supported in a future release as the page was updated to indicate that is no longer the case
If the modification is not too big (e.g. change the length of a varchar), you can dump the db, manually edit the database definition and import it back again:
echo '.dump' | sqlite3 test.db > test.dump
then open the file with a text editor, search for the definition you want to modify and then:
cat test.dump | sqlite3 new-test.db
As said here, these kind of features are not implemented by SQLite.
As a side note, you could make your two first steps with a create table with select:
CREATE TABLE tmp_table AS SELECT id, name FROM src_table
When I ran "CREATE TABLE tmp_table AS SELECT id, name FROM src_table", I lost all the column type formatting (e.g., time field turned into a integer field
As initially stated seems like it should be easier, but here is what I did to fix. I had this problem b/c I wanted to change the Not Null field in a column and Sqlite doesnt really help there.
Using the 'SQLite Manager' Firefox addon browser (use what you like). I created the new table by copying the old create statement, made my modification, and executed it. Then to get the data copied over, I just highlighted the rows, R-click 'Copy Row(s) as SQL', replaced "someTable" with my table name, and executed the SQL.
Various good answers already given to this question, but I also suggest taking a look at the sqlite.org page on ALTER TABLE which covers this issue in some detail: What (few) changes are possible to columns (RENAME|ADD|DROP) but also detailed workarounds for other operations in the section Making Other Kinds Of Table Schema Changes and background info in Why ALTER TABLE is such a problem for SQLite. In particular the workarounds point out some pitfalls when working with more complex tables and explain how to make changes safely.
