Tabs Center Aligned in a WordPress Theme - css

Currently there are no options in the theme to align TABS centered. I tried to play with the CSS in the stylesheet (style.css), but with no luck.
how can I make the tabs center aligned?
/* tab */
.tab-set {
margin-bottom: 50px;
}
.tab-set ul.tabs-titles {
padding: 0;
height: 32px;
margin: 0;
clear: right;
}
.tab-set .tabs-titles li {
padding: 15px 35px;
color: #fff;
font-size: 16px;
font-weight: 800;
text-transform: uppercase;
border-right: 1px solid #f6f6f6;
float: left;
list-style-type: none;
cursor: pointer;
}
.tab-set .tabs-titles li:last-child {
border-right: none;
}
.tab-set .tabs-titles li.current {
padding: 15px 35px;
position: relative;
top: 1px;
color: #575a5c;
background: #f6f6f6;
}
.tab-set .tab-content {
padding: 20px 20px 10px;
background-color: #f6f6f6;
clear: both;
}
.tab-content p {
padding: 0;
}
.tab-set.white .tabs-titles li {
border-right: 1px solid #fff;
}
.tab-set.white .tabs-titles li.current {
background: #fff;
}
.tab-set.white .tab-content {
background-color: #fff;
}

It's a bit hard to guess the issue since there's no html to make sure the structure is correct. For sake of cleaner code, I'd do this and update the following:
.tab-set ul.tabs-titles {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
width: 100%;
display: inline-block;
text-align: center;
}
.tab-set .tabs-titles li {
padding: 15px 35px;
color: #fff;
font-size: 16px;
font-weight: 800;
text-transform: uppercase;
border-right: 1px solid #f6f6f6;
display: inline-block;
}
.tab-set .tabs-titles li.current {
color: #575a5c;
background: #f6f6f6;
}
Try not ever set a fixed height unless needed because that's how items can look all messy. Have the padding/line-height dictate the height. I also removed some duplicates. For example, applying the same padding to .current was just doing the same thing. Hope this helps.

Here's my codepen to see it in action: https://codepen.io/thecenteno/pen/LYYgMpv

Configure CSS to add table of contents in side bar?

Disclaimer - I know very little about CSS.
I'm interesting in using jemdoc's CSS (https://jemdoc.jaboc.net/jemdoc.css) with HTML5 exported from emacs org-mode. However I believe emacs org-mode exports a "table-of-contents" rather than a "menu" (which is generated from a separate file with jemdoc), but I would like it if the table of contents could be displayed in the sidebar like the menu. Can this be modified to accept a table of contents? I believe this is the relevant part of the jemdoc CSS.
table#tlayout {
border: none;
border-collapse: separate;
background: white;
}
body {
background: white;
font-family: Georgia, serif;
padding-bottom: 8px;
margin: 0;
}
#layout-menu {
background: #f6f6f6;
border: 1px solid #dddddd;
padding-top: 0.5em;
padding-left: 8px;
padding-right: 8px;
font-size: 1.0em;
width: auto;
white-space: nowrap;
text-align: left;
vertical-align: top;
}
#layout-menu td {
background: #f4f4f4;
vertical-align: top;
}
#layout-content {
padding-top: 0.0em;
padding-left: 1.0em;
padding-right: 1.0em;
border: none;
background: white;
text-align: left;
vertical-align: top;
}
#layout-menu a {
line-height: 1.5em;
margin-left: 0.5em;
}
tt {
background: #ffffdd;
}
pre, tt {
font-size: 90%;
font-family: monaco, monospace;
}
a, a > tt {
color: #224b8d;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover {
border-bottom: 1px gray dotted;
}
#layout-menu a.current:link, #layout-menu a.current:visited {
color: #022b6d;
border-bottom: 1px gray solid;
}
#layout-menu a:link, #layout-menu a:visited, #layout-menu a:hover {
color: #527bbd;
text-decoration: none;
}
#layout-menu a:hover {
text-decoration: none;
}
div.menu-category {
border-bottom: 1px solid gray;
margin-top: 0.8em;
padding-top: 0.2em;
padding-bottom: 0.1em;
font-weight: bold;
}
div.menu-item {
padding-left: 16px;
text-indent: -16px;
}
Currently I use something like this to display my org-mode at the top of the HTML5 page (which I also copied from another CSS file).
#table-of-contents {
display: table;
width: 350px;
border: 1px solid #aaa;
margin-top: 3ex;
padding: 10px 10px 10px 0px;
}
#table-of-contents h2 {
border: 0;
text-align: center;
list-style-type: none;
}

Having trouble once I added iframe

This is sort of the same issue I asked here: Cannot get two CSS elements to be next to each other
However, this time, it's messing up when I added an iframe. I tried applying different styles, even to the iframe, but it doesn't appear to be working. I also messed with the CSS of the ul and li that I added to the side nav bar (didn't help, though changing the ul property to display: table-row; did fix another issue I had with something else.)
My main plan was to have an iframe to another group of pages. (My restaurant pages might have more than one tab for each restaurant, but I had been wondering how to have a "back" thing to my ski resort (where the restaurants are) so the user could go back to them. I then thought, why not just have an iframe instead?
However, once I added the iframe, the trouble I had before (see previous stack overflow link above) suddenly came back.

This time, having display: table-cell; for both nav#vert and #text-content doesn't appear to be enough like it was before.
float: left on the nav#vert seems to have fixed that issue, though it broke some other things (though I should be able to fix those.)

float next div wraps around

I'm having problem with this style, the content body wraps around the menu bar, I've tried removing the float but nothing happens.
.menu {
float: left;
padding: 0;
width: 100%;
margin: 0 0 1em 0;
}
.menu ul {
width: 1100px;
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0;
list-style: none;
}
.menu li {
float: left;
}
.menu li a {
font-size: 14px;
font-weight: bold;
text-transform: uppercase;
color: #FFFFFF;
padding: 2px 10px;
text-decoration: none;
}
.menu a:hover {
color: #FFFFFF;
border-radius: 5px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: #666666;
border-left: 1px;
border-right: 1px;
box-shadow: #333 3px 3px 4px;
}
.content {
width: 1100px;
margin: 0 auto;
}
the content writes next the last link.
You don't have any clear in your CSS. Make sure that the first element after the floating div gets cleared.

Having trouble with clear: both:

At this Test Link I seek to install header and main site navigation on to the top of a blog script.
My clear:both; worked on the main site script but throws everything to the side now. Have tried numerous fixex without success! Thanks in advance for ant pointers to resolve. Clear:both; is in the footer.

you have two id's with the same name as container. you id needs to be unique and also id fieldset and i guess all your tags are not closed properly very those.
you can put a clear div after you menu to clear out this row. It is the same principle use in the 960 grid sytem.

But here is a link to see the code and the result.

I currently got my PC as a web host you can view the site with the CSS here:

Any help would be appreciated.
My master page simply calls container then header and nav and categories and footer.
The best CSS advice I can give if you have div issues is to look into YUI it is JUST css, so don't think it is some crazy new technology but it can be a huge help.
