Is there a way to have Eclipse show error when an import is missing for fxml code to work? I just got started with fxml and had a couple of runtime exceptions because I was missing some imports but there weren't any warnings before I compiled.

I am on Arch Linux and I am trying to use PySide6 and QT6 in my project since I will need to be able to use singleton qml objects and PySide2 doesn't seem to support the registration of singleton qml objects. My project uses ColorOverlays and DropShadows, so I will need GraphicalEffects support. However, according to the doc pages, these aren't supported by Qt6 and require a compatibility module, Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects to be supported.
I am trying to import Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects into my QML code via the import statement below:
import Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects
However, when I add this to my project's QML in QT Creator, I am getting the error: "QML module not found."
Here are some things I have tried in order to remedy this issue:
Installed QT using the installer from the website.
Installed Qt6/5 via pacman.
Installed the qt6-5compat package from the AUR.
Installed qt6/5-base from the AUR.
Googling the issue.
How can I fix this issue with importing Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects?
EDIT:
I am using Python and PySide6 for my backend code, but I am writing the front-end in QML, which is where I am having my issue.
Here could be the solution for the problem.
From the main directory "QT" you need to take the Qt5Compad module. This must be added to the development environment.
It works with Pyside6 and PyQT6.
Here is a better description: QT6.4 QML PYTHON module "Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects" is not installed
You have to keep in mind that PySide2 is a binding of Qt5 and PySide6 is that of Qt6.
If you want to use ColorOverlay or DropShadow with pyside2 then you should follow the Qt5 documentation that says you should use import QtGraphicalEffects 1.15.
If instead you want to use it in pyside6 it has moved those components to the Qt5Compat module so you should use: import Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects.
So the way to import will depend on whether you are using PySide2 (Qt5) or PySide6 (Qt6).
Note: QtCreator does not have many capabilities so many times it will throw false positives since it is not able to understand PySide. Unfortunately they have not given it "much affection" so it is not optimized to work with python obtaining that type of warnings. So just obviate the warning.
i created a Javafx project using JDK 8 and when i tried to export it to a runnable .jar file, i got surprised that it doesn't run using CMD, and gives the following error :
"Javafx compenents are missing"
while it works perfectly during the compiling time(using the IDE) when i accessed the .jar files, i found it has just .class files (that i made), and the needed library files that haven't been exported (i made sure to select the "extract need library files extract required libraries into generated jar" option in Eclipse), is there a reason behind of this? and a way to solve it? thanks in advance
Ps: i tried this using Eclipse and Intellij IDE
I just wanna mention once again that I'm using JDK 8 where it has JavaFX library inside of it.
Did you try this?
There are detailed instructions on how to configure your IDE to run JavaFX with newer OpenJDKs (which do not come with JFX components in it).
It also explains how to create a new JavaFX Maven project from archetype, with all the necessary plugins to easily build your application while including the minimal Java components for it (using jlink).
This will ensure that anybody using your application will have those components.
I've got the following error upon trying to add QtQuick.Dialogs 1.(0/1/2) to my project:
qrc:/qml/main.qml:4 module "QtQuick.Dialogs" is not installed
Now here is the thing, if I create a completely new app (standard empty QtQuick application) and add this line and the file dialog example from QML FileDialog documentation, then there is no problem.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Solved it!! It turns out that the problem was that I had used windeployqt on the output folder. This conflicted with adding new qtquick components. The solution was to delete everything in the output folder and generate a clean compiled and it worked. In case it helps anyone else.
In mxml application made in flex if i place a part of actionscript code in separate file and include it in mail application using (fx:Script source) , then do i have to import all the mx and spark components in .as included file even though they are were already imported in main mxml application ?
For example if i have mx alert already imported in main mxml file then will i have to import in again in the .as file placed externally although .as file is included in main mxml application ?
Thanks
The answer is no you don't need to, but you will get compiler warnings if you reference classes inside the include. These warnings will not prevent you from compiling or deploying your app properly.
If you already had a sample set up for this, why did you ask here instead of just trying it?
I am trying to create a flex app but facing a weird problem I have created a package to keep my mxml file separately and action script file separately. But the problem I am facing is when I am trying to import one of the .mxml component in my actionscript of main file of mxml application then I am not able to do so .can some one help me in importing one mxml file into other mxml file. my flash builder is not recognizing the package in which i have kept my other mxmk file
I figured out my problem and learned that we cant import mxml file we can include mxml file in namespace and can only import actionscript file.
