QML TableView disable horizontal scrollbar - qt

I am using TableView QML component. I have 3 columns in there. Each column width is set to the table total width divided by 3. This introduces some fraction parts and in result, a horizontal scrollbar is always visible in the bottom:
I would like to disable this scrollbar but can't figure out how to do it. I am using QML TableView from QtQuick.Controls 1.4 (the old ones). Qt version is 5.12.3.

Layout management in Qt

I have a small program which contains a QGroupBox with other widgets like this:
I tried many ways to manage the size of the QGroupBox to make the height as the same as the rest of the parts. Except for the way of using setMaximumHeight, because I want the size to change dynamically with the window size too. what else can I do to manage the layout?
Right now there are three items in a layout. The layout will try to fill the available space. QLineEdit and QSpinBox (or whatever your second widget is) have SizePolicy.vertical == fixed, so all extra space goes to the QGroupBox.
You have these choices:
Add a vertical spacer as fourth item below the groupbox to your layout.
Set maximum height of your groupbox - then the remaining space will be evenly spaced between the items.
Adjust the size of your window / widget / dialog (in Qt Designer or via code).

How to restrict growth (size) of layout in Qt Designer?

When I maximize my window, I want to restrict a vertical layout (and the entire row below it also) so that it has a specific size (lets say a width of 200). How can I achieve this? Below is what I get now. The buttons are stretched too far. I want them to keep a width of 200.
To stop the buttons stretching, use the following steps in Qt Designer:
click on scrollArea in the Object Inspector
click on Break Layout on the toolbar
click on scrollArea in the Object Inspector
click on Lay Out in a Grid on the toolbar
click on scrollAreaWidgetContents in the Object Inspector
scroll down to the bottom of the Property Editor
change layoutColumnStretch to 0,1
These steps should remove an empty column from the scroll-area grid-layout, and make the second column stretch to take up the available space when the window is resized.
You just need to restrict the maximum width of all widgets (in this case the buttons) within the layouts of this grid column to the expected size, else they'll just keep expanding. You may also have to fiddle the horizontal size policy; I seem to remember that buttons were a bit tricky in this regard (or was that the height?), but can't test it right now.
The layout size contraint you tried only applies to the layout's direct parent widget, if it has one, which isn't the case for the vertical layouts here.

How to set display ratio between widgets in Qt layout?

In a tab page I do have one tree view widget and one tab widget inside the vertical layout, I want to set 60% of screen space to tree view and 40% to tab widget, always. How can I do this in Qt Designer ?

If you click the parent widget and scroll down its properties, you will find the properties of its layout at the very bottom.
You can set the layoutRowStretch and layoutColumnStretch properties there.
In case of a vertical layout, you could for example set "60,40" (or "6,4" or "3,2") as value for the layoutRowStretch property.
This will mean the factor of the first row to the second row will be 60:40 = 3:2

JavaFX 2 Not Resizing UI Control Based On Window Size

I'm new to JavaFX and I want to learn. I have a Group containing a GridPane that contains a lineChart, TableView and HBox (status bar) but I'm experiencing the following problem:
I am using screen resolution 800 x 600 on Windows XP when I change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768, the lineChart, TableView and HBox does not expand to fill the new window size, it leaves a large space at the right. How can I make controls fill the width of the window when window is resized.
The TableView's height extends beyond the boundary of the window, the bottom border of the tableView and the status bar is not showing. How can I make sure that the tableView does not extend beyond the window height?

Instead of using a Group as the root of your Scene, just make the GridPane the root of your scene.
The layout Pane classes automatically expand and shrink to fit their available area as the area changes whereas a Group does not.

Your scene will probably end up being completely enclosed in the window if you just make the change above and use a layout pane as the scene root.
Additionally, if the sum of the minimum sizes of the window elements is greater than the window size, then the TableView will extend beyond the boundaries of the window, in which case you can either reduce the minimum sizes of elements (by using smaller fonts or less text, explicitly setting minWidth/minHeight values etc.) or wrap elements in a ScrollPane - but in your case those modifications are probably unnecessary.

How to set default height on QTableWidget

I have a widget which I'm putting in a QVBoxLayout. This widget's layout is a QVBoxLayout which includes a QTableWidget. When I display this everything is fine but the QTableWidget only shows a few rows. How can I set the height of the table to a decent value (like 20 rows) while still allowing the table to resize?
I've tried calling table.setMinimumHeight(200) but then the table can NEVER be smaller than 200. I've also tried setting the container widget height using setMinimumHeight but this has the same problem.
Check the sizePolicy for the QTableWidget. This will have horizontal and vertical size policies which, if I understand you correctly, should be set to "expanding" or "minimum expanding". There are a number of options and combinations for these and sometimes it can be tricky getting the right combination for all the widgets in your layout to get what you are looking for.
The size policies will work in combination with your min/max height/width settings and those of the other widgets in the layout.
