I want to display my links to the right of the page
I have tried mr-auto but it does not work
<body>
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light fixed-top mr-auto mt-2 mt-lg-0">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-controls="navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavAltMarkup">
<div class="navbar-nav">
<a class="nav-item nav-link active" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link disabled" href="#" tabindex="-1" aria-disabled="true">Disabled</a>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
for right align on desktop only:
adding the class justify-content-end to your div class="collapse navbar-collapse... > will make the links right aligned: you can check the code snippet below also:
for right align on mobile collapsible menu also:
add css: .nav-link{text-align: right;}
complete snippet:
.nav-link{text-align: right;}

Add width: 100%; to your CSS class .navbar-justified
add this class to nav ul "navbar-nav w-100 justify-content-between"
You don't need any extra CSS to do this. Just use nav-fill and w-100...

Bootstrap 4 collapsing two navbars into one toggle button
(2 answers)
Closed 4 years ago.
Wondering if it's possible to have two navigation bars displaying on separate rows on desktop, but have the two navbars collapse into one toggler on tablet and mobile.
Essentially, I want the top navbar to contain the brand, and then four or five menu items, while the second navbar would not contain a brand but instead just four or five more navigation elements. I would like these navigation bars to display on their own rows on desktop, but when the viewport shrinks to tablet or mobile, have the contents of both of these navbars fall under the same mobile navbar toggler. Is this possible? I see a bunch of solutions for Bootstrap 3, but none for Bootstrap 4.

Use a single class to data-target the Navbars, instead of different id's. For example, give both the navbar-collapse elements the navbar-toggle class, and then the target is data-target=".navbar-toggle":

<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">

I'm new to Bootstrap CSS. I took this code directly from Bootstrap 4.0 Beta page example (https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/components/navbar/).
In the Boostrap example page, this code works and shows navigations on desktop browsers, but when I use this code in my page, it does not show the navigations on the desktop browsers by default; it is showing the hamburger menu by default on any size browser.
Any help greatly appreciated.
<div class="row-fluid">
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-controls="navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavAltMarkup">
<div class="navbar-nav">
<a class="nav-item nav-link active" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link disabled" href="#">Disabled</a>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
What you posted seems to run fine. Is there any more code you can add to your example?
<script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0-beta.2/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<link href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0-beta.2/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<div class="row-fluid">
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-controls="navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavAltMarkup">
<div class="navbar-nav">
<a class="nav-item nav-link active" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
<a class="nav-item nav-link disabled" href="#">Disabled</a>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
</div>
I found the problem. I upgraded Chrome to the latest version and now it works.
It's a bug, copy the contents of bootstrap.min.js from the previous version and it should be working.

Bootstrap align navbar items to the right
(24 answers)
Closed 5 years ago.
This is the code. I need to move navbar(without logo) to right side.
So I added float-right to like <div class="collapse navbar-collapse float-right" id="navbarSupportedContent">.
But it did not worked.
Full Code
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-dark bg-dark">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Popular Quotes Collection</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarSupportedContent" aria-controls="navbarSupportedContent" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse float-right" id="navbarSupportedContent">
<ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Submit a Quote</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>
Simply add:
.justify-content-end to .navbar-collapse
Remove floats, bootstrap 4 is flexbox by default so you can take advantage of this.
Like this:
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse justify-content-end" id="navbarSupportedContent">
Working Resizable Fiddle
You can not use float because bs4 use display: flex;
You can use class: 'justify-content-between' or get more about bootstrap4 flex class on this page https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/utilities/flex/
You don't actually need to apply float-right at all, but rather navbar-toggler-right:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0-alpha.6/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-rwoIResjU2yc3z8GV/NPeZWAv56rSmLldC3R/AZzGRnGxQQKnKkoFVhFQhNUwEyJ" crossorigin="anonymous">
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-dark bg-dark">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Popular Quotes Collection</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler navbar-toggler-right" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarSupportedContent" aria-controls="navbarSupportedContent" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon">Toggle</span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarSupportedContent">
<ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">Submit a Quote</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</nav>
Hope this helps! :)
I am trying to use Bootstrap Navbar and copied the snippet below from the site.
I am trying to position the link with class navbar-brand to the right rather than on left by default but it seems fixed?
I tried to use utility classes to float it and they do not seem to affect it.
Code Snippet:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0-alpha.6/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-rwoIResjU2yc3z8GV/NPeZWAv56rSmLldC3R/AZzGRnGxQQKnKkoFVhFQhNUwEyJ" crossorigin="anonymous">
<nav class="navbar navbar-toggleable-md navbar-light bg-faded">
<button class="navbar-toggler navbar-toggler-right" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNav" aria-controls="navbarNav" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNav">
<ul class="navbar-nav">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#home">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#about">About</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#speakers">Speakers</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#schedule">Schedule</a>
</li>
</ul>
<a class="navbar-brand pull-sm-right??" href="#">Presented by Treehouse</a>
</div>
</nav>
Use ml-auto on the Brand (navbar-brand):
<nav class="navbar navbar-toggleable-md navbar-light bg-faded">
<button class="navbar-toggler navbar-toggler-right" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarNav" aria-controls="navbarNav" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse">
<ul class="navbar-nav">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#home">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#about">About</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#speakers">Speakers</a>
</li>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" href="#schedule">Schedule</a>
</li>
</ul>
<a class="navbar-brand ml-auto" href="#">Presented by Treehouse</a>
</div>
</nav>
Working Demo
Alternatively, you can use mr-auto on the navbar-nav to push the brand right.
Just add mr-auto class to your navbar-brand. That will align it to the right of other links.

Use pull-right on the brand.
Code:

<div class="collapse navbar-collapse">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">

<li>Link</li>
</ul>
</div>
<!-- /.navbar-collapse -->
</nav>
