Ghost to medium integration - ghost-blog

At the end of the article
https://ghost.org/pt_BR/vs/medium/
there is the sentence:
You can also publish content to your Ghost site and then syndicate it to Medium as a distribution channel.
Is this a suggestion that this can be automated or should I do it manually? Are there any perspective on ghost v2 (with mobile doc post format) with Medium integration?

TL;DR:
Use Zapier to generate stories in Medium with new Ghost posts.
Full Story
I had the same question. First I searched the Ghost website for "Medium" (using Google).
Sadly, because of the "Ghost vs. Medium" link in the footer, I got a gazillion1 hits. My second attempt, excluding the footer (and then the "publisher" section and the Forum) I did not find any specific mention.
The same happened when looking for "distribution channel" and "syndication" (and similar terms). Expanding my search to include the Ghost Github repo did not change matters any. 😿
Next, looking at the integrations, there is also no specific Medium intergration.
There is, however, a Zapier integration. As Zapier offers an integration to generate stories in Medium with new Ghost posts, I'm guessing that is what is being refered to2.
It looks like the sales pitch
You can ... syndicate it to Medium
Really does mean you have to syndicate it to Medium yourself. The options you have are to do it manually, use a service like Zapier, or create your own custom automation3 using either the RSS feed or API.
Footnotes
Feel free to substitue this with your personal favorite non-numerical vague quantifier
No idea how well things like rel=canonical are handled...
Apparently thats what the Stanford Review has done as the Ghost "customer" page states:
the newspaper has built out its core publication on top of Ghost.

I would like to make riddles bulletin board with WordPress

I would like to create an Internet forum (message board) in WordPress where people can post riddles and I would appreciate your advice.
Hello to all respondents and viewers (Sorry about my bad English. I am not a native English speaker).
As mentioned above, I would like to create a riddle an internet forum using WordPress, but I don’t have enough knowledge for programming, so I have tried several plugins. However, I am having trouble finding a plugin that meets the following criteria. I would be very grateful if you could provide me with a compatible plugin or programming code.
[Required features]
An account must be created to post riddles and enter comments (Google account is OK).
When you post riddles, the answer to the riddle must be written in a separate field from the riddle text box. After posting, other viewers can see the answer by clicking on "Answer".
Visitors can rate the difficulty and fun of riddles (e.g., on a scale of 1 to 10). No account is required just to rate the riddles.
The rating level (average of ratings) from other people is automatically calculated and displayed for each posted riddle (people can see the difficulty level of the riddles).
The account of users will accumulate riddles that he/she has posted in the past. People can see their previous riddles by checking their accounts.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
It would be appreciated if you could provide me some advice. Thank you.
I dont think you can do this type of application your need a web developer to build this. But if you want you can use the following steps.
the easiest way to achieve this is you can use post section as riddles or you can use plugin to create costume post for riddles.
to allow user/visitor to login in your website you can simply change the setting of wordpress. you can google it according to your wordpress version.
your can use rating plugin to implement this 3rd feature i recommend Site Reviews plugin for this.
you can achieve this without any programming knowledge.
It can be in your profile dashboard when you allow users to login.

What framework to use for a responsive private website that has individual areas?

A group of business owners have asked me to create a responsive website just for them (public-facing page is login page). They want to be able to login and each have their own individual area which will show their business location and information about their business. They have recently tested doing a survey about their business environment, and they liked it and want each survey result presented in their private area too. Note, each owner will not see the private information of other owners. However, they also want a shared area with resources relevant for their industry (e.g. latest regulations, relevant industry PPTs) which they all can see (again, not public facing).
My question is, what is the best framework for making this website, which will also look ok on mobile? Previously I've made public facing websites with Elementor and WordPress - which meet the 'responsive website' requirements and for which I can envisage setting up the shared resource area - but what to use for login and creating individual areas?
Ideally after a business owner logs in they will have a personalized dashboard with their business information, and links to their page with survey results, location map etc. However, everyone will have the same index, e.g. Homepage (individualized dashboard), Survey Results (which will only show their results), Resources (everyone will see the same thing), Newsletter (they all see the same one).
I have used a free online form maker and made a digital version of the survey for them already, which automatically loads the data to a Google Sheet and then I split results in chart form to individual sheets with per person viewing permission. I have each owner's business location data ready in Google Maps. All these items I can easily embed into a page - once I have a framework setup for these private areas.
There are only about 18 business owners so it isn't a lot. I looked at using the WordPress inbuilt page password function to do this but it isn't working on most browsers for me, and I found many others encountered this same issue. I've looked at "WordPress client portal" plugin (uses password protected categories), WordPress Client Portal Plugin from SuiteDash (has the functionality but it is very very slow), ClientPortal (I can't find any option to try this plugin), and WP Customer Area (this seems great, but I found it too difficult to use even though it is free. I realize maybe my understanding isn't good enough - but I can't find good guides in English for it).
I also found some other "membership" type plugins, but they were relevant for providing customers with paid content at a tier level. I.e., you login and if you pay for "S" tier then you get access to that content. There is no paid content for the website that these owners want.
Appreciate any advice anyone may have on a suitable framework. I don't mind paying for something that fits these needs! Thanks for your help.

Can I customize look of Google News RSS feed on my website?

I have a doubt regarding the use of Google News RSS Feed. Google News help states this:
Why Google might block an RSS feed In some cases, Google News might
block a feed. That could happen if you are:
Using Google News feeds for profit or to increase traffic to your site
Reformatting news results so they look like your own content
Changing, editing, or creating works based on content from Google News
I am looking to clarify these points:
Can't I customize the look of the feed? I want to have a separate page for news related to content on my website. Will then I violate the second rule if I customize the look of it? For example, I'll display a slideshow on the top along with a listing in the bottom much like FeedWind or Feedgrabber widgets.
I am surely not violating the third one. But everyone displays Google News on their website to sustain traffic right? Isn't the first rule broken by everyone who uses Google news RSS feed on their website?
Can't I customize the look of the feed?
Create an app or script to grab the feed, parse it, decorate it the way you like. Now, you have successfully customized the look.
I want to have a separate page for news related to content on my website. Will then I violate the 2nd rule if I customize the look of it?
A bit critical question. Let me provide you a simple answer: mention at certain corner that it was from google news feed. When google shows you ads, it puts a little AdChoice at a cozy corner by clicking on which you can confirm that that was an ad from google - follow their strategy, give them proper credit.
I am surely not violating the third one. But everyone displays google news on their website to sustain traffic right? Isn't the first rule broken by everyone who uses Google news rss feed on their website?
When you are providing value to others, then people like to act blind and pretend that what they see is not a promotion. For example, free medical camps are not actually done for helping others if they cannot promote them to get prospective patients (clients/customers) or cannot get free media promotion (again free flow of lot of customers) - forget those doctors who are lonely or have no responsibility or for whatever reason serving for free.

How can I get rid of Google Analytics spam on the dashboard?

Website: https:deeringwealthteam.com/
I opened Google Analytics this morning to find that the "Language" section had been spammed ... on the dashboard.
Trump spam in Google Analytics "Language" section
Would someone have had to insert that text into the lang attribute of whatever site linked to mine?
My real question is this: How can I remove this outlier from my data? The site is still fairly new, and we don't invest heavily in promoting it, but I want what little data I have to be reliable.
Side note: I'm new to web development and still learning. This site was built with WordPress. I would've loved to code it, but there wasn't time and I have multiple responsibilities outside of website maintenance, so any additional tips are appreciated.

SoundCloud Podcast -- non-developer query

I am not a developer, and I have been doing my best to get a response from SoundCloud, but it's taking a very long time (despite being a "pro" member) and I need to make a decision.
I am one of the beta SoundCloud podcasters. SoundCloud recommends that we use Feedburner to generate the RSS we submit to iTunes. However, my FeedBurner RSS has an issue (involving graphics) and I can't figure out how to edit the feed without killing it and starting anew there and with Apple.
In trying to figure out how to deal with Feedburner, I found the myriad of complaints and rumors suggesting Feednurner will soon be on the outs. I then tried going with a third party service (RapidFeeds) -- importing the (valid) SoundCloud RSS wasn't working there though, and customer support has not responded in 4 days of waiting. SoundCloud tech support says they have been having trouble with many of these 3rd party vendors.
So ... I'm back to either Feedburner -- which, unless I can figure out how to edit the feed -- means I'll kill it, redo it, and resubmit to Apple ... and face the uncertainty of whether it'll be around (with my subscribers) in a few months ...
OR
I could use the naked SoundCloud RSS -- which will definitely work with Apple -- but I will not be able to TAG the feed in any way, nor will I have any idea of subscriber stats. SoundCloud SAYS they plan to add tagging/other RSS functionality "in the next couple of months" ... but will they?
I could use your opinions on what to do. I need to make a decision quickly as I'm holding up a website launch for this. Thanks.
You didn't describe the actual problem you're having, or give your source and FeedBurner feed URLs, so my advice will be a little blind.
Login to FeedBurner, click on your feed, and go to the "Optimize" tab. Your podcast settings are under "SmartCast." If you're having trouble with your podcast cover art, then the "Image" field is what you need to change.
If this isn't your exact issue, please let us know more details.
Despite the potential doom of FeedBurner (I predict its retirement will be announced in 2013), you are right to use FeedBurner if you're using SoundCloud to host your podcast.
SoundCloud is not a podcasting service and it seems that they don't give you full freedom over your RSS feed. This is the lifeblood of your podcast. So using FeedBurner gives you a lot more control than SoundCloud's feed, but you're still sacrificing the control you would have of running your own website.
