I am working on a xamarin multiplatform application. I want to integrate dropbox with my application when I click on the dropbox button I need to redirect to the dropbox app to select the file.
You could refer to the third party libraries: Xamarin.Dropbox.Api:
Portable class library for accessing the Dropbox v2 API specifically for Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.iOS to fix a depedency issue with the standard package.

We would like to use Agora to develop a chat section in our Xamarin Forms App like this. Chat will also support voice messages, calls and video calls. On Agora's when I look at SDKs available there are various options like Flutter, ReactJS, Windows, Android, iOS and so on but I can't find Xamarin Forms as platform. On the web I found some NUGET packages like this for Xamarin Forms support, they look official but can't verify it. I found an example on github here, but It is for video calls and not RTM.
Please help!
I try to create a new project(xamarin form) in vs2019, and discovered that the UWP template is missing.
I created the project in vs2017 yet it did not work. now I have added a UWP project to the xamarin form app created using vs2019, how do I link them, how do I connect(refrence) the UWP to the portable library?
I want to make use of the portable library in xamarin forms that ha UWP in it, like vs2017 versions
In VS 2019 version 16.0.0 UWP head project have been removed from the Xamarin.Forms app template. However, if you install latest version of VS 2019 (16.0.1) that option should be available to you. According to the release notes:
Add option for Windows (UWP) platform when creating new Xamarin.Forms project from 'Mobile App (Xamarin.Forms)' project template.
Other then that you could just simply add UWP as a separate project and set it up for Xamarin.Forms.
I need to connect google drive with my xamarin forms application.
I have tried this code==>https://xamarindev.blog/2017/03/22/google-drive-api-with-xamarin-forms/
I take a reference project from github through this link https://github.com/Dineshbala1/GoogleDriveAPI-XamarinForms
In the above link the code is related to "Shared Project" and I'm work with xamarin forms ".Net standard".
So please guide me, how could I apply google drive API in my xamarin forms project?
Ask me if anybody need further clarification.
You must know that Xamarin Components are no longer supported in Visual Studio, and should be replaced by NuGet packages.
You can follow the instructions to manually remove component references from your projects from this documentation.

I just created a Blank Xamarin Portable Project in VS2015 Enterprise.
But I can't get xap file for Window Phone 8.1.
My project name is ABP so I have only ABP.dll, ABP.pdb, ABP.WinPhone.build.appxrecipe, ABP.WinPhone.exe etc.
I want my client to run using xap file on his win phone.
Is there a way for this?
Portable Project is simply a Class Library that gives you a DLL. Its not an application. For that purpose you must create WinPhone application or Xamarin.Forms application(it will create a WinPhone application for you). Once you create WinPhone app, right click to project and select Store->Create App Package then follow the commands.
Can I have a .NET Class Library project with Entity Framework 6.1.1 (in windowsazure.mobileservices.backend.entity nuget package) work with Xamarin.Forms PCL app? Is this achievable? If not what are the possible complications?
Question Background:
I am working on a Xamarin.Forms cross platform PCL app with Azure Mobile Services back-end, targeting Android, iOS, Windows 8.1 and WinPhone 8.1. I actually dont care about Windows 8.1 but Visual Studio does not allow me to remove this target. So it stays.
Azure Mobile Services is setup, but I need the tables to be generated automatically (strongly avoiding manually typing table definitions in azure portal). I decided to go EF code first way with windowsazure.mobileservices.backend.entity nuget package to achieve this. However, the Xamarin.Forms PCL project does not support additional assemblies.
I am thinking of adding this package into a separate class library project and referring to it from the PCL project.
Thanks for your help!
The EntityData type is the required superclass of DTOs on the server SDK. Unfortunately, it has dependencies that are not supported in a PCL project, so it has to be used with a full .NET 4.5 project.
You could instead use partial classes to share DTOs between client and server. Just put all of the non system property types in a common code file that's shared between client and server. Then, on the client, add the system property implementation (ID field, UpdatedAt optionally, Version optionally). On the server, add another partial class definition that inherits from EntityData.
