Visjs timeline edit content item template - vis.js

I'd like to be able to edit the content attribute of visjs timeline items in the timeline itself. However, when I use an input as part of a template, it doesn't appear to receive any mouse events; I can't click in it and type anything, and clicking buttons doesn't work, either. Buttons appear to get the mouseover event, though:
function test(item) {
alert('clicked');
}
var options = {
minHeight: '100%',
editable: true,
moveable: false,
selectable: false,
orientation: 'top',
min: new Date('2015-01-01'),
max: new Date('2015-12-31'),
zoomMin: 1000 * 4 * 60 * 24 * 7,
margin: {
item: 10,
axis: 5
},
template: function(item) {
return '<div onClick="test"><input value="click in the middle"></input><button onClick="test">test</button></div>'
}
};
/* create timeline */
timeline.on('click', function (properties) {
var target = properties.event.target;
if(properties.item) properties.event.target.focus();
});
https://codepen.io/barticula/pen/EpWJKd
Edit: Code above CodePen example have been updated to use the click event to focus on the input, but all other normal mouse behavior is missing. Keyboard events appear to function normally.

To get a reaction with a click on a timeline element, you can use the library's own events (see events on doc and this exemple on website).
On your example, you could do something like this among other possible solutions in pure javascript including...
// Configuration for the Timeline
var options = {
minHeight: '100%',
editable: true,
moveable: false,
selectable: false,
orientation: 'top',
min: new Date('2015-01-01'),
max: new Date('2015-12-31'),
zoomMin: 1000 * 4 * 60 * 24 * 7,
margin: {
item: 10,
axis: 5
},
template: function(item) {
return '<div id="test-div"><input placeholder="hey" type="text" id="inputTest" ><button id="test-button">test</button></div>'
}
};
// Create a Timeline
var timeline = new vis.Timeline(container, null, options);
timeline.setGroups(groups);
timeline.setItems(items);
timeline.on('click', function (properties) {
var target = properties.event.target;
if(properties.item) alert('click on' + target.id);
});
UPDATED
It is difficult to know exactly what you want to do because there are several possible solutions anyway.
Eventually, I propose another snippet below and a codepen updated.... but will it meet your need, not sure ?
2nd UPDATE (for another work track, see comments)
// Configuration for the Timeline
var options = {
minHeight: '100%',
editable: true,
moveable: false,
selectable: false,
orientation: 'top',
margin: {
item: 10,
axis: 5
},
template: function(item) {
return '<div><input placeholder="edit me..." type="text"></input><button>send value</button></div>'
}
};
// Create a Timeline
var timeline = new vis.Timeline(container, null, options);
timeline.setGroups(groups);
timeline.setItems(items);
timeline.on('click', function(properties) {
var target = properties.event.target;
var item = items.get(properties.item);
console.log(properties.event);
// if (properties.item && target.tagName === "DIV") focusMethod(target);
if (properties.item && target.tagName === "INPUT") target.focus();
if (properties.item && target.tagName === "BUTTON") getInputValue(item, target);
});
focusMethod = function getFocus(target) {
// target.insertAfter("BUTTON");
target.firstChild.focus();
}
getInputValue = function getValue(item, target) {
target.focus();
var inputValue = (target.parentNode.firstChild.value) ? target.parentNode.firstChild.value : "no value entered ";
alert("Input value : " + inputValue + " => send by: " + item.content)
}

Full Calendar v3 extending display beyond end of calendar year in List View

Good morning!
I have a list view set up in full calendar and have noticed that it will not display events beyond the end of the year. With it being now mid-December, this is a bit of a problem for me. We have several event that should be displaying in this list. When I change the view to month I have to click the next month button to get next years events, but at least with that I do sucessfully see the events in question.
Is there a way for my list view calendars to roll-over and include next year entries as I approach the end of the current year?
Here is an excerpt of what I have that effects the display of my calendar:
{url:'https://calendar.mydomain.com/services/id/38djsuw3hr-au8reh39dq/organization/1/department/13/',event_properties:{color:'#6a9b49'}},
]
function data_req (url, callback) {
req = new XMLHttpRequest()
req.addEventListener('load', callback)
req.open('GET', url)
req.send()
}
function add_recur_events() {
if (sources_to_load_cnt < 1) {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar('addEventSource', expand_recur_events)
} else {
setTimeout(add_recur_events, 30)
}
}
function load_ics(ics){
data_req(ics.url, function(){
$('#calendar').fullCalendar('addEventSource', fc_events(this.response, ics.event_properties))
sources_to_load_cnt -= 1
})
}
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar({
header: {
left: '',
center: '',
right: '' //view options on top-right (supported by v2.9.1 currently)
},
viewDisplay: function(view) {
parent.setIframeHeight(iframeId) ;
},
eventClick: function(event) {
// opens events in a new window or tab
window.open(event.url,);
return false;
},
// eventDataTransform: function(rawEventData){
// return {title: rawEventData.Title
// };
// },
defaultView: $(window).width() < 765 ? 'listYear':'listYear', //carryover code from full sized calendar
nowIndicator: false, //show a marker for current time
eventLimit: 4, // allow "more" link when too many events
fixedWeekCount: false, // have blank rows on a 6 or 7 row month
listDayFormat: 'MMMM Do',
listDayAltFormat: false,
allDayDefault: false,
noEventsMessage: "No Currently Scheduled Events"
})
sources_to_load_cnt = ics_sources.length
for (ics of ics_sources) {
load_ics(ics)
}
add_recur_events()
})
All I see is my "NoEventsMessage" text when in list view. If I create a test event the occurs prior to the end of the year it shows up in list view.
Any ideas on spanning calendar end?
thanks
[Edit: I should say that the link at the top is a JSON feed, so I am not using a prefilled list of events from within my script or from within an external file]
Here is how I solved it.
I created a custom view entry for the specific default view called "list" and gave it a one year duration:
views: {
list: {
duration: { days:365 }
}
},
I reset my default view from the dynamic version I carried over from my full-sized calendar (since I am using this in a column anyway and the window width call is not needed):
From:
defaultView: $(window).width() < 765 ? 'listYear':'listYear',
To:
defaultView: 'list',
After doing those things my January entries for next year began to display in list view.
Here is what my display calls look like (If someone wants to edit this to make it look prettier and more efficient, I don't mind :).
ics_sources = [
{url:'https://calendar.mydomain.com/services/id/38djsuw3hr-au8reh39dq/organization/1/department/13/',event_properties:{color:'#6a9b49'}},
]
function data_req (url, callback) {
req = new XMLHttpRequest()
req.addEventListener('load', callback)
req.open('GET', url)
req.send()
}
function add_recur_events() {
if (sources_to_load_cnt < 1) {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar('addEventSource', expand_recur_events)
} else {
setTimeout(add_recur_events, 30)
}
}
function load_ics(ics){
data_req(ics.url, function(){
$('#calendar').fullCalendar('addEventSource', fc_events(this.response, ics.event_properties))
sources_to_load_cnt -= 1
})
}
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar({
header: false,
viewDisplay: function(view) {
parent.setIframeHeight(iframeId) ;
},
eventClick: function(event) {
// opens events in a new window or tab
window.open(event.url,);
return false;
},
defaultView: 'list',
nowIndicator: false, //show a marker for current time
eventLimit: 4, // allow "more" link when too many events
fixedWeekCount: false, // have blank rows on a 6 or 7 row month
listDayFormat: 'MMMM Do',
listDayAltFormat: false,
noEventsMessage: "No Currently Scheduled Events",
views: {
list: {
duration: { days: 365 },
}
}
})
sources_to_load_cnt = ics_sources.length
for (ics of ics_sources) {
load_ics(ics)
}
add_recur_events()
})
Thanks.

font-awesome icon in display of combobox extjs 6

I tried several ways to set an icon, in the displayfield, when an item of the combo is selected with not luck, this is the fiddle for anyone to want try to help with this. very much appreciated any light.
fiddle example
The only solution is to transform the input type combo in a div with this:
fieldSubTpl: [
'<div class="{hiddenDataCls}" role="presentation"></div>',
'<div id="{id}" type="{type}" style="background-color:white; font-size:1.1em; line-height: 2.1em;" ',
'<tpl if="size">size="{size}" </tpl>',
'<tpl if="tabIdx">tabIndex="{tabIdx}" </tpl>',
'class="{fieldCls} {typeCls}" autocomplete="off"></div>',
'<div id="{cmpId}-triggerWrap" class="{triggerWrapCls}" role="presentation">',
'{triggerEl}',
'<div class="{clearCls}" role="presentation"></div>',
'</div>', {
compiled: true,
disableFormats: true
}
],
Override the setRawValue method of the combo like this:
setRawValue: function (value) {
var me = this;
me.rawValue = value;
// Some Field subclasses may not render an inputEl
if (me.inputEl) {
// me.inputEl.dom.value = value;
// use innerHTML
me.inputEl.dom.innerHTML = value;
}
return value;
},
and style your fake combo div like you want.
Thats because an input on HTML can't have HTML like value inside it.
Keep attenction, the get Value method will return you the HTML inside the div, and maybe you should also override it, but thats the only one method.
You will be able to get the selected value with this method:
Ext.fly(combo.getId()+'-inputEl').dom.innerHTML.replace(/<(.|\n)*?>/gm, '');
If I were you I would like to do something like this:
combo.getMyValue();
So add this property to your combo:
getMyValue:function(){
var combo=this;
if(Ext.fly(combo.id+'-inputEl'))
return Ext.fly(combo.id+'-inputEl').dom.innerHTML.replace(/<(.|\n)*?>/gm, '');
},
Here is a working fiddle
Perhaps my solution is similar to a hack, but it works in 6.7.0 and is a bit simpler.
Tested in Chrome. Theme - Material. For another theme will require minor improvements.
Sencha Fiddle live example
Ext.application({
name: 'Fiddle',
launch: function () {
var store = new Ext.data.Store({
fields: [{
name: 'class',
convert: function (value, model) {
if (value && model) {
var name = value
.replace(/(-o-)|(-o$)/g, '-outlined-')
.replace(/-/g, ' ')
.slice(3)
.trim();
model.data.name = name.charAt(0).toUpperCase() + name.slice(1);
return value;
}
}
}, {
name: 'name'
}],
data: [{
class: 'fa-address-book'
}, {
class: 'fa-address-book-o'
}, {
class: 'fa-address-card'
}]
});
var form = Ext.create('Ext.form.Panel', {

xtype: 'combobox',

valueField: 'class',
displayField: 'name',
store: store,
itemTpl: '<div><i class="fa {class}"></i> {name}</div>',
afterRender: () => {
var component = Ext.getCmp('iconcombo');
var element = document.createElement('div');
element.className = 'x-input-el';
element.addEventListener('click', () => component.expand());
component.inputElement.parent().dom.prepend(element);
component.inputElement.hide();
component.addListener(
'change', (me, newValue, oldValue) => {
component.updateInputValue.call(me, newValue, oldValue);
},
component
);
var method = component.updateInputValue;
component.updateInputValue = (value, oldValue) => {
method.call(component, value, oldValue);
var selection = component.getSelection();
if (selection) {
element.innerHTML =
'<div><i class="fa ' + selection.get('class') + '"></i> ' + selection.get('name') + '</div>';
}
};
}
}, {
xtype: 'button',
text: 'getValue',
margin: '30 0 0 0',
handler: function (component) {
var combo = Ext.getCmp('iconcombo');
alert(combo.getValue());
}
}]
});
form.show();
}
});

FullCalendar RefetchEvents very slow

I call calendar.refetchEvents(); inside an autorun Block to ensure the reactivity of the Scheduler (i'm using resource view) , when tested with big datasets , although i make sure to subscript to only a portion of 2 weeks worth of events , it's extremly slow .
my events arent Json based i'm using meteor and i loop over the events inside the Events function of the calendar .
are there some good fullcalendar practices i'm missing ?

I can see a number of non-Meteoric patterns in there that you should optimize out:
Your this.autorun will rerun anytime anything changes in your Schedules collection as well as for various user object changes (not just to the logged-in users but other users as well). Your autorun rebuilds your client-side data from scratch every time, including numerous joins. You could use a local collection to cache the joined data and then only add/change those documents when the underlying persisted document changes. This can be done with an observeChanges pattern. Or you could denormalize your data model a bit to avoid all those joins.
You're modifying the DOM by attaching events to a number of selectors using jQuery instead of using Meteor event handlers. This is also happening in your autorun which means you're attaching the same events to the same DOM objects repeatedly.
You use many Session variables and you use them repeatedly. These can be slow since they use browser local storage. You should .get() such data into a local variable once only and then refer to the local variable from then on.
Make sure that you only include fields in your Schedules publication that your code actually refers to on the client. The rest are overhead.

Sencha Touch: Ext.Map within TabPanel

I'm quite new to sencha touch. The goal is to create an app which has a TabPanel containing four Tabs, one of them should be a map (the others are a NestedList and two Panels working like a charm). I've tried to make the map card like
NPApp.views.Mapcard = Ext.extend(Ext.Map, { ...
where I ended up with getting really strange results like some views are overlapping and no map is shown.
The second try was to creating a Panel, embed it into the TabPanel and add a map to the panel, where I get this error:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'ROADMAP' of undefined;
sencha-touch-debug.js:24840
I've already tried to change the mapType to google.map.MapTypeID like mentioned in the Google Map API V3, no success there.
I just can't get the hang on it, hope you can give me some hints!
The App:
NPApp = new Ext.Application({
name: "NPApp",
title: "NextPuff",
icon: 'images/icon.png',
tabletStartupScreen: 'images/index_default.jpg',
phoneStartupScreen: 'images/index_default.jpg',
launch: function() {
this.views.viewport = new this.views.Viewport();
this.views.homecard = this.views.viewport.getComponent('navi');
}
});
The Viewport:
NPApp.views.Viewport = Ext.extend(Ext.TabPanel, {
fullscreen: true,
store: NPApp.npstore,
initComponent: function() {
Ext.apply(this, {
tabBar: {
dock: 'bottom',
layout: {
pack: 'center'
}
},
items: [
{ xtype: 'homecard', stretch: true},
{ xtype: 'searchcard', id: 'navi' },
{ xtype: 'mapcard' },
{ xtype: 'morecard' }
]
});
NPApp.views.Viewport.superclass.initComponent.apply(this, arguments);
}
});
The Mapcard:
NPApp.views.Mapcard = Ext.extend(Ext.Panel, {
title: "Map",
iconCls: "map",
initComponent: function() {
var npMap = new Ext.Map({
title: 'Map',
useCurrentLocation: true,
listeners: {
centerchange : function(comp, map){
// refreshMap(map);
}
},
mapOptions : {
mapTypeControl : false,
navigationControl : false,
streetViewControl : false,
backgroundColor: 'transparent',
disableDoubleClickZoom: true,
zoom: 17,
draggable: false,
keyboardShortcuts: false,
scrollwheel: false
}
});
Ext.apply(this, {
defaults: {
styleHtmlContent: true
},
items: [npMap]
});
NPApp.views.Homecard.superclass.initComponent.apply(this, arguments);
}
});
Ext.reg('mapcard', NPApp.views.Mapcard);
Sencha 1.1.0; Google JavaScript Maps API V3; Safari 5.1
I have a similar application running. Your tabpanel is perfect. All you need to alter is your map code.... Try this instead :
var map = new Ext.Map({
mapOptions : {
center : center,
zoom : 20,
mapTypeId : google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID,
navigationControl: true,
navigationControlOptions: {
style: google.maps.NavigationControlStyle.DEFAULT
}
},
listeners : {
maprender : function(comp, map){
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: center,
//title : 'Sencha HQ',
map: map
});
setTimeout( function(){map.panTo (center);} , 1000);
}
},
geo:new Ext.util.GeoLocation({
autoUpdate:true,
maximumAge: 0,
timeout:2000,
listeners:{
locationupdate: function(geo) {
center = new google.maps.LatLng(geo.latitude, geo.longitude);
if (map.rendered)
map.update(center)
else
map.on('activate', map.onUpdate, map, {single: true, data: center});
},
locationerror: function ( geo,
bTimeout,
bPermissionDenied,
bLocationUnavailable,
message) {
if(bLocationUnavailable){
alert('Your Current Location is Unavailable on this device');
}
else{
alert('Error occurred.');
}
}
}
})
});
This creates the map object and sets the center to ur current location. Now you need to dock this object inside an Ext.extend(Ext.Panel({}) object. Ive tried directly creating the map object but it needs a panel to display on.
So you're panel code should go something like so:
NPApp.views.Mapcard = new Ext.extend(Ext.Panel({
iconCls : 'map',
title : 'Map',
layout: 'card',
ui: 'light',
items: [map],
listeners:{
}
});
)
It took me ages of going thru a dozen or more examples to make the current location work. This is a combination of several codes and a bunch of stuff in the Google API.
Lemme know if you have any more questions about Google Maps or directions.
Cheers :)

JQGrid Inline Editing : Filter subcategory dropdown list based on another category dropdown

I have a category and a subcategory column in a Jqgrid. I have enabled inline editing, both category and subcategory are dropdownlists columns (edittype:'select'). I need to filter the subcategory list based on the selected category. I wonder how can I acheive this functionlity?
I tried the below event but its not working for me
afterEditCell: function(rowid, celname, value, iRow, iCol) {
//to do here
}
the above event doesn't get fired. my all column are editable
Thanks,
This question will be often asked. So I wrote a small code example which demonstrate how to implement such scenario with local data only (for jqGrid starting with 3.7.x). For data editing (inline editing) I use here the double-click event. The modified data will be saved after pressing of the "enter" key. For the filling of select elements I use ids. If you prefer use texts of the categories and subcategories instead you should remove formatter:'select' and make the corresponding changes in building of <option> elements (see code of dataEvents event handler).
var categories = ["sport", "science"];
var subcategories = ["football", "formel 1", "physics", "mathematics"];
var mydata = [
{Name:"Lukas Podolski", Category:0, Subcategory:0},
{Name:"Michael Schumacher", Category:0, Subcategory:1},
{Name:"Albert Einstein", Category:1, Subcategory:2},
{Name:"Blaise Pascal", Category:1, Subcategory:3}
];
var subcategoriesOfCategory = [
["football", "formel 1"],
["physics", "mathematics"]
];
var grid = jQuery("#list").jqGrid({
data: mydata,
datatype: 'local',
colModel: [
{ name: 'Name', width: 200 },
{ name: 'Category', width: 200, editable:true, formatter:'select',
edittype:'select', editoptions: {
value: categories,
dataInit : function (elem) {
var v = $(elem).val();
grid.setColProp('Subcategory', {
editoptions:{value:subcategoriesOfCategory[v]}});
},
dataEvents: [
{ type: 'change',
data: { id: 7 },
fn: function(e) {
var v=$(e.target).val();
var sel = grid.getGridParam('selrow');
grid.setColProp('Subcategory', { editoptions:
{value:subcategoriesOfCategory[v]}});
var res = '';
var sc = subcategoriesOfCategory[v];
for (var i=0; i<sc.length; i++) {
res += '<option role="option" value="' + i + '">' +
sc[i] + '</option>';
}
$("select#"+sel+"_Subcategory").html(res);
}
}
]
}
},
{ name: 'Subcategory', width: 200, editable:true, formatter:'select',
edittype:'select', editoptions: {value: subcategories} }
],
onSelectRow: function(id) {
if (id && id !== lastSel) {
grid.restoreRow(lastSel);
lastSel = id;
}
},
ondblClickRow: function(id, ri, ci) {
if (id && id !== lastSel) {
grid.restoreRow(lastSel);
lastSel = id;
}
grid.editRow(id, true);
return;
},
editurl: 'clientArray',
sortname: 'Name',
viewrecords: true,
rownumbers: true,
sortorder: "desc",
pager: '#pager',
caption: "Inline Editing example"
}).navGrid('#pager', { edit: false, add: false, del: false,
search: false, view: false });
This example can be of cause modified for the case of building of select option from the server.
