I know it's possible to use Google API vision to find similar images on the web.
My goal is to find similar images based on my database of images.
I don't want similar images on the web.
Is it possible?
If yes, can you guide me with some links or some advices?
Thanks!
The Google Vision API web detection feature can be used only to return the contents of the image as they relate to the Google Knowledge Graph, as well as the image's relation to other pages and images on the web.
Based on this, it is not currently possible to use it by specifying your own database of images; However, I suggest you to use the Send Feedback button located at the lower left and upper right corners of the Detecting other features public documentation in order to notify to Google about this desired functionality.
You can upload your images to google cloud and do the job.
You have 2 choices: Google product search or AutoML. With product search you can compare an image with a set of images of products. You will find product form image.
You can also use AutoMl, upload some images and train them. You can predict images with AutoMl API in this case.

Context: We (a retailer) want to offer our customers the option to upload a picture of a product that they got from our social media accounts, to get all the details about that product (Prices, Stock, description, Variables...etc).
The cognitive service should be able to match and identify which image is this from the image storage.
My question: Do you know a way to use the cognitive services for this use case?
You can use Custom Vision API for your scenario, as it allows you to upload images and label them (on your side), train your model so that you can then evaluate and tag new images (by your users) automatically, and then you can use the images uploaded by your users to improve your classifier.
I saw the deprecation message and the blog post by Google and I'm completely stumped on what will continue to work and what not.
I don't upload images to my account. I understand that this service will no longer be available.
What I do use, is this api: http://www.panoramio.com/map/get_panoramas.php, for showing images near locations on my website.
Will I be able to keep using it?
If so, until when? And shouldn't that be clearly stated?
If not, is there a parallel Google Maps api to get such images? I'm aware of Google Locations api, but I'm more interested in nearby outdoors images, and not places of business and named land marks.
Thank you.
UPDATE: as stated in the comment, the service is indeed down. The image urls we already have are still operational for another year, but we can't search for other existing images anymore. So we made the transition to Flickr. It was very easy and it works great.
It is stated in the link that you provide that after November 4, 2016, you’ll continue to have access to your photos in Panoramio for a year, but take note that you will no longer be able to add new photos, likes, or comments.
I suggest you to check this Google Static Maps API, it lets you embed a Google Maps image on your web page without requiring JavaScript or any dynamic page loading. The Google Static Maps API service creates your map based on URL parameters sent through a standard HTTP request and returns the map as an image you can display on your web page.
we use Microsoft Cognitive services to create automated search requests to Bing.
Web Search works fine as we are able to filter results to a specific site:
https://api.cognitive.microsoft.com/bing/v5.0/search?q=Donald Duck
site:etsy.com&count=10
What I'm not able to do is do the same with the image search api:
https://api.cognitive.microsoft.com/bing/v5.0/images/search?q=
site:artfire.com&count=10&modulesRequested=similarimages&imgUrl=https://img1.etsystatic.com/000/0/8236745/iusa_400x400.6291711.jpg
Can you assist? How do I search for similar images in a specific destination site?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
Bing Search doesn'tt support these for non-query based image-searches (i.e search by image-binary, search by image-url etc).
This is not an API specific limitation, it applies to www.Bing.com/images as well. In general, what’s not supported on www.bing.com/images will not be supported in image-API either
There seems to be no direct way to query a users google profile image with a specific resolution on Android. The documented approach is here: https://developers.google.com/identity/sign-in/android/people
That approach provides an image URL which is of a low resolution (using: GoogleSignInAccount's getPhotoUrl() method).
The corresponding approach on iOS does have a way to get the profile image by specifying a resolution as mentioned here:https://developers.google.com/identity/sign-in/ios/api/interface_g_i_d_profile_data#a8e229bffe211894473058c4ba247553c
The workaround suggested in one of the stackoverflow posts is to do a string replacement in the retrieved URL to get a larger image. Link: Photo size in getPhotoUrl() method Google Identity toolkit
Is there a better way to get a higher resolution google profile image on Android for Google Sign-in?
Is there any way to capture the image from a complicated Google Maps with some customize overlays like heat gradient. See figures:
Google static map API can only generate static maps(images) with simple polylines or markers, in my situation this is apparently not enough, I want user to capture this kind of images and share it in there twitter fb of g+
see Google Maps image?, it is a similar question. But not so useful in my situation
It's not allowed. See here:
https://developers.google.com/maps/faq#tos_screenshots
Use of Google Maps imagery in printed materials and offline media is
subject to the Permission Guidelines published at:
http://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines.html
you can request permission, but I don't think it's easy to obtain, unless you are a paying business customer.
