I wanted to use rsync to compare files from a local folder with a folder on the icloud drive.
But icloud drive files that are only online, have a different name
original:
file-name.txt
when the file is only on the cloud:
.file-name.txt.icloud

I am trying to find the path for iCloud folder, some people suggested ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/ but I couldn't find that directory.
That is the correct directory. You can't open it with the Finder (although it is the directory the Finder will show as iCloud Drive).
If you start Terminal, you can:
cd ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/
then run
ls -l to see the contents.
I need to know where the uploaded files are sent when a user upload a file like an image through php. The files are written direct to the destination directory in scripts or they uploaded to an tmp directory? In this case, would be nice if tmp directory were mounted with flags noexec and nosuid. With FPM PHP and NGINX, this is necessary? when I list the content of the directory /tmp while I upload an file, the directory is showing empty.
PS: the script is running as user that owner directory. I change the var tmp_upload_dir and when a file is uploaded, the directory still empty.
I have some files on remote host (in a directory) and I want to perform rsync in an atomic manner at directory level to pull files on local host (In a distributed setup). One way I could think of is a very trivial case when I can take files backup on local host and then replace the old files with the new files, but the approach is not efficient as far as disk space is concerned. e.g. files size is 10GB and diff is just 100 MB.
Is there a way to store just the rsync diff on local host in temporary location and then update the files on local host?
You could do it like this:
Run rsync between local host and a temp folder in remote host. To make sure you only get the diff, use the --link-dest option and link to the real folder in remote host.
You'd basically have a command like this:
rsync --link-dest="/var/www" --archive "/localhost/path/www/" "remote#example.com:/var/www_update_20131129"
(With /var/www being the files to update and /var/www_update_20131129/ being the "temp" folder)
Once the rsync operation is done, you can swap the www_update_20131129/ and real www/ folders in remote host (possibly by soft-linking www/ to www_update_20131129/).
I have a network drive as diwakar(\192.168.204.45) . i want to copy files from this network drive to c:\users\ How to write a batch file for this work.
Try this - it is designed to map the drive using your credentials and then robocopy can mirror the drive to the "c:\users\peter\network drive" folder.
Be careful: Mirroring is a very powerful tool which will delete files if you aren't careful with the target folder name.
#echo off
net use z: "\\192.168.204.45\share" /user:yourname
if exist "z:\" robocopy "z:\" "c:\users\peter\network drive" /mir
The solution is: xcopy /e \192.168.204.45\diwakar*.* "c:\users\" it will copy every thing present from share drive and move into the destination folder.
I shared a folder containing a .bat file which calls/run a jar file from same folder. I need to run that .bat file(present on remote system's shared folder) from my system. It run successfully if that folder is on my system but if i run the same file from shared folder of remote system it gives message "cannot access jar file."
