QML App full screen/immersive mode on Android and iOS - qt

I made a very simple Qt Quick Application (all using QML) and want it to appear as full screen/immersive mode on android. How can I achieve that?

You can achieve it with QML in ApplicationWindow:
ApplicationWindow {
//...
visibility: Window.FullScreen
}

Android creates an "activity" instance (android "view") before your/any Qt code runs. This view/activity decides whether the "title bar" of android is shown or not, so you will need to modify the parameters with which this view/window is created. I believe this can't be done at runtime of your app (you could make two activities and switch between them though).
Your Qt-project needs an AndroidManifest.xml to be deployed with your compiled code. If you didn't add one yourself then the default one gets pulled during deployment, but you can override it with your own file. The parameters needed to go fullscreen can be set in this file. Unable to add an image in the storyboard editor in Visual Studio to create a splash screen for Xamarin.iOS

I'm trying to add a splash screen to an iOS app built using Xamarin.Forms. I'm able to get the splash screen itself to display, but I'm unable to add an image to an ImageView in the storyboard editor.
I can replicate this behavior in a brand-new "Cross Platform" solution, and I'm following the instructions here. Specifically, at step 10 in the instructions, you're supposed to be able to select the image from a dropdown.
If you actually click on the arrow of what only appears to be a dropdown, however, nothing actually "drops down"; instead VS opens an OpenFileDialog entitled "Add Existing Item".
No matter what file I choose, VS only adds it to the project's Resource folder (as a BundleResource), but doesn't change the image in the storyboard at all.
I've tried adding the images to the Asset Catalog as both a Launch Image and a regular Image Set. I've tried typing either a filename or an asset set name into the editable part of the "dropdown"; no luck. I've also tried editing the storyboard XML to add an image= attribute (to the ImageView tag), again using either a filename or an asset set name, but it doesn't work, and subsequent saves from the storyboard editor actually remove the attribute. I also tried explicitly adding the entire "Assets.xcassets" folder to the project, as suggested by one of the answers here.
FWIW, the property labeled "Highlighted", directly under "Image", also has the same behavior. I'm assuming this is a VS bug of some sort; the behavior of the property is different not only from what's described in the docs, but conflicts with the appearance of the control.
Has anyone come across a workaround?

How to set icon to an adobe air application

I am developing an Adobe Air app. I need to set an icon to the app so it is shown on the task bar. I added the icon tag to the descriptor file but it is not working and I really don't know why, any ideas?
Two things that might be throwing you off:
1) the icons block is commented out by default in the auto-generated descriptor file, and is an easy thing to overlook
2) the icons specified in a descriptor file don't appear in the app unless you build a release build, and install the resulting .air file. A debug build will only show the AIR icon.
At least these are the behaviors I experience in Flash Builder 4.
Adding the icons to your application descriptor should do it.
However, icons come in different sizes.

If I'm not mistaken, the 32x32 icon should be the one that is displayed in the taskbar.
Obviously, make sure that you are referring to the correct path in your descriptor file.
One more thing. I just wasted over an hour on this: For an iOS app, you won't see the icon when you drop the app into iTunes (at least not under Windows), but it will appear on your device!

how can launcher icon image name in mobile flex project using eclipse indigo?

I am building an mobile flex app in eclipse indigo and have my app worked almost to completion and about ready for deployment. Unfortunately, I cannot find how to change the app icon and title for the system to read, so my app still shows up as Main with the default package symbol in the launcher. Does anyone know where to apply changes to these properties?
There are properties in your app-config file. If you main application file is Main.mxml; then most likely your app config is named Main-app.xml. Look for the icon tag to specify the app icon. One of my apps uses something like this:

Modify icon of the Flex application for Blackberry-Playbook

Has anybody please found a way to modify/replace the icon of a Playbook program?
Like display a red star on it - to indicate there is new message for the user.
I've tried tracing NativeApplication.supportsDockIcon and NativeApplication.supportsSystemTrayIcon properties, but they are both false on Playbook simulator.
What you're asking (dynamically changing the icon once the app is installed) is not currently possible. That will require OS support which is not available and hasn't even been mentioned publicly yet.
The reason it's not possible currently without an API is that everything in your .bar is written to a folder which is read-only to the app itself, icon file and MANIFEST.MF file included.
Edit your blackberry-tablet.xml and add

Adobe AIR: Controls flipped (mirrored) in certain build environments

I'm having an issue where certain controls are flipped, depending on the machine that I'm building my project on. On my development machine, when I build it, everything is okay. However, when I build it on our build server, some things are flipped. It seems to be things that are on a higher layer - for instance, options in the select control (see first image below), alerts/overlays (see second image below), etc. It's not just the text, either - the entire content is flipped, images and all.
I have verified that the code is exactly the same in both instances, so it must have something to do with settings or the flex SDK version. On my development machine, the Flex SDK version is 4.0.0.14159, and on the build server, the Flex SDK version is 4.1.0.16076. I can downgrade the SDK on the build server if needed - but could it really be an issue with the SDK? Any ideas?

It looks like this will be fixed in the 4.5 SDK--see SDK-26473 for workarounds.
I was able to fix the mirroring by turning off Flex 3 Compatibility Mode in the Flex compiler settings (if using mxmlc, -compatibility-version=4.0).
Your build machine must be set to a locale which uses right-to-left text, such as Hebrew or Arabic keyboard setting.

The answer to this problem is in the bug he linked to. You need to explicitly set the layout direction. You can do this in one of two ways.
1) in a .css file that you import into your main application file:
