how to have a perfect responsive css circles? [duplicate] - css

This question already has answers here:
A grid layout with responsive squares
(5 answers)
Closed 5 years ago.
In process of learning flexbox, and confused about having perfect CSS circles that are responsive. How do I do that? As it stands, my current code has circle1, circle2, and circle3 at 100 width, and height. I don't want to hard-code their height but rather make it responsive. Is there a way to have a perfect circle in %? So it scales each time the browser is resized?
Or are media queries the only option to fix this?
Thank you for your help.

The question now is How to have a perfect responsive css square? Because when you have a square, you will easily have a circle with border-radius: 50%. Now you can found so many solution for it in SO. Here is a nice solution with flexbox item.
.flex-container {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
display: flex;
}
.flex-item {
background: tomato;
margin: 5px;
color: white;
flex: 1 0 auto;
border-radius: 50%;
}
.flex-item:before {
content:'';
float:left;
padding-top:100%;
}
<div class="flex-container">
<div class="flex-item ">
</div>
<div class="flex-item ">
</div>
<div class="flex-item ">
</div>
</div>

Updated answer
I reworked the flex containers to a minimal working example. The flex-items should all be set to
flex: 1 1 auto /* flex-grow flex-shrink flex-basis */
This allows the circle h1 flex-items to grow and shrink as necessary. It might be necessary to use js to obtain the height of a circle from its expanded width when you apply the example to your code.
Hope this helps.

body {
margin: 0;

How can I stop overlapping(and somehow image 'dissapearing) in the .container element - desktop media query when i put align-items: ... => responsive

I have tried putting flex: 1 on both child elements of the .container(responsive - media query), and it's not working. Somehow my image (.container-img (div element)) is 'hiding'/overlapping/not showing.
I do not know where the issue might be in this case.
I would appreciate if someone more experienced took a look at this issue. Thank you!

Actually, i found the solution to this problem, which of course is pretty simple one. I have been focusing on the parent instead of a child element .container-desc specifically to put 'justify-items: center'. Lack of concentration.

React fixed navbar with flexbox

so I'm trying to create my blog using the react framework, but I'm facing an issue here.
I really have been trying to tweaks settings on the css, html or even try to switch to grid instead of flexbox but I can't figure out how to make the "fixed" navbar detected by the flexbox.
Currently, the navbar works fine I guess, but the content that is supposed to be on the right, is not taking the place it should, it's taking the entire screen instead of the rigth section next to the navbar.
Some help would be highly appreciated !

Force 100% height and vertically align content in FlexBox Columns

I've looked at many other questions and answers, but can't figure out why I can't force 100% height on some flexbox columns - i.e., "Genre" with one line of text to match the height of "Song & The Artist" with two lines - while also vertically aligning and centering all text:

Centering flexbox content after a linebreak

I am trying to center text inside a parent element of limited width. However the text is set in a large font, which might cause a line-break. However the element line-break does not decrease the width of the element. Is there a way to center a text inside a parent wrapper if the text does not fit?
You can find a failing example in the stack-overflow code sample. The top box has a line-break and should still be centered.
.wrapper {
width: 900px;
margin: 0 auto;
background: lightgrey;
}
.box {
display: flex;
align-items: center;
justify-content: center;
width: 300px;
height: 200px;
border: 1px solid green;
}
.box:nth-child(1) {
background: green;
font-size: 45px;
}
.box:nth-child(2) {
background: orange;
}
<div class="wrapper">
<div class="box"><h3>Lorem Ipsum</h3></div>
<div class="box"><h3>Lorem Ipsum</h3></div>
</div>
Just add the text-align: center;
.wrapper {
width: 900px;
margin: 0 auto;
background: lightgrey;
}
.box {
display: flex;
align-items: center;
justify-content: center;
/* text-align: center; */
width: 300px;
height: 200px;
border: 1px solid green;
}
.box > * {
flex: 0 0 50%;

}
<div class="wrapper">

<div class="box"><h3>Lorem Ipsum</h3></div>

You can use width:min-content; with the first child (https://caniuse.com/#feat=intrinsic-width)

How to expand background from flexbox grid text & images with equal height

I have done a flexbox grid, it combines text cells with image cells. All the cells have the same height in each resolution, also text cells. Text cells have the text centered vertically, and this is a must. Now I need to assign each text cell a different background-color, but here I have the problem.
With align-items: center the text is centered vertically, but the background color is only applied to the text. Without align-items: center the background expands to all the cell, but the content is not centered vertically.
Here is the codepen
Any suggestions in how to achieve the two features at same time?
vertically centered text
different background-color for each text cell
Thanks!

Use transforms instead of flexbox to vertically center the text.
1) Remove align-items: center from the .wrap-items class
2) Adjust the .wrap-items .item > .text class like this:
.wrap-items .item > .text {
padding: 10px;
font-size: 20px;
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
transform: translateY(-50%);
}
