I want to make a flat UI with java fx.I am using NetBeans and scene builder.Does anyone know how to make the accordion looks like a flat design and to change its colour?
I tried to change the colour using -fx-background-color. But it didn't work.

In a C++ Qt6 desktop application I would like to display a schematic drawing of an industrial process (which I have in SVG format), overlayed with some ui widgets, like radio buttons and combo-boxes, that represent configurable parameters.
It looks like this can be achieved with QSvgRenderer, but there is a problem:
the rendered svg will not be theme-aware.
Is there any way to modify the colors used by this renderer, without parsing and manipulating the SVG myself to edit the color values?
We can assume that all SVG elements are the same color.
Alternatively, can I do something else with my SVG schematic, that does not involve manually drawing it again e.g. in QPainter, but still accomplishes my original goal?
I want to change the background color of my Vaadin app on the valueChange event of a OptionGroup component.
As there are a fairly big number of layouts on my page, what would be the best is to change every HorizontalLayout and VerticalLayout background-color, but every new component that could be added should have this color too.
How can I achieve that? Thanks.
Two approaches come to mind.
The simplest, conceptually, as well as in terms of implementation, would be to have a single component to serve as the background, and give your HorizontalLayout and VerticalLayout components a transparent background. If you're layout is too complex for this, you can have a number of base 'background' components, again, with your layout components on top being transparent. The idea is to reduce the components whose color you need to change to something manageable.
If that approach doesn't translate to your use case, you can always use JavaScript to select the layout components on the fly and redefine their background. This could be made more manageable by giving all the layout components a common CSS class (eg: 'dynamic-background').
JavaScript.getCurrent().execute("$('.dynamic-background').css('background-color', 'purple')");
Note that this JavaScript depends on JQuery, have a look around for more details on integrating JQuery with Vaadin:

i am looking forward to make a welcome screen of my web app like the picture i shown..
here is a pic of example:
http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/4144/1j5h.png
The truth is i have tested many almost all the panels that GWT has to offer, and still i cannot make it.
For example:
The upper header, i made it with a DockLayoutPanel like this:
DockLayoutPanel Header = new DockLayoutPanel(unit.PCT);
header.setStyleName(¨fw¨);
header.setWidht("100%");
header.setHeight("35px");
header.addEast(ingresar,15);
header.addEast(pass,15);
header.addEast(user,15);
Using that panel, i can have all the 2 boxes and the button on the right corner of the screen, and with AUTO-WITDH.
*(even i cannot pad the red button)..
As you can check the horizontal Center Panel has a different style, i create it as Horizontal Panel, but when i do :
header.add(center_panel);
It is useless, the css from header will ofuscate the css from horizontal panel, also i cannot get the box right in the CENTER.
i have zero experience in GWT, i would like if someone can tell me the way, because i am using panels and i am not quite sure that i am using the right ones for this tasks, or the best ones.
THanks very much

If you don't have much experience in GWT components try creating the UI with using GWT UI Binder. Its much more similar to creating a layout with html and css. Also you can use most of the html elements such as divs,spans etc.. GWT Uibinder
You can give styles on individual panels like,
for horizontal,
HorizontalPanel hp=new HorizontalPanel();
hp.setStyleName("");
I love designing my userinterfaces in qtdesigner because its just so damn simple. However, there is always space in between widgets and their parents which i want to eliminate.
Example of problem
I create a simple dialog and add a webview to it. Then layout horizontally.To make the parent more obvious I modify its css to make its background color green
Voila, I want to get rid of the green sections because in my view they make the program look ugly.

Download ui file from my dropbox
or get it from pastebin
In Qt Designer, select your top level widget (in this case Dialog), then look at the Property Editor on the right-hand sidebar. Scroll all the way down and you'll see a section referring to the layout assigned to that widget. You want to change the layoutLeftMargin, layoutRightMargin, etc. properties.
I inherited a code project and am tasked with redesigning the GUI with Qt's Style Sheets.
There is a subclassed QtTreePropertyBrowser which I've styled to change the background colors/font color, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the appearance of the branch indicator icons. They're almost invisible on the new dark background, like such:
Doing some googling, I found this example.
But from my experimenting so far, it hasn't worked. Reading the documentation, it seems that QtTreePropertyBrowser inherits from QTreeView, but I don't know why it's not working. Any insights?
