I am trying to automatically display an image inside the header of a Facebook instant article. I'm using Wordpress default RSS feed. Is there a way to automatically append the featured image of the post to the instant article header or you should always edit the markup from the publishing tools?
Thank you
You can use Instant Article WP Plugin
It automatically generates feed located at /feed/instant-articles.
Instant articles from this feed will have header image from post's "feature image".

So I create a new post in Wordpress.
I use the Gutenberg image block to upload an image.
When I scrape the post at the Facebook sharing debugger it displays another random image from my library and tells me no og:image is set.
There's only one image -- how to add the og:image tag?
The og:image tag will contain only the "featured image" of your WP post. If there is no featured image, social media sites will probably use/display the first "regular" image appearing in your post, but there's no guarantee for that.
You might want to use the "Yoast" plugin, this will most likely try to achieve this automatically.
I am using "Facebook instant articles" feature for my WordPress website.
The instant articles are being generated without any error, and I can see them while using the Facebook app. In the generated instant article only first five lines of the original article's content are displaying. The rest of the content from the article is coming as a hyperlink. Users need to click on READ MORE link which comes after five lines. The link will redirect the user to original link via the browser.
Things I have tried:
I have checked if there is any option for including all the text from an article in STYLE EDITOR in Facebook page's publishing tools section. But didn't find any option there.
If I disable Divi builder everything is working fine. When I enable builder plugin, read more (hyperlink) is coming.
Some more information:
I have not yet tried API option for generating instant articles.
I am using default style editor.
I am using official Facebook instant articles for WP plugin for generating instant articles.
I am not using RSS feed option.
I am using Divi Builder plugin.
Question: How to display all the content from the article in facebook instant article?
I want to insert content from other blogs into my blog page.
Lets say there is a blog with content and images...
I want to display all of that content on my blog page in wordpress.
But the technique should be dynamic...e.g if the content updates then the content
on my blog page should also update.
What is the proper method to do this ?
does this page have an rss feed? if so, then you can use an rss feed plugin for wordpress to create posts for you. if not, then you will have to create your own script to download the data and post to your blog.
I've customized the rss feed for scottwclifton.com here: feeds.feedburner.com/scottclifton
Where is the tag. I need the full content to display on the RSS feeds somewhere so I can use them in my mailings but it looks like there is only a description for each blog. Help? I'm using Genesis Theme and haven't set up anything that I know of out of the ordinary.
The original feed is truncated, which means that if you want the feedburner feed to have the full content, you need to original feed to have the full content.
The original feed seems to be a wordpress feed. In your blog's settings, check the reading section and make sure the "Full Text" radio button is enabled by "For each article in a feed, show".
I've been asked to integrate a blog into an existing website.
The blog content will be hosted with an external blog provider (im thinking wordpress and blogger) and I would then import the posts onto the clients site via an ATOM feed as this is the simplest way I can see of doing all this.
The issue I'm facing is that when the blog list is displayed on the clients site they want to use a grid based layout with a cover image. Another stipulation of the design is that the cover image should also not be part of the actual blog post content.
Ideally it would be great if the blogging provider (wordpress/blogger) supported uploading additional metadata and images that do not go into the blog post's HTML content.
I cant find any way of doing this currently and am wondering if I have any options other than rolling my own mini blogging platform for the client or installing wordpress locally and setting that up.
Any ideas?
WordPress will let you upload a custom header image. See: http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Headers - this will be useful if you want the same header image on every page. If you want a different header image 'per post' then you'll need a plugin to do that. There are some good plugins that do that in the WP plugin repo: http://wordpress.org/plugins/
