I want that when my Meteor App detected server changes, it will show a confirm dialog to the user whether to update or not. If the user choose "no", the App will not update itself even it is restarted. Then the user will have to press an update button on the settings page for example if he wants to update in the future.
Now I know how to popup the confirm dialog (How to upgrade a meteor app), but still having no idea about suppressing the auto-update mechanism (HCP) when the App is restarted.

On the high level, I have a PWA with React frontend and .netcore backend. I use service worker for caching and offline ability, in conjunction with workbox plugins for some precaching feature.
The app uses Windows Authentication. Which works fine if it wasn't a PWA app. It also works fine the first time the PWA app launches, I get the username, password login popup.
However from the second time visiting the app, it wouldn't show the login popup, the app fails at pulling data from the backend because it is unauthenticated. One weird behavior is that, if I open Chrome Dev Tools(by F12), then the login popup immediately shows up.
I thought it's caching related and somehow the service worker interfered with the server side authentication workflow. Maybe because the index page is cached by the workbox precache plugins, and it did not cache with the fetch header of 'credentials': 'include'? I tried adding the fetch option to other api routes, which are cached by workbox plugin RegisterRoute. However I didn't find a way to add it to the precacheAndRoute(self.__WB__MANIFEST). Wondering if that's the problem. But I'm also not sure why having Dev Tools open would trigger the popup to display.
Any input is appreciated.
I've built an app in App Maker and deployed it, but the user I thought I had given permission to is getting this notification "Sorry, you don't have access to this application."
In the app, I added a role to the data source and added the user to the role from the deployment. I also added the role to each page's security. I verified that App Maker is turned on for all of our users. I've ensured that the user has access to the Google Sheet data tables (both what I imported into the App for preview and the data I exported from the deployment). I've even added the user as a Cloud Sql Viewer in our Cloud SQL instance (don't know if that was necessary). This is my first app and I feel like I'm flying blind. I'm obviously missing something but can't figure out what. Any help is much appreciated!
Make sure all the required models can be accessed by the role you assigned to the user.
If the user has another Google account in the same Chrome session, the browser may be switching them to this external user when opening the app. Sign-out from that account or try incognito.
Make sure the deployment has no restriction as shown here; or if it does, allow the username.
i'm developing an app using phonegap.
i'm using inappbrowser plugin to display my asp.net pages where my users login and get connected to my server.
how can i let the users login just once then the next time they open the app they get automatically connected without the need to login again?
thanks
1) you can use localstorage to save credentials. But bad idea. Cause localstorage life cycle isn't good enough. Specially iPhone treats localstorage as temporary storage
2) You can use database like webSql to save the credentials in your app. Make a ASP service in your website to link up your app and website. Save the credentials at first time inside your app. In the second time check if credentials exists in your app database, if exists then log him in through that ASP service page without the knowledge of the app user.
There are the ways I could think of. I don't know if there any cache or session style exists in inAppBrowser. If exists may be others will help you with that.
PurchReqApproval workflow stopped working, that is all the workflow's messages are in pending state. There were no modifications made to objects related to that workflow (maybe except EDTs).
I am thinking this issue might be consequence of changing server admin password. Any hints how and where can I check/fix outdated password in IIS/AX/Services?
Go to your IIS manager and then click on application pools. Find the relevant one and right click on it and do advanced settings, then look at its identity (username) and click the ellipse .... Try setting the password again and recycling the app pool and/or doing an iisreset.
I have the following scenario: a Silverlight application (constructed to be OOB) embedded at an ASP.NET website where, if the user already installed it, a label saying that is displayed; otherwise, an install button appears. Eventually I can update the .xap file available in the website.
Now the problem: if the user executes the application through his Desktop/Start Menu, i'm able to update the application and suggest the user to restart it. But, if I update the .xap file and upload it again to the website, apparently no "Silverlight update" occurs, it is displayed as a new application (if the user install it again, an application icon is displayed at his desktop).
Is there something I'm missing or there's nothing to do about this?
Thanks!
Signing the Silverlight application solves the problem.
When you run in a browser, updates are picked up right away (subject to HTTP caching rules). With OOB apps you need to use the App.Current.CheckAndDownloadUpdateAsync() method in your app to have it update.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.application.checkanddownloadupdateasync(v=vs.95).aspx
The only drawback is that there is no way to just check for an update and give the users an option to download it conditionally; calling this always updates it if there is an update. You can however hook into the event and find info about the update should you wish. See this resource for more information: http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/p/180931/408554.aspx
