I would like to edit a separation section on my website to remove an empty space below it, nothing too fancy just basically going from this:
to this:
Seemed pretty easy to me but when I went looking for the css file to edit that class I couldn't find it, the editor tells me it is the (index) file located at the root of the website but I don't have such css file in there.
Any help on where to add the missing line?
Thank you by advance.
Try
.page .page-wrap .content-wrapper{
padding-bottom: 0 !important;
}
If doesn't work reply with website URL.

Ive got a link showing up in my wordpress menu that is not present in back end (the costumizer). The link/element only shows up in front end/the live page. I've been in touch with the theme support but they only said it was not from the theme. The code does not either give me an explenation to where it comes from. The code for the element is the following:
Register
LOL I CAN't even write the code without it showing up as only "Register" above.
I want to remove it. I have searched and tried different solutions on this forum but cannot find a way to remove the element.
So far I've tried to add the following code to the "costum css" in the costumizer with no result:
a[href='register']{ display: none }
I am not an expereinced code man. So please excuse my lack of explenation.
See code from inspect in picture below:
Picture from inspect. The element I want to remove is the >Register just where the pink ends
This is a picture of the menu. As you can see the "Register" link I want removed does not even get the same styling as the other elements in the menu..
Any one know how to remove this element? I've been struggeling for so long trying to find a solution.
Thanks!
It is likely added to the menu object by one of the plugins you have installed on the site.
Try turning off your plugins one-by-one and checking to see if it goes away.
you can try
.left-menu li:last-child { display: none; }
or
.left-menu li:not(.menu-item) { display: none; }
How to access images that are one folder above. The background-image does not appear in the html because of wrong directory or reference.
background-image:url("imgs/hours.png");
#schedules{
float: left;
margin-left:10%;
background-image: url(file:///C|/wamp/www/web/crosscafe/imgs/hours.png);
}
span {
font-weight:bold;
}
As said before, and just to make sure, if you're using WAMP you need to access the webpage through the localhost or any address that was provided for that purpose. Accessing through file:// normally ignores most of the server-side usage WAMP provides you with.
That being said, I think your problem is fairly simple. If you are using a framework file structure you probably have the following strcture:
imgs/
css/
js/
index.html
So, and since you're working on your CSS which is in the css subfolder, your URL needs to be the following:
background-image:url("../imgs/hours.png");
The two points (../) tell the browser to go to the parent folder, then into the imgs folder and then search for hours.png.
First of all, you should only comment css using /* and */. // in css will not be treated as comment at all.
For your problem, you should use firebug to make sure that your element which id is schedules have a appropriate height and width.
And, if you are using WAMP, access your website from a URL start with http://, that page could not display a image stored on your local side, I mean, via file://. This is prohibited by your broswer. You should use the relative path instead, and the relative path is start from your css file.
So you can try this:
#schedules{
float: left;
margin-left:10%;
background-image: url(imgs/hours.png);
height: 100px;
width: 100px;
}
and save "imgs" near your css file.
If you still have problems, I think you should paste your HTML on.
If you try to display an image from that imgs directory in other place in your website, does it is shows? If not, it can be your .htaccess file. It might be blocking the access to your images dir.
I am trying to implement a js accordion I found and I'm having problems with it. The titles are supposed to cleanly slide up to the top of the page and drop the content below. That is not what is happening. There is some obvious jumpiness going on when you look at it. It's not smooth at all. I don't know much about js so please explain your answers carefully. Thanks so much!
http://imip.rvadv.com/accordion.html
EDIT:
After replacing the js with the default file from the site I got it from, nothing changed. Here is a jsfiddle for it
http://jsfiddle.net/imakeitpretty/ruwjn/
Check this: http://jsfiddle.net/luissanchezm86/ruwjn/4/
The problem wasn't the .js, and you don't have to write it all on jsfiddle, since it's JQuery UI, you can simple check it to include it, if it's another external .js, use it as a resource, check fiddle's documentation for that.
Besides that, the other problem was your CSS markup, you had a lot of duplicated classes in that fiddle, it was a bit of a mess.
The main problem with the jumping was the:
.st-accordion ul li.st-open > a{
margin-top: 70px;
}
I just commented that margin-top: 70px;, and it fixed 75% of the problem, I recommend you to use the css that I arrange on the jsfiddle.
Hope it helps you!
UPDATE
Now, if you want to scroll all the way up like http://jsfiddle.net/luissanchezm86/ruwjn/5/ you need to make the body higher on height:
body {
height: 2000px;
}
After looking at your code, you appear to be using this plugin:
http://tympanus.net/codrops/2011/10/12/flexible-slide-to-top-accordion/
If you go to that page, it has the javascript options you need to control the animation speeds, as well as a working example which is more smooth than yours.
So i have my website, www.alphenweer.nl, and that uses some images in the template.
Now the images are on the right url, they work fine, but when i load my website the images won't load? You can try it here. Please help, why won't the images load?
Greetings
Ok, so I gave a look at your css :
#header {
border-bottom: 1px solid black;
width: 985px;
background-image: url('http://images.alphenweer.nl/i/header-winter.png');
text-align: center;
height: 250px;
}
Even when I copy the url in my browser, I got a 404, so the image isn't on your webserver.
Ahh no! I found my own answer. I needed to reupload the css files, i forgot =)!
God, i'll understand when you guys are gonna thumb down! =)
if other images are loading and some are not loading on same location then it is due to hyphen that you have in your image name.
Hyphen in names gives problem in many places. Not only in CSS but when access database and table tables, directories and file names etc. So, try to avoid hyphen instead use underscore.
But I do not know why hyphen give problem. If anyone know that, pleas share your knowledge.
I have a folder called "Images" inside my IDE and I want to access this file for my CSS property background-repeat:repeat;
How do I "call" it?
images/background.png isn't working! :(
EDIT: Here's the solution showing the hierarchy. Any help? :)
EDIT3:
I've got this now on my CSS:
body
{
background-color: #FFFFFF;
background-image: ../../Images/BackgroundPatternAlt.png;
background-repeat:repeat;
}
According to my solution explorer picture, it should work but it isn't. Any help?
ps. To clarify my CSS can modify my page properly because if I change the background-color, everything changes properly. The error must be inside the background-image address. T_T
The background images you define inside CSS is always relative to the path of the CSS (if you do not explicitly say not to).
So, if you want to use:
background: url(images/background.png) repeat;
...the CSS-file must be located in the "parent"/root of the images-folder, so I suggest you move the Images folder into App_Themes/Default.
Depends where the css file is in relation to the image. Is the .css file in a folder off the root? If so try "../images/background.png"
Depending on your web-server, pathnames can be case sensitive, so it would be:
Images/background.png
Edit: If your Images folder is in the document root of the web-server, you can always use:
/Images/background.png
As I see the picture, you must try yet another level up, at this path: ../../../Images/
Try '../../images/background.png' if the folder structure remains the same as in your Solution Explorer.
