Adding a user-filled value as well as a pick value for google appmaker - google-app-maker

I would like to define a field, where there is a list of allowed values as well as give user the option to type it in. For example, I list a bunch of previous jobs that the applicant can have, plus have them pick other and fill it in as well.
Is it possible to do this with one field or do I need two fields where the user has to type it in? Is there a doc. or sample or tutorial I can look up? Thanks.

Here is a super simple Tags sample:

To cover your exact use case you just need to:
Add logic to check if record already exists
1.1 If record doesn't exist, then create one
Create relation between records
If you don't care about duplicates in your database, then you can skip step 1 and always do 1.1 and 2.

Merge ACF fields into another ACF field

I'm building an athlete profile database using ACF (Advanced Custom Fields). I have fields for First Name, Last Name, and Full Name. Athletes will be able to enter their first and last names on the front end of the website when they are creating a profile. I don't want them to enter their full name also because that's a bad user experience. But I need the full name on the backend. Is there a way to have the Full Name text field auto-generated by merging the values of First Name and Last Name? I don't want to enter the full name manually. Thanks!
with this kind of thing you are wanting to combine 2 fields into 1 record it may just be easier to ask for the full name in 1 field this is not a bad user experience as much as you may think more people actually find it more annoying needing to put different parts of there name in different boxes.
However if this is what you are wanting to move forward with I did find this which may be of some assistance Wordpress/ACF merging multiple fields value to one

Generate and display html table with user data from wordpress

Update: With the help of the answerer below I figured out how to do this. Basically I used a WP Query to get users and their user metadata and I sorted and placed the data in a for each loop in a table.
I'm new to PHP and I need some help. Basically I want to create a leaderboard with different user data. I want to display it in an html table.
This is kinda what i want:
Username GamiPress Points Time since last login
And I want the table to be populated with these data amongst others automatically. I want two versions one that is sorted with the 15 users who have the most points and one that sorts on the 15 users that logged in last.
Can someone point me to the right place on how I can best implement this?
I basically want to create the GamiPress Leaderboard add-on that I, unfortunately, can't afford, but with some extra fields.
There are multiple steps to do if you want to achieve this:
1) Add meta field to your users, so you can store the points. For example you can use "Advanced Custom Fields" plugin for this.
2) Write a function for adding points to this field. Define when this function will be fired.
3) Query the users ordered by that meta value and display it (get_users($args) might be useful).
4) For the Last-Login value you can use a plugin (google Wordpress Last Login) and write another Query and order results by that meta field. You can also write this by your own, here is a link I found: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-show-users-last-login-date-in-wordpress/
I don't know if this is what you were looking for.
Or did you want to see an example code how you use a wp query and display data in html table?

check duplicate values in oracle forms multi record block

What I wanted is to display an alert when I move to the next row if the record that I inserted is already one of the records in the multi record block.
and in what trigger must I put it?
There are several options you can use.
One is to POST values entered (in WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE) trigger. It will, well, post everything you entered so far. Then, you can write a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger which SELECTs from that table and checks whether such a value already exists. Alternatively, if there's the UNIQUE CONSTRAINT on that (those) column(s), database will do its job itself, i.e. raise an exception.
Another option is to literally loop through all rows in a block and compare the first row's value with all the others, then the second row's values with all of them, etc.
Or, you can use a Record Group (usually used for Lists of Values). Basically, you'd check whether value you entered exists in a record group. More info, along with a FMB file, on Craig's blog.
Or, you can use calculated items, as described enter link description here (FMB attached as well).
As you can see, quite a few ways to do that; explore each of them and pick the one you find the most useful / attractive / easy to implement.

Generate Number with Validating rule in Access

I have a database in access for institute. there is a [Registers] Table and [Certificates] Table.
I want to give Mark to each of Registers a Mark. I want to set Validation Rule for Each
If [Certificates].[Mark]>70
Then UpdateRecord
SetField
CertificateID "GENERATE AutoNumber"
My Problem is i cant handle the CertificateID Generate with Macro. i cant use DMAX.
looking for a solution to give CertificateID to only Registers who passed the Course.
Tried "After Update" Macro and "After Insert" macro but still didnt success.
is there any other way to give AutoNumber except "DMax"?
Well, i just already found a way but not the best way.
I just added another Table as "Certificates" and renamed current(Certificates) to "Marks".
Tables and Fields
i made a query with Select a "Grade" from Certificates Table and rest from Marks. Whenever i fill a record in Grade table it generate Autonumber for "CertificateID" a new number.
For Validation i set my validation Rule in my form on Grade which i cant fill that field if Marks.Mark is less than 70. ( [Marks].[Mark] < 70)
I know its not a good way.
Still looking for better answer

filtering datagrids

In a simple scenario there is a webpage with a datagrid containing 2 columns; first name and country. There's a filter set on the grid to filter out all Australians. There's a form on the same page to add new records and a user decides to add someone from Australia. This record does not meet the filter criteria so would not normally display. However, this might be confusing from the users perspective as they might not have confidence that the person has been successfully added or have forgotten that the filter will mean the new entry is not displayed.
What is the best way to handle this from a usability perspective?:
display the new entry but leave the list in a state inconsistent
with the filter criteria?
filter out the new entry but risk confusing the user?
provide feedback to the user that the record was successfully
added but may be filtered out of the list?
?
Three tools I use, Mingle, Jira, and Quicken, use this implementation very effectively; a slight modification to your number 3:
Provide feedback to the user that the record was successfully added, but won't be shown, and provide a link to the record using its record identifier (record number + title).
