Labview 13 - Waveform graph not accepting all data - graph

I am having trouble being able to plot three different sets of data onto a waveform graph. The waveform chart has no problem in accepting all the three sets of data, and displaying. However i need a history of data that i can export to an excel document and examine.
The circuit is setup as follows:
An NI DAQ 6001 takes a temperature reading from an LM35 that is measuring a brass block. Separate circuitry drives a current through a peltier device to maintain a specific temperature on this brass block. It is fundamentally controlled by PID control to allow an operator to choice a temperature that the brass block can be set at. To be able to tune the system perfectly i need to make a set of step changes and record the data and be able to graph at a later data to determine such characteristics as: linear / non-linearity / Oscillation / stability.
Unfortunately i do not know how to upload my program but i have attached a screen shot

It looks like you're using direct 1D array wired to the waveform graph. You should build all waveforms using Build Array function to form a 2D array which will eventually display as different plots.
A proper way in displaying waveform in graph includes time component. You would need to build waveform (Block Diagram --> Function Pallette --> Programming --> Waveform --> Build Waveform) with start time, delta Time for each 1D array. Then you can bundle this waveform into a 1D array to plot multiple plots.
Sharing your VI can help solving quickly. Just select all of your block diagram using Ctra+A and save it as VI snippet using Edit-->Create VI Snippet from Selection, then attach that image generated in this stack overflow response.

Get Volume of trace

I would like to get the Volume of something that moves on a certain trajectory.
Let's take a cube e.g. if the cube moves in a straight line you would get a cuboid.
If this cube moves in a circular you get somehting like this:
Is there a Library out there that can calcutlate this for me with any given object and trajectory? Objects like a Toycar, Coke Bottle, drill etc.
What field of Mathematics am I in? I don't know the right words to google.
I know: C/++, Python, bash and Matlab.
I am willing to learn new Languages.
If there is a CAD programm, thats fine with me too.
Cheers
Blusser
You shouldn't need a library for that: given the Surface Area of the Square as S and the length of your trace as T, the volume of the cuboid is S * T.
You have to adapt S to whatever shape is moving along the trace

Adding plotstick-like arrows to a scatterplot

This is my first post here, thought i have read a lot of your Q&A these last 6 months. I'm currently working on ADCP (Aquatic Doppler Current Profiler) data, handled by the "oce" package from Dan Kelley (a little bit of advertising for those who want to deal with oceanographic datas in R). I'm not very experienced in R, and i have read the question relative to abline for levelplot functions "How to add lines to a levelplot made using lattice (abline somehow not working)?".
What i currently have is a levelplot representing a time series of echo intensity (from backscattered signal, which is monitored in the same time as current is) data taken in 10m of depth, this 10m depth line is parted into 25 rows, where each measurement is done along the line. (see the code part to obtain an image of what i have)
(unfortunately, my reputation doesn't allow me to post images).
I then proceed to generate an other plot, which represents arrows of the current direction as:
The length of each arrow gives an indication of the current strength
Its orientation is represented (all of this is done by taking the two components of the current intensity (East-West / North-South) and represent the resulting current).
There is an arrow drawn for each tick of time (thus for the 1000 columns of my example data, there are always two components of the current intensity).
Those arrows are drawn at the beginning of each measurement cell, thus at each row of my data, allowing to have a representation of currents for the whole water column.
You can see the code part to have a "as i have" representation of currents
The purpose of this question is to understand how i can superimpose those two representations, drawing my current arrows at each row of the represented data, thus making a representation of both current direction, intensity and echo intensity.
Here i can't find any link to describe what i mean, but this is something i have already seen.
I tried with the panel function which seems to be the best option, but my knowledge of R and the handeling of this kind of work is small, and i hope one of you may have the time and the knowledges to help me to solve this problem way faster than i could.
I am, of course, available to answer any questions or give precisions. I may ask a lot more, after working on a large code for 6 months, my thirst for learning is now large.

In order to simplify the representation, the three last plots are based on the same data.

Implementing sliding realtime 2D plot in Qt

I am getting streaming measurement data from an ultrasonic device moving inside a pipeline, and I want to make a sliding/realtime plot of these measurements. The Y axis would represent a gradient of the 360 degrees around the pipe, and the X axis would represent the length-wise position in millimeters. In other words, the X axis will update and move at the same rate as the scanner while new data is arriving (approx 40Hz). The value at each (x,y) coordinate represents one measurement, which should be mapped to a color in a colormap.
I am new to graphics (systems&backend guy) and I have been looking at QImage, QWT and QCustomPlot but none of them seem to straight-forward solve the problem without having to manually build a 2D matrix, draw it in a QImage, and update and shift the coordinates of each datapoint and redraw to move/scroll it. QCustomplot does this very nicely for graphs, but I don't see how it can be applied to their colormaps.
Any hints to frameworks or packages that provide primitives (or widgets) for this kind of plot would be much welcomed.
This can be done with Qwt. The trick is creating a wrapper around the series data that triggers a replot every time you add a data point. If you want to get fancy you can add a timer that removes old data from the series and triggers another replot.
See the CPU, oscilloscope, and realtime examples that come with the Qwt source code. They implement this trick.

Constrained (Delaunay) Triangulation

For a university project I need to implement a computer graphics paper that has been relased a couple of years ago. At one point, I need to triangulate the results I get from my simulation. I guess its easier to explain what I need looking at a picture contained within the paper:
Let's say I already have got all the information it takes to reconstruct the contour lines that you can see in the second thumbnail. Using those I need to do some triangulation using those siluettes as constrains. I have searched the internet for triangulation libraries like CGAL, VTK, Triangle, Triangle++, ... but I always ended up throwing my hands up in horror. I am not a good programmer and it seems impossible to me to get into one of those APIs before the deadline of this project passes.
I would appreciate any kind of help like code snipplets, tips, etc...
I know that the algorithms need segments (pairs of points) as input, so let's say I have got one std::vector containing all pairs of points defining the siluette as well as the left and right side of the rectangle.
Can you somehow give me a code snipplet for i.e. CGAL that I could use for my purpose? First of all I just want to achieve the state of the third thumbnail. Lateron I will have to do some displacement within the "cracks" and finally write the information into a VBO for OpenGL rendering.
I have started working it out with CGAL. One simple problem still drives me crazy:
It is possible to attach informations (like ints) to points before adding them up to the triangulator object. I do this since I need on the one hand an int-flag that I use lateron to define my texture coordinates and on the other hand an index which I use so that I can create a indexed VBO.

But instead of points I only want to insert constraint-edges. If I insert both CGAL returns strange results since points have been fed into two times (once as point and once as point of a constrained edge).

Is it possible to connect in the same way as with points information to "Constraints" so that I can only use this function cdt.insert_constraint( Point(j,0), Point(j,6)); before I iterate over the resulting faces?
Lateron when I loop over the triangles I need some way to access the int-flags that I defined before. Like this but not on acutal points but the "ends" defined by the constraint edges:
for(CDT::Finite_faces_iterator fit = m_cdt.finite_faces_begin(); fit != m_cdt.finite_faces_end(); ++fit, ++k) {
int j = k*3;
for(int i=0; i < 3; i++) {
indices[j+i] = fit->vertex(i)->info().first;
}
}

Amplitude of Audio Tracks

I want to develop an audio editor using Qt.
For this, I need to plot a waveform of the music track which I think should be a plot of peak amplitude of sound versus time(please correct me if I am wrong).
Currently, I have been using Phonon::AudioOutput class object as an audio sink and connected it with my Phonon::MediaObject class object to play the audio file.
Now, to draw the waveform I need to know the amplitude of audio track at every second (,or so) from this AudioOutput object so that I can draw a line (using QPainter) of length proportional to sound frequency at different times and hence, obtain my waveform.
So, please help me on how to obtain amplitude of audio tracks at different times.
Secondly,am I using the correct way of plotting waveforms of audio tracks - plotting amplitudes of sound against time by plotting lines by QPainter object on a widget at different times.
Thanks.
There is code which does both of the things you ask about (calculating peak amplitude, and plotting audio waveforms) in the Spectrum Analyzer example which ships with Qt (in the demos/spectrum directory).
Screenshot of Spectrum Analyzer demo running on Symbian http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/spectrum.png
This demo also calculates and displays a frequency spectrum. As another commenter points out, this is distinct from a waveform plot: the spectrum is a plot of amplitude against frequency, whereas the waveform plots amplitude against time.
The demo uses QtMultimedia rather than Phonon to capture and render audio. If you are only interested in playing audio, and don't need to record it, Phonon may be sufficient, but be aware that streaming support (i.e. Phonon::MediaSource(QIODevice *)) is not available on all platforms. QAudioInput and QAudioOutput on the other hand are well supported, at least for PCM audio data, on all the main platform targetted by Qt.
