2sxc: 404 Error after adding App module on the page. API is missing? - 2sxc

I have a problem when placing an App module(v 8.4.8) on a page. When I placed an App module on a page I got a pop up saying "Had an error talking to the server (status 404). if you are an advanced user you can learn more about what went wrong - discover how on 2sxc.org/help?tag=debug".
This error happens on whatever action I try to do: trying to add and app, refresh page etc.
I checked a communication to the server using Firebug and seems that one of APIs are missing:
~/desktopmodules/2sxc/api/view/Module/GetSelectableApps
Referer: ~/desktopmodules/tosic_sexycontent/dist/dnn/ui.html?sxcver=8.4.8.19191
Did I missed something? Should I make some configuration after SexyContent module install (v 8.4.8)?
I just checked a video by Daniel Mettler where he showed how to install a module and seems that process is simple. Nothing to worry about.
Does anybody has any idea what might went wrong here?

My best guess is that it's an issue with the dnn domain/path configuration. So basically my guess is that
you have multiple domains, and if this is configured incorrectly, the paths in the js-calls won't fully match the original one
you have sub-portal (with paths like /products/) or something, and this isn't configured correctly in dnn
languages in portal-paths are causing similar issues.
So please compare EXACTLY the full base path and see if that's the issue.

API setup missing something?

I am setting up a web api for the first time and I have another project for reference. It is a .NET framework project that will have a React frontend. I am running it using Visual Studio and IIS Express.
I have no build errors when I start the api project. It has swagger added so I can test database calls, so I know the api itself is working. But I am missing adding something as I am looking to add more security to it.
I am trying to verify authentication and I want to use integrated Windows authentication. When I set a break point, the user in the HttpContext.Current is never set and is never authenticated, so I can't add any authorization filters.
I went back to just the basic empty api project that has the frontend web pages removed to see if I removed something and it shows the same issue. So I either removed it again or I am actually missing adding something.
I am not sure where to look for what is missing, so any pointers would be appreciated.
The left browser is what I am expecting and the right browser is what I am seeing.
I don't need the directory browse turned on, so seeing a 403.14 - Forbidden is fine. But I am clearly missing something to get to that point. Is there a better way to figure out which resource/dependency is causing this error?
I can also see the working version requested url is what I am expecting, but the other is just a /.
Is there a way to resolve that if this is the error?
I can add code snippets if needed, but I haven't yet as I am not sure where the issue is.
I ended up finding the answer using blank test web apis to see what I may have left in that wasn't needed. The project was set up using this option:
After removing the views, etc., to make it strictly an api project. I started removing references (and clearing the associated errors) and seeing what happened with the build after each change.
Under the App_Start folder, there were some additional files that weren't present in the project I had for comparison - FilterConfig, and RouteConfig - which were also called in the Global.asax.
I removed the call in Global.asax for all three and I was able to see the expected http error page.
I dont have enough reputation for a comment, but you got 404 error, which, as you know, means there is nothing on that url. So check the route config and startup.cs Edit: I am on the phone so I didnt saw you already solved it. Good :)

Airflow webserver redirects to nowhere

I'm trying to test a DAG I wrote in Astronomer/Airflow but I'm getting a really peculiar behavior that has me totally stuck.
Airflow's webserver comes up, and then after login as admin it redirects to http://localhost:8080/home which doesn’t appear to exist.
The specific error I get in the browser is ‘too many redirects’. I’m sure something is wrong in my configuration, but it’s not obvious (to me) what. Can you suggest steps for further diagnosis?

I thought I would share the resolution of this problem in case anyone else encounters it.
This problem came about while developing a DAG to test a part of our pipeline. The repo I was working with used a Dockerfile which was designed for automated testing and was not suitable for a DAG. Once I reverted to the stock Dockerfile the problem went away and I can now load localhost:8080/home just fine.
I have had similar issues when the username or the password is incorrect. I am expecting you are either entering wrong login credentials or your configuration is checking some external authentication server and it is not configured correctly.

Drupal - White Screen of Death after updates (and login page returning 403 error)

I have just updated a site that is using Drupal and have now experienced the horrible WSOD.
I have searched through Google looking for any sort of solution/error log to help me find and fix the issue but nothing has worked. I have tried adding in the 'display errors' code in the index.php file and looked at the error_log file in the public directory and nothing.
I can not login to the admin page and check any modules as the login page for this is returning a 403 error.
Any suggestions?
Please go to Apache Error log. You will exact error messages there.
The log file's location is different for different OS and versions.
e.g httpd/log/error.log
Maybe your Drupal registry is broken.
Fix this using the registry_rebuild script (this is no module!)
There are times in Drupal 7 when the registry gets hopelessly hosed and you need to rebuild the registry (a list of PHP classes and the files they go with). Sometimes, though, you can't do this regular cache-clear activity because some class is required when the system is trying to bootstrap.
You might get something like:
PHP Fatal error: Class 'EntityAPIControllerExportable' not found in ...sites/all/modules/rules/includes/rules.core.inc on line 11
If this happens when you're trying to run update.php, and happens when you're trying to clear your cache, well, you have some trouble. That's what Registry Rebuild is for.
It also may happen that you've moved some module that Drupal requires to bootstrap, and you get a horrible error. Registry Rebuild will also rebuild the system table to get the modules in the right place so you can bootstrap.
You will need PHP-CLI or drush to run this.

Drupal 7 - after successful install, seemingly random action creates permanent server error

I am working with Drupal (7) for the first time. I have installed it multiple times using both an automated Simple Scripts method, and a manual method. I am using the MERCI module to create a reservation system. Every time, over the course of several installations, a seemingly simple action - such as creating a taxonomy term (most recent trigger) or activating a standard module (Views for instance) results in a permanent 500 Server Error, interspersed with a properly loaded home page that will not allow the user to proceed to further links.

On first load - you will either get a Server Error, or a properly loaded page. If the page loads properly, clicking to ANY link should result in a blank screen, server error, or some other redirect.
I honestly don't even know where to start diagnosing this. I can't tell where an error (if there was one) would be logged, and nor can I figure out how to manually step my MySQL database backwards to try and remove whatever is causing the issue.
Any leads, suggestions, or ideas would be REALLY helpful. Until now, I've just been creating a new installation, thinking that the issue stems from installation issues. However it has happened so many times now I can't just keep starting from scratch.
I'm not seeing any errors on your site, and in fact it let me register a new account.
Having said that, as should be obvious from the error message, 500 is an internal server error, and no one is going to be able to determine the cause just by going to the public url. It's an error with a configuration file on your server. Generally a syntax error would give you a consistent, not a sporadic 500.
While I have a good deal of experience with MERCI, the way you've described the issue, that wouldn't have anything to do with it.
If the problem persists you should check your Apache error log.

"The Resource Cannot Be Found: /Login.aspx" on new v5.20 Install

I've never had any issues with DotNetNuke installations. But with the new v5.20 (or v5.02, whichever it really is), everything runs perfectly fine through installation. I then get to the main default portal homepage. But as soon as I click any of the links available to continue (Home, Register or Login) I get 404 errors every time with a reference back to the applicable aspx page (Home.aspx, Register.aspx or Login.aspx.).
Windows 7, IIS7, SQL Server 2008. All permissions are setup properly on the directory and in IIS. I would think this is an IIS7 configuration issue, but I've tweaked everything in there a half-dozen times. No one at DNN is returning answers on my forum post anymore either after one guy tried.

This is something to do with the Friendly URL stuff. I found this blog post which talks about the Friendly URL Provider architecture. This made me try changing the urlFormat attribute for the DNNFriendlyUrl provider from "humanfriendly" to "searchfriendly", which made the URLs the way they used to be. I'm not sure exactly where things are going wrong and don't really have time to dig into it at the moment, but hopefully this will be helpful to get you moving again too.
With the release of DNN5 (up until 5.02.01 as of the time of writing), the friendly URL provider won't work when DotNetNuke is not on default port 80. There are different solutions floating around, but the simplest is just to replace the DNN friendly URL provider with the free one from iFinity. The installation is really simple and included in the download. Or see the following blog post:

Okay have you tried the 'old style' of login - domain.com/default.aspx?ctl=login
If that still doesnt work then i have to say that most likely something has happened to IIS - if so then you might just see if you can install the package you have on a different box or have a friend try a different box
I have done 2 upgrades with 5.2 and a few test installs with the Starter Kit Package and Install packages and have never seen this problem - not to say that it doesnt exist.
My next trial would be to go and redownload the install package from CodePlex and start from scratch to see if you can make the same thing happen again.
OKayone thing I dont think that has been mentioned in reading through everything is double check IIS.
My first guess without looking on your server would be to check if something happened to the 'check file exists' setting - i know this is changed in IIS7 so I cant point to the exact place to check this.

you probably need to reg_iis on the version(s) of asp.net that your IIS is going to support.

If the right version is not set up then you will get the 404 error
So placing it under port 80 works, right?
Is there a good reason not putting it under that port?
