retrieve a row of data from documentum via DQL - javafx

I have a list of users in my list view which is populated by retrieving data from documentum . If I click on any row of this least (each row represent one user) I should be able to see all of their information listed down .(This is my problem )

I've tried the DQL query in DQL tester and it works well

In order to fetch rows from IDfCollection you have to call next() on the collection object. This method both advances to the next row and returns a boolean if successful. Use a boolean test (e.g., while or if) to iterate, like this:

The iteration is necessary even if the collection contains only one row. In other words, you need to manually advance to the first row.

1) As #eiviamu already mentioned, you have to call IDfCollection.next() to get the next row.
2) Your code, among other problems, has one documentum-related: closing of collection must happen always in finally block.
Otherwise you can get unclosed collection which might lead to memory leaks and weird application behavior (e.g. if I'm not mistaken there are 9 simultaneous open collections are allowed for one DCTM session by default, and if you exceed this limit an exception will be thrown)

Pulling data from Sqlite cursor loader

OK I have a app that has a Listview and uses sqlite data to populate it. But I also want to be able to email the contents of each view for the body of the message. I tried doing this with a global string variable and catching the data in the CarCursorAdapter activity in the BindView section like this:

What would be the best way to just capture this once when the email feature is selected? Or reset the string to null at some place? Maybe just read from each listview item instead of from the cursor loader? There is probably a way to just cycle through the database table but I'm getting all kinds of errors and haven't had any luck.

OrientDB execute script asynchronously and fetch records in a lazy fashion

Currently, we are using the Document API in OrientDB version 2.2. Let us suppose we have a class Company and a class Employee. Let's suppose we are interested in all Companies with at least one employee having a name from an arbitrary list. Employees are defined as LINKEDLISTs in our Company schema.
Our query would look smth like this:
select from Company where employees in (select from Employee where name in ["John", "Paul"])
Currently we have defined the following two indexes:
Company.employees (index on the employee links (their #rid)) -> dictionary hash index and
Employee.name -> notunique index
When executing the above query with explain we see that only the second index Employee.name is used, since we did not define the above indexes as a compound index. AS far as I could understand compound indexes across different classes like in our case are not supported in Orient 2.x.
Queries like this:
select from Company let $e = select from employees where name in ["John", "Paul"] where employees in $e
do not solve our problem either.
Searching across different blogs revealed two suggestions so far:
trying to define a compound index via inheritance by introducing a parent class on employee and company and defining the above two indexes on that

Suggestion 1 did not work for us.
Suggestion 2. worked. Both indexes have been used in each separate query, but then we ran into the next limitation of Orient. Batch scripts seem to be executed only synchronously, meaning that we can only get the results as a list all at once and not one by one in a lazy fashion, which in our case is a NO GO due to the memory overhead.
One naive workaround we tried is as follows:

The approach of defining a custom OCommandAsyncScript did not work unfortunately. When debugging the OStorageRemote class of Orient it seems that no partial results could be read, Here the respective extract from the source code:

Network.readbyte() is always null, hence no records could be fetched at all.
Is there any other workaround how we could execute a sql script in asynchronus mode and retrieve results in a lazy fashion preventing the generation of large lists on our application side?

Combobox selections disappear when table editing canceled

Ok, I'm starting to lose my mind on this one. I have a tableview where there are 3 combobox table cells. The first is a box where a user can select a job, the job selected changes the next combobox's options (job category). The job category selection changes the options in the labor box. So the flow down is:
job > job category > labor.
I have a very peculiar problem. When editing the table, you can click on any box to get a corresponding list of the available selections based on the other fields. This works fine. Where it blows up is when a selection ISN'T made. To make things more interesting, it only effects the job and job category comboboxes the labor box works flawlessly.
symptom:
-- job category selection disappears when edit is canceled via esc or focus lost
-- selection chosen in the job category field is placed into the job field when editing is canceled via esc or upon loss of focus
Here's the steps to recreate the symptoms:
1) click on job category box and enable editing mode
2) make a new selection from the drop down list

3) click on the job box and enable editing
4) click off the job box and cancel editing by click on job category or labor box in the same row
5) enable job category editing and then cancel job category edit by clicking on either labor / labor boxes or using esc

I know there are probably better ways to do things here. I'm still new to JAVA and coding. I work at a small company so I'm the only coder they employee. Unfortunately this limits me to what I can teach myself, so there are probably some more efficient ways to accomplish the same mission here. Anyway, if anyone could help me figure out what is going on, it would be appreciated.
The answer to this problem is actually found in the SetOnEdit portion of the jobcatCol.
upon closer inspection and a lot of debugging, I found that this line
t.getRowValue().setJob(ssp);
is actually supposed to be
t.getRowValue().setJobCat(ssp);
I also chose to forego the ComboBoxTableCell API and write my own combobox implementations for each cell. It's a very basic version found here:

I adapted his code a little bit to specifically fit my needs. This solved a problem with values disappearing from the job category field and from data transferring from the job category field to the Job field.
This was one of the harder pieces of code I've had to troubleshoot. It was a combination of how the ComboBoxTableCell operates, the dynamic data of my comboboxes, and a slip in the which setter I was calling. It was about a perfect storm of flubs that the program saw no exceptions for as a result.

Picking out Just JSON Data Returned from ASP.NET MVC3 controller Update

I've got data returned from my JavaScript client that just includes the data that has changed. That is, I may have an array with each row containing 10 columns of JSON downloaded, but on the Update, only the data that is returned to me is the data that got updated. On my update, I only want to update those columns that are changed (not all of them).
In other words, I have code like below but because I'm passing in an instance of the "President" class, I have no way of knowing what actually came in on the original JSON.
How can I just update what comes into my MVC3 update method and not all columns. That is, 8 of the columns may not come in and will be null in the "data" parameter passed in. I don't want to wipe out all my data because of that.

I have a web page that needs to update multiple records. This page gets all the information and then begins a transaction sending multiple UPDATE queries to the data base.

It depends on the situation, like if you have multiple row updates or adding new rows or deleting some rows or a combination of these, which modifies the database table then, the efficient way to do this is to have Batch Update...

it looks fine to me, you could eventually do not clear the Command.Parameters list but just assign the values on following iterations but probably this leads to no visible improvements.
pay attention your throw is wrong, in C# don't use throw e; but simply throw;.
