How to Read a .csv file from url - r

I have successfully developed a Shiny Application for sentiment analysis. When I deployed the application, it was not working. After going through the code I found that my code is referring to the files(emotions.csv.gz,subjectivity.csv.gz) which are located in my system. That could be the reason why the application is not working because on server its not able to find these particular files. Is there be any method to read these files directly from the url where they are present, so that there will be no system dependencies?

Unsure where image_write downloads to in shinyapps.io

I'm attempting to make a public shinyapps.io website, and I'm trying to use image_write to create a file into a local directory.
The following code works on my local R studio code:
image_write(im.resized, path = paste0(output_file_directory, file_name), format = "jpg")
When I run the code on the shinyapps.io website, the code runs without error, but I'm not sure where it downloads the file to. I know that the output_file_directory part isn't the issue, so I'm a little lost. Any help would be much appreciated!
On shinyapps.io it is not possibly to store permanently data, due to:
"Shinyapps.io is a popular server for hosting Shiny apps. It is designed to distribute your Shiny app across different servers, which means that if a file is saved during one session on some server, then loading the app again later will probably direct you to a different server where the previously saved file doesn’t exist."

open a OneDrive file with r

Im tring to create a shiny app that read and online onedrive xlsx file and show some things, but for the moment Im unable to read the onedrive xlsx file, I already explore the Microsoft365R and I can conect to my onedrive and I even can open the fil but... what it does is from r open a tab in chrome with the excel file.
I need the file in the local enviroment of r.. this its beacause the shiny app must be deploy in a web server, that every time the app runs it reads the update the file.
library(Microsfot365R)
odb <- get_business_onedrive()
odb$open_file("lcursos.xlsx")
Also this its a business account, so I also have to put the username and key to acces each file, that its beacause use the simple url doesnt work, it says Error 403 FORBIDEEN.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much!
Use the download_file() method to download the file to your local machine:
odb$download_file("lcursos.xlsx")
You can set the location of the download with the dest argument. Once it's downloaded, open it with the xls reader package of your choice. I suggest either openxlsx or readxl.
Note that if your file is password protected, your options are limited. See this question for possible solutions.

packrat not bundling all files

I have developed several shiny applications on a development server. To aid with deployment to our production server I've written a function that uses packrat's bundle function to bundle up the application. My function then sftps the bundle to the production server and then sends a command over ssh to call packrat::unbundle() on the production server.
When I first wrote this it all seemed to work but a few months, maybe a year, ago it started messing up. It would report that the app was restored on production but the app wouldn't open on the production server. When I would look at the directory for the app it would not include all the files associated with the application. When I open the bundle on the development server it does not contain all the files that should be there. What would cause packrat::bundle() to not include all the files in the bundled directory? For example, the bundle contains the packrat folder, the .Rproj file, one of two associated .csv data files, and a restart.txt file, but does not contain ui.R, server.R, global.R, or one .csv file. It isn't always consistently wrong, every great once in a while it works fine... I am very confused... any help or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Error Message: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps is denied

I distributed my xaf Winforms+Desktop Bridge app to myself via the Windows Store.
following this blog
From the blog, I want to pre-generate the ModelAssembly.dll, Model.Cache.xafml and ModulesVersionInfo file and package them to go in the output directory.
These files are generated by XAF if they don't already exist.
Where the output directory is given by
Path.GetDirectoryName(GetType().Assembly.Location)
When I install and run my app from the store. I get this error message.
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\JobTalk.JobTalk_1.0.19.0_x64__8kpaqbvntb9aj\SBD.JobTalk.Workflow.Win10\ModelAssembly.dll' is denied.
In the code I tried looking form Path.GetRelativePath but it is not available in Framework 4.7.2
In short, UWP app doesn't allow to access files via absolute path. Because UWP apps run in sandbox and have very limited access to the files out of the app container. In most scenarios, the UWP app can directly access only their install folder and their application data folder. Since the converted app also is a UWP app, so your app need to follow this rule.
Please check the Prepare to package a desktop application. The document has mentions some scenarios that is related to your question.
Your application writes to the AppData folder or to the registry with the intention of sharing data with another app. After conversion, AppData is redirected to the local app data store, which is a private store for each UWP app.
Your application writes to the install directory for your app. For example, your application writes to a log file that you put in the same directory as your exe. This isn't supported, so you'll need to find another location, like the local app data store.
Here, there's a special scenario that you could access files via files absolute path. It's a restricted capability called as broadFileSystemAccess. Once you add the broadFileSystemAccess capability, you could use the APIs in the Windows.Storage namespace to get all files that the user has access to. Please read File access permissions for more information.
Please note that the document has explained:
If you submit an app to the Store that declares this capability, you will need to supply additional descriptions of why your app needs this capability, and how it intends to use it.
Xavier's answer explains what was going wrong. The reason it happened on my project was that I missed the step of marking the linked files as "Copy if newer"

How can I create and download a zip file using Actionscript

I'm developing an application using Adobe Flex 4.5 SDK, in which the user would be able to export multiple files bundled in one zip file. I was thinking that I must need to take the following steps in order for performing this task:
Create a temporary folder on the server for the user who requested the download. Since it is an anonymous type of user, I have to read Sate/Session information to identify the user.
Copy all the requested files into the temporary folder on the server
Zip the copied file
Download the zip file from the server to the client machine
I was wondering if anybody knows any best-practice/sample-code for the task
Thanks
The ByteArray class has some methods for compressing, but this is more for data transport, not for packaging up multiple files.
I don't like saying things are impossible, but I will say that this should be done on the server-side. Depending on your server architecture I would suggest sending the binary files to a server script which could package the files for you.
A quick google search for your preferred server-side language and zipping files should give you some sample scripts to get you started.
