How can I adjust the column width of a table inside a datalist ? I have tried applying the width through CSS and directly on the tag but it doesn't affect the table
<asp:DataList ID="DataList2" runat="server" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource2" Height="409px" RepeatColumns="3" Width="600px" >
<ItemTemplate>
<table class="nav-justified" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" >
<tr>
<td><asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl='<%# Eval("productImage") %>' Width="120" Height="60" /></td>
</tr>
<tr style="width:120px">
<td> <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink2" runat="server" CssClass="productName" NavigateUrl='<%# string.Format("product.aspx?id={0}", Eval("productId")) %>'>HyperLink</asp:HyperLink> </td>
</tr>
<tr style="width:120px">
<td><asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" class="productPrice" Text='<%# Eval("productPrice") %>' ></asp:Label></td>
</tr>
<tr style="width:120px">
<td> <asp:Button ID="Button1" CssClass="addToCart" runat="server" Text="+" /> </td>
</tr>
</table>
</ItemTemplate>
The issue was with the Datalist width property. Changing it 400 made the columns to be closer
<asp:DataList ID="DataList2" runat="server" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource2" Height="409px" RepeatColumns="3" Width="400px" >

I am facing problems while using the ListView Control in asp.net
I used two buttons links in a ListView ItemTemplate. For both buttons, I used Command Name and Command Argument. But first one is working fine and the second one is giving errors. I.e.
System.InvalidOperationException: Insert can only be called on an insert item. Ensure only the InsertTemplate has a button with CommandName=Insert.
If I want to add the InsertTemplate, where do we have to place it?
I am copying my code. Please help me.

Well you can insert a InsertItemTemplate like here :
<InsertItemTemplate>
<tr style="background-color:#D3D3D3">
<td valign="top">
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="FirstNameLabel"
AssociatedControlID="FirstNameTextBox" Text="First Name"/>
<asp:TextBox ID="FirstNameTextBox" runat="server"
Text='<%#Bind("FirstName") %>' /><br />
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="LastNameLabel"
AssociatedControlID="LastNameTextBox" Text="Last Name" />
<asp:TextBox ID="LastNameTextBox" runat="server"
Text='<%#Bind("LastName") %>' /><br />
<asp:Label runat="server" ID="EmailLabel"
AssociatedControlID="EmailTextBox" Text="E-mail" />
<asp:TextBox ID="EmailTextBox" runat="server"
Text='<%#Bind("EmailAddress") %>' />
</td>
<td>
<asp:LinkButton ID="InsertButton" runat="server"
CommandName="Insert" Text="Insert" />
</td>
</tr>
</InsertItemTemplate>

I have an ASP.NET repeater with an ImageButton. My ImageButton has an OnCommand event.
My goal: When I click the ImageButton, I would like the color of the selected row to change.
Here is an excerpt from my ASP.NET code. Can anyone help me?
<asp:Repeater ID="RepeaterID" runat="server" OnItemCommand="rpt_ItemCommand">
<HeaderTemplate>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="table1">
<thead>
<tr>
<th>
<asp:Label ID="lbl_refCode" runat="server"></asp:Label>
</th>
<th style="width: 25px"></th>
</tr>
</thead>
</table>
</HeaderTemplate>
<ItemTemplate>
<tr id="row" runat="server">
<td style="width: 50px;">
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RefCode") %>'</asp:Label>
</td>
<td style="width: 25px;">
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="Icons/edit.png" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("ID") %>' CommandName="Edit" ID="ImgEdit" OnCommand="Manage" runat="server">
</asp:ImageButton>
</td>
</tr>
</ItemTemplate>
<AlternatingItemTemplate>
<tr id="row" runat="server">
<td style="width: 50px;">
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RefCode") %>' </asp:Label>
</td>
<td style="width: 25px;">
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="Icons/edit.png" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("ID") %>' CommandName="Edit" ID="ImgEdit" OnCommand="Manage" runat="server">
</asp:ImageButton>
</td>
</tr>
</AlternatingItemTemplate>
<FooterTemplate>
</Table>
</FooterTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
Try using the OnItemCommand event of the Repeater instead of the LinkButton's OnCommand event. The RepeaterCommandEventArgs parameter will give you access to the whole Item instead of just the LinkButton, and you can set the background color of the table row.
<asp:Repeater ID="RepeaterID" runat="server" OnItemCommand="rpt_ItemCommand">
<HeaderTemplate>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="table1">
<thead>
<tr>
<th>
<asp:Label ID="lbl_refCode" runat="server" </asp:Label>
</th>
<th style="width: 25px"></th>
</tr>
</thead>
</HeaderTemplate>
<ItemTemplate>
<tr id="row" runat="server">
<td style="width: 50px;">
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RefCode") %>' </asp:Label>
</td>
<td style="width: 25px;">
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="Icons/edit.png" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("ID") %>' CommandName="Edit" ID="ImgEdit" runat="server">
</asp:ImageButton>
</td>
</tr>
</ItemTemplate>
<AlternatingItemTemplate>
<tr id="row" runat="server">
<td style="width: 50px;">
<asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RefCode") %>' </asp:Label>
</td>
<td style="width: 25px;">
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="Icons/edit.png" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("ID") %>' CommandName="Edit" ID="ImgEdit" runat="server">
</asp:ImageButton>
</td>
</tr>
</AlternatingItemTemplate>
<FooterTemplate>
</Table>
</FooterTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
protected void rpt_ItemCommand(object source, RepeaterCommandEventArgs e)
{
if (e.CommandName.Equals("Edit"))
{
HtmlTableRow newRow = e.Item.FindControl("row") as HtmlTableRow;
if (newRow != null)
newRow.BgColor = "#CCCCCC";
}
}
Note that in the ItemTemplate the table row has an id so it can be found in the ItemCommand argument.
i have this listview with news...
But each new news is in the new row...

<asp:ListView ID="ListView2" runat="server" DataKeyNames="ID" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1">
<AlternatingItemTemplate>
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<asp:Label ID="NovinkaLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Novinka") %>' />

OnCheckedChanged="chkSubModuleView_CheckedChanged" />
In your .cs
protected void chkSubModuleView_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
CheckBox chk = (CheckBox)sender;
string yourID = chk.Attributes["Key"].ToString();
}
