Bootstrap columns are overlapping when the browser window is resized

I'm new to Bootstrap and having some styling issues with a project I'm working on. When my window is resized and made smaller, my columns start to overlap. How do I fix this and make it so the text (in this case the messages) are always aligned to the left side of the column?
What am I doing wrong here?
I've made an example page here:

I am pretty sure your problem is that using col-sm isn't working because your screen is smaller than what that column size is meant to accommodate. Try using col-xs instead.
Not to mention, you used fluid-container instead of container-fluid at one point.

div above navbar-fixed-top in bootstrap

I am trying to put a div above navbar-fixed-top in bootstrap, but for some reason the div with its content does not show. I dont know what else to write here, it is asking for detail all is in a code
here is the code
<div class="nav-top">
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12">fdjfdl;ffd;fjd; fjd;ffffffffffffffffffff
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-fixed-top">
<div class="container">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1" aria-expanded="false">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
</button>
<div class="navbar-brand" ><img src="images/logoa.png" alt="need to name it"></div>
</div>
<!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">

<li class="j">

<ul class="dropdown-menu">
<li>blu</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</div><!-- /.navbar-collapse -->
</div><!-- /.container -->
</nav>
remove your navbar-fixed-top class from code then you get some space to show your text.Have fun
Here is JSFiddle:https://jsfiddle.net/arifkarim/uu0n4cyk/3/
I know this is 4 years late but for anyone else stumbling upon this.
The fixed-top has a z-index of 1030, so just set your own element that you wish to be on top to z-index: 1050 (higher than 1030 at least).

Can search bar fixed in navigation bar -bootstrap in mobile view

I am a web developer and doing a responsive website using bootstrap and wordpress. I have a search bar in the main navigation bar. In the mobile view there comes a toggle button for menu and the search bar will be shown in the dropdown.
My problem is, i would like the search bar to be shown in the main navigation bar itself, not in dropdown, in mobile view. Is there any solution for this ?
Here is the website url : http://galtechprojects.com/wp_talichka/
Thanks in advance.
Following is my code of navigation part in header.php
<div class="top-bar-inner-left">

Show us some code, but you could try to add it to the navbar-header.
So, I have to move your form to go inside the navbar-header. I modify a little your search bar, to add the default bootstrap search glyphicon.
<div class="top-bar-inner-left">
<!-- Navigation -->
<nav class="navbar" role="navigation" style="background-color:#000;">
<div class="container" style="padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1"
style="background-color:#000;"> <span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span
class="icon-bar"></span> <span class="icon-bar"></span>
</button>
<form method="get" id="searchform" action="" class="navbar">
<div style="float: left;width: 100%;margin-top: 8%;" class="input-group">
<input type="text" size="18" placeholder="SEARCH" value="" name="s" id="s"
class="input" style="float: left" onfocus="clearvalu()">
<div class="inner-addon right-addon">
<i class="glyphicon glyphicon-search"></i>
</div>
</div>
</form>
</div>
<!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1"
style="padding:left-0px;padding-right:0px;">
<!--START COL MD 9-->
<div class="col-md-9" style="overflow:hidden;">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="font">HELLO
</li>
<li class="font">FASHION
</li>
<li class="font">FOOD
</li>
<li class="font">BEAUTY
</li>
<li class="font">ART
</li>
<li class="font"> PRESS
</li>
<li class="font">ABOUT US
</li>
<li class="font">CONTACT US
</li>
</ul>
</div>
<!--START COL MD 3-->
<div class="col-md-3" style="padding-top:1%; overflow:hidden;padding-right:0px;">
<div class="bottom_search"> <span style="float:left;" class="">

</div>
</div>
<!--END COL MD 3-->

How to align the elements in the navbar?

I am constructing a navigation bar using bootstrap framework. I am trying to align the search field to extreme right,but its not happening.
any suggestion would be appreciated . below is my code
<h1 id="topHeader"></h1>
<div id="logo">
<img src="/EduTechOnline/images/logo.png" width="200" height="80" />
<div id="slogan"><h2 id="slogan">Take the world's best online courses</h2></div>
</div>
<!-- This is the header that will be present on every page -->
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse" role="navigation">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbar-collapse-1">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbar-collapse-1">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<nav id="headerli">
<li><a class="active"href="#">Home</a></li>
<li>Courses</li>
<li>About Us</li>
<li>Videos</li>
</ul>
<ul class="nav pull-right nav navbar-nav">
<li> <form class="navbar-form" role="search">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" placeholder="Search">
</div>
<button type="submit" class="btn-group btn-group-sm">Go</button>
</form>
</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</nav>
</div>
</ul>
</nav>
There were a few things that were incorrect. No closing </div> for the .navbar-header, #nav as a direct child of ul (that's not valid) and the wrong classes (.navbar-right not .pull-right). Compare with the examples and the docs.
DEMO: http://jsbin.com/vomera/1/edit
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse" role="navigation">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbar-collapse-1">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
</button>
</div>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbar-collapse-1">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li><a class="active"href="#">Home</a></li>
<li>Courses</li>
<li>About Us</li>
<li>Videos</li>
</ul>
<div class="navbar-right">
<form class="navbar-form" role="search">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" placeholder="Search">
</div>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default">Go</button>
</form>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
Have you tried float: right; on .navbar-form?
You could also try taking it out of nav#headerli and the child li and putting it down on the second to last line of your snippet.
