Docker - overlay network on rhel 7 - networking

We are running docker 1.9 on rhel7 in test/prod. (installed from docker official repos)
Would like to use the overlay-network driver, but it requires kernel 3.16 according to the getting started guide.
RHEL7 runs a 3.10 kernel.
What are my options for using the docker overlay network driver with RHEL7?
I have tested flannel, but in my understandig flannel is external from docker, thus not being controlled via the docker network cli commands

Docker engine 1.10 will support overlay network on 3.10+ kernels according to the releasenotes of the first RC

One option is to install a recent kernel through the Elrepo repository (http://elrepo.org). A quick start guide is available at http://www.certdepot.net/rhel7-install-recent-stable-kernel/.
However, the new kernel will avoid any Red Hat support.

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to server on 'xxx.xxx.XX' (60) (MariaDB 10.8)

Since a day or so I can not access the databases on two of my servers any longer
I use
mysql -h host.sld.TLD -P 3306 -user user
which I have configured to allow my user from my host without password
but get the above error.
However, when I use
telnet host.sld.TLD 3306
I get

I am using homebrew's mariadb (currently 10.9.3) on my machine, which I can reach from the outside. One each of the 'failed' remotes is on ubuntu with 10.8 and one on a Mac also with 10.8, and outgoing works from both. OpenSSL is version 1.1.1s on both Macs
I have installed a number of different mariadb versions all have the same issues, as do their perl libraries. mysql itself works.
What am I doing wrong here?
This issue has been fixed in MariaDB 10.9.4 which was released yesterday. Brew still offers 10.9.3, usually it takes a couple of days until latest 10.9 release will be available via brew.
The issue doesn't affect the server itself, but Connector/C and command line tools which link against Connector/C.

Selenium/standalone-firefox docker on raspberry pi not working: how to use RSelenium on a raspberryPi

I am trying to use RSelenium on a raspberry pi 3 B+. I managed to get R and RSelenium installed.
I first tried to use rsDriver(browser = "firefox"), but I did not manage to get it work (it ends up with an error saying Could not open firefox browser).
As it is recommended to use RSelenium with docker, I am trying to get docker run a Selenium/firefox standalone container.
I managed to get docker up and running. The hello-world run works, as well as an ubuntu bash (docker run -it ubuntu bash gets me an ubuntu terminal).
I pulled a standalone-firefox image with a given version (the 3)
here are the images I have:

I then do
sudo docker run -d -p 4445:4444 selenium/standalone-firefox:3
But there is no container when I do docker ps, and
sudo docker ps -a

shows that the container exited directly when executed. I tried with standalone-firefox:2.53.0 (pulling and executing), and it resulted in the same problem. What I am doing wrong ? The version of standalone-firefox is not supported by the raspberry pi ?
More generally, does someone know how to get RSelenium working on a raspberry pi (with firefox as browser)?

Following LinPy answer, I tried pulling docker images of selenium browsers compatible with the raspberry pi arm architecture. I found these:

The docker containers ran without problem, but I never manager to have the remoteDriver connected to the broswer in RSelenium (different errors for different reasons, I do not detail here).
The only way I found to use RSelenium on the raspberry-pi without distant server was to execute the java selenium standalone server you can find here (I tried the 2.53.0):
java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.53.0.jar
And then connect to it in R:
library(RSelenium)
rmDr <- remoteDriver(port = 4444L)
rmDr$open()
It was that easy in the end.
I think there is a missmatch between your app and the os ARCH . Actually it seems like application build for amd64, but you try start it on arm.
so check your Docker / APP versions and make sure they are compatible....

You used the docker container incorrectly. You actually can see your container doing docker ps -a, but it is not good. You specified -p argument and didn't pass any port to that, and you passed the image without a tag. Follow the official documentation for this image and try again step by step:

Kaa node service fails to start mongodb and zookeeper

We are trying to setup a Single Node Kaa server(version 0.10.0) in an Ubuntu 16.04 machine.
Followed the documentation given here
We were unable to connect to the admin UI after starting the kaa node service.
On investigating further we could see that the Mongodb and zookeeper services were not started. So we manually started those services. After that we were able to connect to Kaa admin UI. Do we need any additional steps to get these service running on kaa-node start ?
I setup kaaproject with the guide for my Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS VM and Zookeeper was not running by default on my server also, so I had to install the deamon (which starts zookeeper also on startup):
sudo apt-get install zookeeperd
Check if zookeeper is running:
netstat -ntlp | grep 2181

With mongodb I had the problem, that there was not enough space available for the journal files. I fixed this by increasing the available disk space + setting smallfiles=true in the /etc/mongod.conf
Probably you have some troubles with configurations for services. Check if auto-startup is enabled for MongoDB / Zookeeper by the next command:
$ systemctl is-enabled ${service-name}
if you see this:
$ disabled
then auto-startup is disabled for specified service and you should try next in order to enable it:
$ systemctl enable ${service-name}

Permission Issue with Docker Volume Driver for Azure File Storage

I am following the readme for this project (https://github.com/Azure/azurefile-dockervolumedriver/blob/master/contrib/init/upstart/README.md), but when I try and mount a volume on a container like this
docker volume create -d azurefile -o share=myshare --name=myvol
docker run -i -t -v myvol:/data busybox
(inside the container)
# cd /data
# touch file.txt
I get this error:

This is running on an Ubuntu 14.04 server on Azure. I have successfully used the extension with similiar servers, but it is now not working. What can I do to debug this?
your answer is correct. CIFS in many Linux distros currently do not have encryption support ––which Azure File Storage requires in cross-region SMB traffic.

Note: The Linux SMB client doesn’t yet support encryption, so mounting a file share from Linux still requires that the client be in the same Azure region as the file share. However, encryption support for Linux is on the roadmap of Linux developers responsible for SMB functionality. Linux distributions that support encryption in the future will be able to mount an Azure File share from anywhere as well.

I managed to get around this error by using a storage account in the same region as the Azure VM. Originally I had a VM running in West Europe, using a file share in East US.

Failed to start domain SC-1

I am trying to bring common base architecture controller for my ovs setup on the esxi box sles linux os . when i try to bring up my controller i am getting the following error. Could you please help me out.
"unsupported configuration: Domain requires KVM, but it is not available. Check that virtualization is enabled in the host BIOS, and host configuration is setup to load the kvm modules."

GO to the VMS vmdk folders and edit .vmx file and add the following flag in that file and save it.
