I would need to be able to allow users to 'loop' through our MOH files.
Currently we have MOH set like this:
[moh]
mode=files
directory=/var/lib/asterisk/moh/custom
is there a way to allow users to go to next file from that directory by clicking number 1 on keypad?
Thank you
Only variant i see without rewrite of asterisk is just stop/start moh based on key pressed
See features.conf
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page_id=1483
You also can create custom application which stream file and other app which on key pressed do "next track" on that app, but that will result alot of CPU usage.
See streaming:

I Have created a application, in SAP ABAP and also I have generated a request number for that application, no I have forgot which is my request number since there are many requests in development server.
So, can someone help me how I can find out my request number, from my application.
Either you start transaction SE10, if necessary enter your user name (should be there by default) and hit Enter. You'll get a complete list if your transports, you just have to find the one, you need.
Or you start the transaction where you developed your application (you did not specify, if it is a program than SE38 or SE80, if it is a function module than SE37, SE24 for classes, etc (however in SE80 you can see everything)) enter the program name and go to menu: Goto / Object directory entry, a popup comes up, now click the button 'Lock overview'. Another popup comes up and tells you, which transport contains your object.
Steps to Identify all the request numbers of an object/application.
Open 'SE38'.
Provide your object/application name.
Click on 'Display Button'.
In the Menu bar click on 'Utilities'.
Click on 'Versions' --> 'Version Management'.
Now we can find all the request numbers of that object/application.
Currently this is my delima. Once in a while a build agent will reboot. It needs to always stay connected to share on one of our servers. The idea was to tell finder to mount the volume, wait 2 seconds, and then press enter...since the user name and pssword are both part of the address when I enter it such as SMB://username:password#Server1/DFS it pops up the pasword dialog fully populated but I can't get applescript to recognize it, then press either connect or the return to say "Yes" login witht hat name and don't prompt me.
it worked fine when connecting at home to a synology device but it's not working when connecting to a server in the office.
tell application "Finder" to mount volume "SMB://username:password#Server1/DFS"
delay 2
tell application "System Events" to keystroke "return" -- key code 36
Any help for this seemingly simple step would be greatly apprecited.
I have looked ove the forums and found variou stratagies but they all relate to an application like Firefox or some other script aware app. I just need it to press enter when the password dialog comes up.
First of all the Finder is not needed to mount a volume, you can delete the tell block.
Secondly, if username and password are passed the volume is supposed to mount without a dialog. Maybe you could find the reason why it doesn't.
Nevertheless the password dialog belongs to the process SecurityAgent, you have to use (ugly) GUI scripting to press the button:
tell application "System Events"
repeat until exists process "SecurityAgent"
delay 0.5
end repeat
tell window 1 of process "SecurityAgent"
click button 2
end tell
end tell
The script waits until the window appeared, this is much more reliable than an hard-coded delay.
Looks like a possible XY Problem as I would expect a solution such as https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/698/204318 to work for you to directly mount the share:
mount -t smbfs //username:password#MACHINENAME/SHARENAME /SomeLocalFolderOfChoice
However, if you are really required to interact with the dialog, and as you asked about it, take a look at this tutorial (written in Python) for scripting up something:
detect missing connection
attempt connection
capture screen periodically
look for dialog box, else loop
error after a few seconds of failure
if dialog is detected, interact with it
input username and password
wait, then press return
check if connection worked after a small delay
success or failure
This type of strategy is very powerful for interacting with all sorts of different dialogs you may encounter and should be possible in AppleScript if you are much more familiar with it (or another scripting language).
If you are open to non-AppleScript solutions, then you might consider Keyboard Maestro, one of the best Mac automation tools available.
You said:
it pops up the pasword dialog fully populated but I can't get
applescript to recognize it, then press either connect or the return
to say "Yes" login witht hat name and don't prompt me.
You could probably do this very easily using Keyboard Maestro. Here's an example of the KM Actions to accomplish this.
If you'd like help with KM, please visit the forum at:
https://forum.keyboardmaestro.com/
I'm a big AppleScript/JXA user, but I often find it easier/quicker to use KM for many automation tasks. Of course, KM Macros can execute AppleScript, JXA, Shell Scripts, and other scripts easily.
You can try a full version of KM for free for 30 days.
I'm trying to find answer how to make Asterisk execute some command (my script) after confbridge's recording is finished
There is the next info in confbridge.conf:
record_conference=yes
Records the conference call starting when the first user enters the
room, and ending when the last user exits the room.
It records file well but I want it sending wav file via email.
Could anybody help me?
My config now looks like this (if it's necessary):
exten => 333,1,ConfBridge(100010,100010_bridge_profile,100010_user_profile)
Dialplan scripting is limited to events relating to each call channel. To get event info for other parts of asterisk (such as the ConfBridge application) you should hook into the Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI).
There are many libraries already created to make working with the AMI easier. (That site may be outdated. Refer to the official Asterisk Wiki whenever possible.)
The AMI event you're interested in is "ConfBridgeEnd". Docs here.
You can use h-extension after confbridge, in which you have check if confbridge still active(last user).
If yes, run your script via System call.
I am working on a project which will batching some 834 records in file.
I setup the batching trigger as when the record count reaches a number, a batch file will release. But I also want release a batch even the record count is not reached (for example, every night, release all queueing record as a final file).
I know it can be done by click the override button in Batch Configuration window, but it need be done automatically.
So, basically, my question is, what did BizTalk do when I clicked the override button? Does BizTalk prove anyway to let me do that in a program?
I must say I did not try to send a controlmessage to a batch setting as release per record count, if you know this works, please let me know.
You're almost there and to complete the process isn't that difficult.
Leave the Batch configuration at the records count as it is.
Then, setup a process where an External Release trigger is sent at the appropriate time. A Windows Scheduled Task is a viable option, it can copy a file to a File Receive Location.
This article describes how to create the trigger message: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb246108.aspx
I have a database where one entry is structured like so:
number_to_call date file_to_play
Using asterisk, I need to do the following:
1. Check the database daily.
2. If date matches that of today's, then initiate call on number.
3. Once phone has been picked up, play file_to_play.
Some general pointers on how I even begin to do this would be great.
Most of the applications that I have written so far have worked on incoming calls. I have the following questions:
1. How do I write a "daemon" that will check the database? Asterisk should have both user and group privileges for it to execute properly. How do I do this?
2. Can I initiate an outgoing call from outside of the asterisk dialplan?
The calls are being made to a PSTN/mobile number.
You can Write any script Which can check DB on daily basis and once it maches the date range you can initiate a call using .call files.
Please study asterisk auto-dial out from voip-info.org - I think you can understand better then.
You can run your script for same user as asterisk runs there is also one more method to initiate call from linux which we can call Originate CLI command which can also refer to http://voip-info.org/.
In general it is not a great idea to write your own dialer, unless your volume is very very low. Where I work, we started rolling our own but at the end went with a commercial solution that handled most of the logic. There are a number of commercial and free solutions out there, so don't reinvent the wheel.
See my answer to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11666755/outbound-dialer-using-asterisk/14589901#14589901 for why it is not a good idea to roll your own.
