How to update gridview through design code/ aspx page code - asp.net

I'm trying to update GridView every time I update, delete or insert any record. Now I have provided sql data source code for GridView in Design Code not form code. Now how can I update it from there ? When I write GridView1.databind() on form code, it says
> Both DataSource and DataSourceID are defined on 'GridView1'. Remove one definition.
Can someone tell me how to DataBind in design view, to update GridView every time I insert/update/delete record ?
Here is GridView1 Code
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" AutoGenerateSelectButton="True" BackColor="White" BorderColor="#999999" BorderStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="1px" CellPadding="3" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" ForeColor="Black" GridLines="Vertical" Width="284px">
<AlternatingRowStyle BackColor="#CCCCCC" />
<Columns>
<asp:BoundField DataField="name" HeaderText="name" SortExpression="name" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="surname" HeaderText="surname" SortExpression="surname" />
<asp:BoundField DataField="amount" HeaderText="amount" SortExpression="amount" />
</Columns>
<FooterStyle BackColor="#CCCCCC" />
<HeaderStyle BackColor="Black" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" />
<PagerStyle BackColor="#999999" ForeColor="Black" HorizontalAlign="Center" />
<SelectedRowStyle BackColor="#000099" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" />
<SortedAscendingCellStyle BackColor="#F1F1F1" />
<SortedAscendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#808080" />
<SortedDescendingCellStyle BackColor="#CAC9C9" />
<SortedDescendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#383838" />
</asp:GridView>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:myDbConnectionString %>" SelectCommand="SELECT [name], [surname], [amount] FROM [Table1]"></asp:SqlDataSource>

Set the DataSourceID to null.
GridView1.DataSourceID = null;
GridView1.DataSource = dt;
GridView1.DataBind();

That error was coming because data was being binded on both Design view code as well as web form backend code.
I simply added GridView1.DataSourceID = null;
and that did the job.

Thanks.
This is because of how you bind your data source. When you declare a data source like DataSourceID="sdsProducts" in your GridView's markup, that data source will bind its data to your GridView each time the page loads.
So when your page loads for the first time, your data source retrieves an empty set of data and binds it to the GridView, showing your EmptyDataTemplate.
An alternative approach is to bind via the code behind. This way you tell it exactly when you want it to bind, avoiding any binding on the first page load if you so choose.

Incorrect syntax near 'int' when using updatecommand on a gridview

I have a problem that when ever I try to update a record in the database using gridview update event handler and an updatecommand in sqldatascource
I get the following exception
Incorrect syntax near 'int'.
the weird thing is when I reload the page I find that the record was updated successfully but yet I need this exception message not to appear what should I do
update event handler
protected void GridView1_RowUpdating(object sender, GridViewUpdateEventArgs e)
{
GridViewRow row = GridView1.Rows[e.RowIndex];
int BusId = Convert.ToInt32(((DataKey)GridView1.DataKeys[e.RowIndex]).Value);
TextBox Capacity =(TextBox) row.Cells[1].Controls[0];
TextBox DriverName =(TextBox) row.Cells[3].Controls[0];
TextBox Phone =(TextBox) row.Cells[4].Controls[0];
SqlDataSource1.UpdateParameters.Add("capaity", Capacity.Text);
SqlDataSource1.UpdateParameters.Add("id", BusId.ToString());
SqlDataSource1.UpdateParameters.Add("driver", DriverName.Text);
SqlDataSource1.UpdateParameters.Add("phone", Phone.Text);
SqlDataSource1.Update();

can't add DataKeyNames into Grid View

I'm originally having problems with detecting the status of a checkbox in my grid View.
Apparently one of the solutions to the problem would be adding DataKeyNames value to the Grid View. But if i add DataKey value to my Grid View it's not being populated when I run the code.
Can anybody point me on my mistake?
here is the original head of the grid View which can be populated:
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" CellPadding="4" ForeColor="#333333"
GridLines="None" Width="1500px">
Here is the code after i add the DataKeyNames:
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" CellPadding="4" ForeColor="#333333"
GridLines="None" Width="1500px" DataKeyNames="account_id">
And here is the backend code to populate the gridView
Dim StrQwery As String = "SELECT account_id, account_name bla bla bla"
Dim smd As MySqlCommand
smd = New MySqlCommand(StrQwery, myconn)
smd.CommandType = CommandType.Text
Dim da As New MySqlDataAdapter(smd)
Dim cb As New MySqlCommandBuilder(da)
Dim ds As New DataSet()
da.Fill(ds)
GridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables(0)
GridView1.DataBind()
I can't understand why the values are not filled in Grid View after I add DatakeyNames
the entire code of Grid View

How to put 3 GridViews inside a Repeater

I have a long table, so I want to split it into 3 GridView. Each GridView will have different headers (different columns from the DB). I want to use one SqlDataSource. For that, I am thinking to use a Repeater and then put 3 GridViews inside it.
Since I am using StoredProcedure that asks for one parameter in order to specify the headers of each GridView, I set the that parameter as HiddenField but even with that I did not get any result.
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater1" runat="server" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:HiddenField ID="HiddenField1" runat="server" Value='<%#Eval("GroupID")%>' />
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:testConnectionString %>"
SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure">
<SelectParameters>
<asp:ControlParameter ControlID="HiddenField1" />
</SelectParameters>
</asp:SqlDataSource>
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AllowSorting="True" CellPadding="4"
DataKeyNames="BadgeNo" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" ForeColor="#333333"
GridLines="None">
<AlternatingRowStyle BackColor="White" ForeColor="#284775" />
<Columns>
<asp:CommandField ShowSelectButton="True" />
</Columns>
<EditRowStyle BackColor="#999999" />
<FooterStyle BackColor="#5D7B9D" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" />
<HeaderStyle BackColor="#5D7B9D" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="White" />
<PagerStyle BackColor="#284775" ForeColor="White" HorizontalAlign="Center" />
<RowStyle BackColor="#F7F6F3" ForeColor="#333333" />
<SelectedRowStyle BackColor="#E2DED6" Font-Bold="True" ForeColor="#333333" />
<SortedAscendingCellStyle BackColor="#E9E7E2" />
<SortedAscendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#506C8C" />
<SortedDescendingCellStyle BackColor="#FFFDF8" />
<SortedDescendingHeaderStyle BackColor="#6F8DAE" />
</asp:GridView>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server"
ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:testConnectionString %>"
SelectCommand="SELECT DISTINCT GroupID
from courses">
</asp:SqlDataSource>
In order to solve this problem you should have to plan or design the dataSource - may be you can use Linq or Entity Model or DataSet. I think the SqlDataSource is not appropriate here.
In current code-snippet, you should have to design SELECT - sql statement with where condition/clause of SqlDataSource for GridView controls.

How to make a Gridview template field select the row of data?

I have a command field in a gridview, that as it is, works as it should. When i select it, the row is hilighted. However, i needed to convert this field into a template, so i could give it a ID that i could reference when using a AJAX Mobal control. I did this, and i am able to reference it with my Ajax control just fine, but, now this field does not select the row in the Gridview? The Select value is needed for the Ajax control to pull the data thru. So i think my issue is, How do i use this command field as a template, AND have it select the row? I hope i am explaining my issue correctly.
Here is the snippet of code when i convert it into a template.
Thank you!

In the RowDataBound event, try something like this:
protected void GridView3_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
LinkButton btn = (LinkButton)e.Row.FindControl("LinkButton1");
btn.OnClientClick = Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(GridView3, "Select$" + e.Row.RowIndex.ToString()));
}
