I've added an expanding input field in my Bootstrap .navbar, that only shows once the search button has been clicked. Right now the expanded input field pushes the menu-items to the left. When positioning #search-form absolute, the input field breaks out of on the right side of the container.
How can I make the search-form overlap the menu-times to the left?
Example:
$(function() {
$("#search-button, #search-icon").click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$("#search-button, #search-form").toggle();
});
});
#search-form {
display: none;
max-width: 300px;
}

This did the job:
.nav>li:last-child {
position: absolute;
right: 15px;
}

I'd like to have the flexbox cards view horizontally and vertically on any screen. I've done it like this and successfully figured out how to display the cards horizontally, but when you try viewing it on a mobile device or smaller screen, the cards remain horizontal. I tried using bootstrap card-deck that didn't help. When i used col d-flex justify-content-center, this allowed the cards to resize but they still don't stack vertically. In other instances i have just used card-deck like here and and its worked fine. Please any suggestions.

Since you're using Bootstrap, it's easier to do it with Bootstrap like this:
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-md navbar-light bg-light">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">
<img src="yourlogo.com" class="d-inline-block align-top" width="32" height="32" alt="Your logo" />web.com</a>
<button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navigation-bar-content" aria-controls="navigation-bar-content" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Expand navigation">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navigation-bar-content">
<ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">
<li class="nav-item active">
<a class="nav-link" href="#">About <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link disabled" href="#">Products</a>
</li>
</ul>
<form class="form-inline my-2 my-lg-0">
<input class="form-control mr-sm-2" type="search" placeholder="Search..." aria-label="Search">
<button class="btn btn-outline-success my-2 my-sm-0" type="submit">Submit</button>
</form>
</div>
</nav>
When used on a phone, the navigation menu folds into a hamburger. You can verify this, for example, using the developer tools (CTRL + SHIFT + I in Chrome).
Of course, you need to have some sort of search function for that search field or it won't work for you. You can also add a dropdown there, but you must also have JavaScript linked.
Normally, I would just do position: relative and do left: 500px. But, the best part about Bootstrap is that it's responsive. I don't want to get rid of the responsive feature of Bootstrap. How do I center an li in Bootstrap inside of my nav?
Please view the snippet in Full Page mode. My goal is to move the two "Links" to the middle of the div. They are both li's. How do I accomplish this?

Just you can do it in this way--
Add a class .navbar-centre to the ul which contains the links to be centered.
Then add the css like the snippet.

left: 50%;
transform: translatex(-50%);

I would like to have a button in the navbar that is:
inline with the rest of the navbar items (i.e. it doesn't get pushed to the next line);
located outside of the collapsed navbar section; and
always positioned in the center of the page for all screen resolutions (including when the right-side of the navbar is collapsed).
I am having particular problems with:
centering the button; and
some of the navbar items not working for smaller screen resolutions (when navbar is collapsed).
Below is my code.
Alternative CSS that I tried:
.navbar-button {
position: absolute;
left: 0;
width: 100%;
text-align: center;
white-space: nowrap;
}
but this caused some of the other navbar links to not work. I subsequently tried to make use of z-index, but it didn't seem to work.
body {
padding-top: 50px;
padding-bottom: 20px;
}
.section {
margin-bottom: 30cm;
}
.navbar-button {
display: inline-block;
text-align: center;
}

You can use position : absolute but don't apply 100% width as it's mostly likely covering your links/toggle button. You can also apply the .navbar-btn directly to the button inside of an outer div.
Example CSS:
.button-center {
position: absolute;
left: 50%;
transform: translateX(-50%);
}
Working Example:
body {
padding-top: 50px;
padding-bottom: 20px;
}
.section {
margin-bottom: 30cm;
}
.button-center {
position: absolute;
left: 50%;
transform: translateX(-50%);
}

With Bootstrap 3 navigation bar, I want to display Google place options on an input text field. Following is the screen shot for same:
As can be seen from screen shots, when navbar is fixed, options are displayed at the back. And, when navbar is static, options are displayed as expected. I want the options to be displayed properly when navbar is fixed.
I tried to point the code on bootply but, it's not working. Working code at JSFiddle. Also, code is as under:
