I am adding a web application to my local iis. I added the path to the folder with the bin is inside. I specified the application pool and applied my login credentials. When I hit test settings, everything passed. When I typed mysite.local on the browser, I get the following. I also clicked on Browse Website and get the same error. This is on my personal PC.
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.comicrage.local.
Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Have you added mysite.local to the hosts file? If not, add the following to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
127.0.0.1 mysite.local
The hosts file is responsible for any local overrides that should take precedence over DNS.
I am using PHP (5.3) to upload jpeg files, create folders for those files and store them. I have a development version and a live version both running on the same server (CentOS 7, Apache, Plesk 12).
On the live version, I am experiencing no problems, but on the dev version, the files are uploading successfully but I am getting nginx 404 errors when trying to access them through the browser.
If I try to access something which doesn't exist, I get a standard 404 error (not an nginx one).
When checking the access_log, I see a 200 code for the files.
Nothing in the error_log nor in the nginx error log.
No differences in PHP code, folder structure or configuration.
I recently changed servers and this is the first time I have attempted this upload on the dev system on this new server. Live version is used daily for this activity.
If I try to access older uploads on the dev server, they all work fine. It is only affecting new uploads.
Permissions and ownership are the same for both live and dev systems and old/new folders/files.
If I manually upload a jpeg to the folder, it also triggers an nginx 404 when accessed.
I have no experience with nginx so I am at a loss as to what I can try to resolve this issue.
It looks like you have upload and access files in one place but checking log in another place.
Are you sure you have no issues with domain name resolving?
Also it can be issue with virtual host - when you access file it overtaken by some other virtual host. It maybe default host for IP address.
I recommend you grep all system and vhost logs for file you have trying to access.
I have first installed my WAMP Server on my personnal PC. It worked fine.
Then I pluged that PC in a network of a company (25 PC in total). I had acces to all there network. And I managed to make it work and accessible to everyone in the company but the WAMP is still on my computer.
To resolve that little problem, they got a Server with Windows Server 2012 installed. So I wanted to install my WAMP + DB, on this server.
So I installed correctly WAMP and MySql but when I go to the url that I put exactly the same on my personal PC, it shows me an error like : HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Like if the WAMP wasn't launched but I'm sure it is launched correctly.
Can this be a firewall issue ? Like an service bloking the port 80 (I guess ?).
Sorry but the network isn't my best subject.
EDIT
I found from where my error comes.
When I go to my url 10.13.48.60:80/my_page.php
In my error message, I see Physical Path C:\inetpub\wwwroot\
but thats wrong, it should just be Physical Path C:\WAMP\www\
How can I change that ?
I am beginner in Drupal, I have downloaded site file from the dev server using Git and while I am trying to run these files in the htdocs(xampp) by localhost. I got the below error
Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete
your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in
a CGI script.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 500

The following link has more details but basicly you need to firs backup and download the database used on yor dev drupal site and upload it on your copy of xampp. After that you need to edit your configuration and maybe your .htacess (if not using the default one that comes with drupal) for your local pc.

I have migrated our company web apps from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. The are all .Net 2.0 classic web apps. They all seem to work fine, except when accessing any resource with a path starting with /Reports/...
In one app the physical path on disk is c:\Websites\app_name\WebService\Reports... In this reports folder PDF files are dynamically generated and written to disk. They can be accessed via a URL such as this:
http://domain_name/Reports/xxxx.pdf
where /Reports is a virtual directory mapping to the physical path above. This worked fine on 2003 server & IIS6 but on IIS7.5 & 2008 R2 I keep getting the following error:
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /Reports/xxxx.pdf
I have another web app that generates the reports dynamically and streams them directly to the client browser for saving to the local disk, rather than being written to disk on the server. Similar to the above example, the page that generates the report is found under path as follows:
/Reports/Viewer.aspx
In this case there is no virtual directory being used. The URL referenced in the browser is:
http://another_domain_name//Reports/Viewer.aspx
Once again I get the same error message as above... HTTP 404 - The resource cannot be found.
I have tried all the permission settings under the sun to try and get it working but to no avail. I've use built in accounts, created new accounts with permissions from very minimal right up to full admin rights. I've also played with the new AppPool Identities with no success. It doesn't seem to matter what permissions I set specifically on the directories, or the accounts configured for the app pool or basic settings on each website itself.
Once thing I have discovered though, is that whilst the browser is getting the HTTP 404 error, there is no record of this request appearing in the IIS log files for each website!! This is really confusing me, as I would definitely expect to see a failed 404 log entry on the requested resource.
Something else to note, I'm running SQL Server 2008 Enterprise on this machine with Reporting services installed and enabled. It's a stretch, but could there be some contention over the /Reports path in my websites vs something else running on the machine? I'm using different bindings/host headers for each individual domain and website running on the server.
Check Reports folder conflict. And remember, Google is faster than SO.
IIS gives 404 errors for more than just File Not Found these days - so it doesn't give away too much to attackers. Have a look at the event log (application), and also try accessing it from the server itself.
The other thing to check is that your IIS app pools are correctly configured - especially with the correct pipeline mode and .NET framework version.
At a command prompt, type:
netsh http show urlacl
See if there are any bindings with /reports/ --maybe a left over from a SQL Server Reporting Services install?
