Akeneo: Get attributes from a Variant group - symfony

I want to check if some attribute values have changed after editing a Variant group in Akeneo V. 1.3.
Unfortunately I am a little bit lost: Is there a way to get from a Pim\Bundle\CatalogBundle\Entity\Group to the attribute values? Is there another better way to get these values of a Variant group that was edited?
I cannot even find out in which table the attribute values are stored in MySQL (I've just found pim_catalog_product_value for the product values).

Yes, it's not easy to dig into this part.
The values of a variant group are not stored in the same way than the products values.
These variant group values are only used to be copied in related products and are stored in a product template.
From a product template, you can fetch the values normalized in json with
$group->getProductTemplate()->getValuesData()`.
You can take a look on ProductTemplateApplier and ProductTemplateUpdater to see how we apply variant group values on products (json format is useable almost directly with product updater).
When we edit a variant group, to be able to use the same form than for the product, we use a subscriber TransformProductTemplateValuesSubscriber.
It denormalizes json values to product values objects with
$this->denormalizer->denormalize($data->getValuesData(), 'ProductValue[]', 'json');`

Using 'Filter by Column Value' and multi column filtering using a java vector - xPages

I have an xPage which I have built with 3 combo boxes and 1 view control. I would like to use the 'Filter by column value' option within the view control to provide the options to filter the values, allowing the user to display any combination of the combo boxes. e.g. Only comboBox1, or comboBox1 and comboBox2, or comboBox3 only, or comboBox1 and comboBox2 and comboBox3.
I used the example in the 'xPages Demonstration Application' (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/xpagesdemoapp.htm or http://xpagesblog.com/XPagesHome.nsf/Entry.xsp?documentId=AAC8E26599256FDC852578CB0066CC13) to do the multi-column filtering using a vector of non-categorized columns.
So, I have come across what appears to be a fairly major issue whereby the data needs to be sorted by date. Date is not one of the filters, but it needs to be the first column in order for the data to be sorted correctly. So my first column is a string, YYYYMMDD, to ensure the data is sorted correctly. I tried to use the sort option within the view control and that does not appear to work with the column filtering implemented in this manner.
So, as Date one of the criteria I am filtering by, I have passed that as an empty string - using the thought process that an empty string will select all (as in the url examples above).
The code I have used to do the filtering is:

What I have found is that not all data is being returned. I thought this might be due to the date field. So I removed it (changing the view and removing the first add element), and yet I still find that not all data is being returned. I suspect that this might be due to the empty strings being passed, or, that this does not actually work the way I had hoped.
Does anyone know if I can get this working the way I want it to, and if not, do you have any suggestion on how I can go about this?
Date is not needed as the first sortable column in the view. The first column does need to be sorted for the lookup to work just like the Notes view needs to be sorted for #DbColumn and #DbLookup to work. XPages uses the same underlining architecture. This example - http://dev.openntf.org/demos/demoapp.nsf/viewFilteringVector.xsp - works without the data being sorted by Date.
My guess as to why your example isn't working is down to how your Notes view sorted. Try creating a new view with column 1 (email) ascending sort, column 2 (own) ascending sort, and column 3 (module) again ascending sort. You should be able to get vector filtering working in this situation.
If all that doesn't work for you, you might consider multi-layer category filtering (new to 853). This filtering type in XPages is related to how categoryFilter works but allow you to filter a view by the sub-category (or sub-categories) too. This technique might suit your scenario better. How to describe (enumerate) picklist enties valid for a specific record type in Salesforce?

In apex code I want to enumerate the legal values for a picklist field. To do this I can just call Account.Foobar__c.getDescribe().getPickListValues() and I've got a list of Schema.PickListEntry values.
However it's possible to setup multiple record types for a given sObject. For example Account might have "Manufacturer", "Distributor" and "Retailer" record types. In the Salesforce setup it is possible edit (limit) the picklist entries for each field based on record type. So Retailer type accounts might only use a subset of the picklist values for the Foobar field.
So basically I want Account.Foobar__c.getDescribe().getPickListValues('Retailer') however this is not the syntax. The validFor method looks promising, but it seems like it is only for field dependent picklists - a picklist filtered only by record type returns false for isDependentPicklist.
I know this is an old post, but maybe the info below will help someone who still needs the answer.
I found here that one can actually get a list of record type specific picklist values by making a describeLayout() call.
Using your example (C#):

Replace "01230000000xxXxXXX" with a RecordTypeId of your Retailer record type object. Use the query "SELECT Id FROM RecordType WHERE Name = 'Retailer'" to get the value.
Replace 12345 with an index of your picklist object that you would like to get values of.
You can't do it in pure Apex AFAIK, unfortunately. The metadata API does expose it.

How can I get results for a dimension (custom variables), where the value is not set?

I am using custom variables to track order ids. In order to aggregate analytics data into out data warehouse, I want to select a number of metrics with the custom variable as a dimension. However, if I do so, I will not get the entries where the variable is not set (E.g. sessions that didn't result in a sale). I need to get these as well.
Can I write a filter or segment that selects only the entries that doesn't have a particular custom variable? I have tried:
segment=dynamic::ga:customVarValue1==
But that doesn't seem to work (It gives no results back).
Basically I'm looking for the equivalent to where ga:customVarValue1 is null in sql.
In short, it's not possible to get the nullset data, as explained by a Google rep:
For some dimensions, GA uses the default value of (not set).
Custom Variable do not have a default value, so if a hit does not have a
custom variable associated with it, all the other dimensions in the query
are not added to the reports.
The original answer is a little confusing, but when you read between the lines it suggests that they throw out these "empty" values when they run their aggregates.
The "correct" approach, as he explains, is to set a default value for any row you want reported:
If you need to see the (not set) value, you could try sending a default
value for custom variables.
For example if you use visitor level custom vars to track member vs
non-member, you should always set non-member as a default for everybody;
then modify to member once they register.

I've just had some success solving this by using a Regex to capture users or sessions where the custom dimension has no value. In my case I want to separate logged in and logged out users.
The Regex .+ will capture any non-empty value, so can be used to get the job done.
The filters for my Returning users segment is matches regex: .+ like this:
For the Customer prospects I used: does not match regex: .+ like this:

Asp.Net Sql Auto-Increment for Wall Post

I have a table that contains three columns.
"UserId" type-nvarchar
"PostAuthorId" type-nvarchar
"Post" type-text
This table will contain "wall" posts like in facebook for each user's page. I am going to use a gridview on each user's page to display the posts. The issue is I want to display them with the latest(most current) post being first and the earliest post being last.
I have never used autoincrement before and I am not sure if that is the answer. If it is, I do not know how to use it. I thought about adding a date posted column and then ordering by date.
If I end up using the date column, I could also display the date on the post. Is there a way to convert the date to a readable format?
What is the best way of implementing this type of ordering?
If you use AutoIcrement the first record will start with 1 and each record will increment from there. (default setting)
If you want to sort them by newest first do an ORDER BY ID DESC
I would suggest making a column called wallPostID then setting that to AutoIncrement and also your Primary Key

If you are displaying this data in a gridView
Go to Edit Columns on your grid view
CLick on the Date field under "Selected Fields" on the bottom left
Under "BoundField properties" on the right Go to Data -> DataFormatString

A datetime column would definitely work for something like this. Assuming you are using MS-SQL, you can also attach a default value to the column using a built-in function like GETDATE(). That way, you only have to input the data that matters and the database will take care of adding the datetime column.
For converting a datetime to a readable format try:
DateTime postDate;
string value = postDate.ToShortDateString();
You should always use an ID field that auto increments. Can also be used as your PK
I would suggest the DateTime field rather than the autoincrement simply because it will not only serve as an effective Sort field, it also preserves information that you may well want to display. If you want the most recent first you'll sort using the Date and a "DESC" modifier:
Select ... Order By [Date] DESC;
When you retrieve the data, you can retrieve it as a DateTime and modify it using C#. You can use "ToShortDateString()" as suggested by mdresser if you just wish to show the date or ToString("...") if you wish to show the time as well. You can also use SQL to convert it into a string before retrieving it:
convert(Varchar(10), #mydatetime, 101)
If you look in MSDN you'll see the various conversion codes (101 is the code used above) that can be used to translate the date in various ways.
UPDATE: You may want to use an autoincrementing field for your application for reasons other than your expressed need to sort wall entries. They are easy to use - just mark the field as an Identity if using SQL Server (other DBs are similar). As far as using them in your program, just think of the field as an Int field that you never have to set.
Now, why would you use a auto-incrementing field? Perhaps the most straightforward reason is so that they give you have an easy way to identify each record. For example, if you permit people to alter or delete their wall entries, the auto-incrementing field is ideal as it gives you a way to easily look up each record (each record will be assigned its own, unique value). You might put an "x" next to the record like StackOverflow does and make it a call back with the UID (auto-increment) value. Note that you should set up your primary key on the UID field if you'll be doing this.
Now, if you find them useful for this reason then you could also sort by the UID. I would still store the date so that you can provide Date and Time feedback as to when an entry was made on the wall but this would no longer be your indexed or sorted field.

Range on integer fields in Axapta/Dynamics Ax

Is there a way, in Axapta/Dynamics Ax, to create an Extended Data Type of type integer which only allows enering values in a specified range (i.e., if the extended data type is meant for storing years, I should be able to set a range like 1900-2100), or do I have to manage the range using X++ code?
And if I need to use X++ code to manage the range, which is the best way to do it?
I suggest you use the ''validateField'' of the corresponding table.
Search for the method in AOT\Data Dictionay\Tables to see many examples.
You can can't specify the range on the extended data type itself. If the type is used for a table field, you can add code to the insert and update methods of the table, in order to validate the value whenever the record is updated. This approach could however have a cost in terms of performance.
You can also choose to just add code the the validateWrite method of the table, if you are satisfied with the validation only taking place when the value is modified from the UI.
