Flex/Coldfusion Remoting issue. - 'Destination ColdFusion does not exist' - apache-flex

I'm trying to resolve a Flex remote object Coldfusion call. I'm getting the following error.
[MessingError message='Destination 'ColdFusion' either does not exist or the destination has no channels defined (and the application does not define any default channels.)']
When I access my CFC through a cfm page, they work. Due to the way the servers are configured, I'm having issues setting up flex with a coldfusion service when I create a new project because I'm developing on a machine, but have to push everything to the server where CF is located. I'm also wondering if the way CF is setup may be an issue. The company is running Coldfusion from the c:\inetpub directory with IIS and out of the same webroot directory they are running WordPress/MySQL (6 WP sites to be exact). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I will also add that when I create the flex project I can not set ColdFusion as the web server whether local (1.This machine doesn't run a local instance due to office permissions) and 2.) They don't have the J2EE setup.

The first thing I would check is what you get when you go to: http://www.domain.com/flex2gateway. That should give you a blank page, but if you get anything else (such as a 404) the flex gateway isn't running.
The other thing to make sure is that you set your services compiler argument on flash builder to the coldfusion services-config.xml file in the WEB-INF/flex directory.
-services c:/Coldfusion/wwwroot/WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml

How to host asp.net webapi project with the current build on IIS

I want to host my ASP.Net Web api project on IIS for local development. I have an angular UI that wants to access this API. So for this reason I don't want to run my ASP.Net project all the time, if it were running on IIS would be better. I read many articles but none of them seemed to resolve my problem.
I know how to publish my project and then host the published version of the current build but what I don't want to do is having to do a publish every time I build just to test my code.
If I am not mistaken there is an option for deploying a new version of my project with every build. Again I don't want it to be production ready, I only need it for local development to test my API.
When I was using the publish > host currently published version on IIS the application was running.
When I was configuring IIS to point to the application folder where the solution is found as well (that is what I saw in an article about configuring IIS) I got: "HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
The solution is:
Go to IIS Manager in windows
On the left hand side of the panel, right-click -> add new website
Add a Site name that you like
Set up a Physical path, that should point to your project folder (so not where your solution is but where your ASP.Net project is)
Add a unique port that number that you make sure you are not currently using
Add a host name, and register it in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file with your local ip address

ASP.NET Core - Application not connecting to database after publishing

I created a simple ASP.Net Core application with user authentication (so all the Entity Framework has been preloaded into the web app template). It is connecting to my database with the connectionString that is located in my appsettings.json file, with "data source = {computerName}\\{serverName}" setup.
The database instance and Visual Studio are located on the same machine. This works fine in returning data to the web api while within development and debugging mode. When I publish it and try to go to the site from a domain name it does allow me to view the webpages that are not needing database connection but the rest that need data from the database returns pages like this:
Error.
An error occurred while processing your request.
Development Mode
Swapping to Development environment will display more detailed information about the error that occurred.
Development environment should not be enabled in deployed
applications, as it can result in sensitive information from
exceptions being displayed to end users. For local debugging,
development environment can be enabled by setting the
ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT environment variable to Development, and
restarting the application.
I have tried to change the Environment Variables for ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT from Development to Production to no success.
I have tried adding appsettings.Production.json to publishOptions in my project.json file, even though there is no file appsettings.Production.json, and this did not help. dotnet publish
Adding the evironment variable in the web.config file did not work Deployment
I need help getting the published web api to connect to my SQL Server database from outside the development Visual Studio setup.
The last thing I can think of is that maybe I am incorrect in how I understand the connection string. If the web api uses the connection string to connect to the database from the server-side then it should work just fine like it does when in development calling to http://localhost:port# since it's all on the same machine. But, if the database string needs to be based on a client-side call then it would have to be with domain names and IP addresses.
Can someone tell me which one it is?
The only thing else that comes to mind is that there is something I am not doing, and need to do, inside of IIS Manager. I see connect string there as well but unsure what that is for our does since the connection string is inside the application. Also maybe I am suppose to give the app some kind of authorization to communicate with the database server even though they are on the same machine???
After much research, finally googling "how to deploy a web api in iis" I was able to learn from Host ASP.NET Web API in IIS using Visual Studio Publish that I needed to add the security entity BUILTIN\IIS_IUSRS. Then placing a mapping to my database tables and giving db_datareader (and possibly db_datawriter) for the database to the IUSER to allow access from my self hosted IIS web api. This from the above mentioned link with the part stating
Accessing Database under IIS APPPOOL\ASP.NET v4.0
As we are using ASP.NET v4.0 App Pool make sure IIS APPPOOL\ASP.NET v4.0 is added to your Database Server -> Security -> Logins.

COM Applications not working

Our Test web server recently went down and we lost COM+ Applications installations. I am trying to reinstall the COM Applications. I have the installed the COM Applications and have the Identity set to run as Local Service. I have Security set to Perform access checks at the process and component level. The activation type is Server Application.
Environment:
Windows Server 2003
Classic ASP
I have verified that ASP is installed and works. I get a 500 Internal Server error when the page gets to a point to call CreateObject.
There must be a security setting somewhere that I am missing. I have tried giving Local Service Account and Network Service account full permissions on the root folder housing the .dll's.
Can't pinpoint it because the possible causes are legion.
There should be a setting in ASP that will report the HRESULT of the failed CreateObject call, instead of a useless 500 - Internal Error. From there, it should be easier to go on.
Aren't you unsure about LocalService, too? Shouldn't it be NetworkService instead?
Sorry that this is rather meager.
Found the problem. We had to go into IIS, view the website properties, go to the Home Directory, Click on Configuration and then the Options tab and finally check the "Enable Parent Path" checkbox.

IIS7 Replication Configuration Settings

I am trying to set up a web farm where IIS configuration settings are replicated between the 2 servers. I do not want to use a shared configuration as this presents another point of failure. I have both machines (WWW1 and WWW2) set up to use a configuration file on D:\IISConfig. With this done I manually copy the configruation files from WWW1 to WWW2 and WWW2 works just fine. I then took it one step further and added file replication to automatically push any changes on WWW1 to WWW2. Then I added an App Pool to WWW1. At this point I can also browse my website with no issues on WWW1. When I went to IIS7 on WWW2 , I could see the new app pool . . .- GREAT. I tried to browse the website on WWW2 and I get an error that shuts down the DefaultAppPool:
The Module DLL c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\authsspi.dll failed to load. The data in this error . . .
Any ideas why this might be occuing and how to get arround it?
Thanks
Belongs on Serverfault.com?
I think that when you use the configuation file and path, it is pretty much the same as using a shared configuration.
I would check that you have exactly the same modules loaded as it sounds to me like you have a security module on one web server that is not on the other, the config file is telling it to load which is causing the server to fail.
I would use the shared configuration instead.
In my Windows 2008 cluster, I have IIS set to use the shared configuration where the configuration folder is set to a folder on the local server. Then I have that folder set up as a DFS share. That way the IIS changes are automatically replicated in the cluster and the server's don't have to talk to a remote server to get the config files. This has been working great for years.
I know this is an old question, but the actual issue here is that it failed to load an authentication module.
authsspi.dll is provided by adding 'Basic Authentication' as part of the Web Server role in Windows Server. I can see this being an issue if (like me) you're accidentally using Shared Configuration across 2 or more servers that don't have an identical Role configuration for IIS.

Why does ASP.NET show this error?

I have installed Visual Studio .NET 2005. But when I am trying to execute an asp.net application then I am getting the following error:
Unable to open the Web 'http://localhost/adiii'. Could not find a Web server at 'localhost' on port 80. Please check to make sure that the Web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything is correct, the Web server may be temporarily out of service.
Click here to view screenshot of the error I am getting
Can anyone please tell me the solution of this problem. As we know there is embedded Web deployment server inside VS2005 then why its giving me this error??
It looks like when you created the project, you selected HTTP for the location instead of the default, File System. HTTP means you have an existing web server (not Visual Studio) that you want to run and test your project on (and where Visual Studio will attempt to find your source code).
Create a project and select File System to create a project on your harddrive that will be run using Visual Studio's internal web server (you can then publish/deploy the project to a real web server when you want)
Are you explicitly have defined that the internal web server should run the application on port 80?
The default behavior is that it runs on a random port.
If your settings are ok, then it might be a port conflict with another web server on your machine (Apache, IIS).
Sometimes even a Skype can okuppy port 80 and cause similar problems.
Update:
Now i see - you're using Web Site project, and we assumed you're working with Web App project instead.
In this case, the procedure is slightly different:
You select the project in Solution Explorer and open Property Pane. Here you should be able to identify two properties for the project: Port number and Use dynamic ports. I assume your first property is set to 80, and second one to false. Change the second one to true and you should be able to fix the problem.
There's a very good chance that you created the project in VS2003 and upgraded it to VS2005. VS2003 uses HTTP (a local installation of IIS for example), whereas VS2005 projects use the built-in server -- most likely, the upgraded project is still trying to use the local IIS which doesn't exist.
Do this: Right click on your project, choose "properties", and navigate to the "Web" tab on the window which pops up. You'll get a screen which allows you to choose which server you want to develop on, then make sure the buttons next to "Use Visual Studio Development Server" and "Auto-assign port" are checked.
Here's a visual reference if you need one:

You should be be good to go now.
Visual Studio does have an embedded web server, but it never operates on port 80. Your URL clearly points to port 80.
The most likely problem is your program itself working inappropriately, but without code I can't help much more.
