I would like to purchase the product Paymill Gateway for one of our customers. His website comes with 3 different languages: German, English and French
As far as I know Paymill supports these 3 languages but how exactly would that work? Can I only CHOOSE between one of those languages or would the details of the page automatically get translated whenever the user switches the language of the website?
I hope somebody has experience with this plugin and can update me with some details.
you should consider trying out the free but official alternative on https://wordpress.org/plugins/paymill/
In the official plugin there are several language packs included which are loaded depending on your language settings in WordPress. The plugin WordPress MultiLanguage can help to serve different languages and switching between them.
Please also note that support requests may be faster handled on official support forum https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/paymill
If you are using the paymill.createToken function, validation happens in JavaScript. The function passes an error object in its callback; the error code can be accessed through error.apierror.
You can build a language map to display the error message in different languages. For example:
var messages={
'en':{
'field_invalid_card_number':'Invalid Card Number',
'field_invalid_card_exp': The card has expired'
},
'de':{
'field_invalid_card_number':'Ungueltige Kartenummer',
'field_invalid_card_exp':'Die Karte ist abgelaufen'
}
}
Then with some additional logic you may display the suitable target language.

I have an application in ASP.Net in AngularJS, until then that my application had the need only in Brazil, but recently the company where I work needs to make this site available to other countries in other languages like Spanish and English.
I have never worked with International applications, so there will be many doubts and difficulties.
I'll start with the difficulties:
- My application has fixed texts in the html, database and code, how can I translate all these fronts? Is there a component that translates everything into the client? (Javascript, AngularJS, etc ...).
- Development time for this change (Too much code to change).
Questions: - Decimal, Date and Time, how to work with these values in an International application? (My application has many logs and values to display and insert)
I'm researching a lot but really needed a hint of where I could go.
Thank you, I'll wait!
I would start searching for "Localization". There is something called "AspNetBoilerplate" that has implemented localization into there project. Here is their link: https://aspnetboilerplate.com/ and here is document on how to use it within their project: https://aspnetboilerplate.com/Pages/Documents/Localization. You can easily download a free project and see what they did to implement it.
They have different localization files based on language being used. The language being used is a setting in the DB based upon the tenant that logs in. All static text looks up to its respective localization file (See their .Core project under "Localization" to see all their files).
As far as DateTimes/Decimals/etc, I would have extension methods that looked up the cached localization being used and format respectively.
By no means am I recommending you use this software but rather see how they implemented it within their project. Also, know that I have only had to do this once and there may be numerous other ways to accomplish this goal.
I have a plan to support several (3 for now) languages in my bot (that has only one now) and I can't decide is it better to have separate bots (one for each language) or a single multilingual bot. For multiple bots pros are that I can specify description/name in correct language and it is not required to ask new users to choose a language (in all bot stores now it is not possible to specify multiple descriptions also). But it is a bit more difficult to maintain them. Anyone has an experience on it and could suggest something?
Thanks!
I'd say you can manage your multilangual bot as the same way an app or website is internationalized.
Nothing more, nothing less. Just a user preference for the user language and the strings translated for the bot.
I would not worry about the language description: use english. You can always market the bot on different sites using different languages.
I am use this example to internationalize my website.
The admin can create new topics in English, and I want to show the same topic in Spanish.
How can this be done?
it isn't standars works like Register or other to do that
Html.ActionLink(Resources.Register, "Register")
The admin can create topics - this means that content is dynamic, therefore you can't use resources files any longer. You should structure your database to support localization. Then you would have to read language locale from thread that's currently being executed.
Additionally, you may let user to select his language. In this scenario you will store selected language in a session and retrieve localized data from the database based on language locale in the session.
Finally you can write code to read first default language in a web browser. For example, change your language to hungarian in a web browser and go to google, see what happens.
You should use Localization and Globalization, take a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/c6zyy3s9.aspx
I'm considering which software to use for a blog that I would like to install in a personal home server (synology). Here are my requirements:
Language management: I'll be writing in different languages, and some entries would be translated in different languages, not always the same. Blog readers should be able to select which languages they can/wish to read. For instance, if they chose English, then all entries which have English translation would appear in English, the remaining appearing in whatever language they were written, or not at all.
RSS customization: the blog will broach different subjects. I would like the users to be able to customize a RSS syndication which corresponds to their interests, so that the sigal to noise ration in their RSS readers remains bearable. This should probably work with a "Categoriy" or "Tag" system.
sub-blogs: I would like to have sub-blogs with their own url, which would present a subset of the blog entries. For instance my blog could deal with politics, sports, and myLife, and I could produce the following blog urls: blog.mydomain.tld (shows everything), opinions.mydomain.tld (shows only the politics related posts), sports.mydomain.tld (all entries dedicated to sports). I would also like to theme differently those sub-blogs (i.e. a ball picture for sports.mydomain.tld, etc).
modular privacy: my intended audience is heterogeneous (family, sets of friends, the internet), and I would like to be able to limit access to certain entries to different subsets of users. To me, the most obvious way to do this would be to define users with a login and password. I would then pool them into groups, and define for each entry if it is private, and if so which groups can read it. I do not necessarily want to share the same things between my neighbors and my school friends.
That also brings the issue of RSS syndication: either each user would have its how RSS thread, or then RSS could be category specific and the private entries would appear without content. Perhaps other possibilities exist.
These set of features are quite specific. I was thinking of using a blog software to implement them, but perhaps I'm thinking this wrong and I should use a CMS or even a framework?
Another point is that this is done for "fun", and although I can program (python, etc), this is not my day job, so it should not require expert level skills or full time investment to implement. A solution which involves me developing a whole new blog application is not adapted to my constraints.
EDIT
OpenID: I like the Stack Overflow login system (check this screen capture of it), because most readers already have an OpenID, and in any case do not need to create a specific one for my blog. The system I would use should be capable of using the OpenID method of authentication
I don't know what is the best translation software around.
But I only use a Babylon Software as an Online Translator too.
You can find it at http://babylon.depapaz.com
Till now, I only use this program for my online translation software.
And I think is good enough as a Translation Software.
i have an English Drupal installation but the frontend needs to be dutch. Now i asked a few weeks ago if it's possible to install a different backend and frontend language but this seems to be difficult. Now i only have one small message that isn't translated yet in the frontend and this is the required field error message (... field is required). How can i edit this translations? The may be an easy not so clean solution.
If you want an english backend and Dutch frontend you should use admin language that should fix that problem for you. In regards to translating the field required, that should be simple enough. It use a placeholder, so you might need to look for something like
#field is required
Drupal use this system when it use the same string with a dynamic value so you only need to translate it once and not for every combo.
thanks, for the admin_language module, but i found how to do this simple translation. You can override the translations using 'String overrides' ins settings.php
