I wanted to know if I can use Symphony 2 and Cassandra Database for a web project.
I know that Symphony 2 supports NoSQL databases like MongoDB, but I am not sure if it do the same with Cassandra.
Any clarification would be welcome.
Natively - no, but you could use PHP client for Cassandra, for example https://github.com/thobbs/phpcassa or even Symfony2 Bundle which just wrap up the phpcassa - https://github.com/amigos-del-rigor/ADRCassandraBundle.
You can this bundle https://github.com/M6Web/CassandraBundle build on top of the official driver from datastax
works fine whith php 5.6 or php7

I google a lot but not find any solution. Below is my problem :
I make a simple project where I use reference "IdentityServer4.Postgresql": "1.0.0"
where "using IdentityServer4.Services.InMemory" works perfectly.
But when I use "IdentityServer4.Postgresql": "2.0.0" then IdentityServer4.Services.InMemory always shows error.
That means version 2 of IdentityServer4.Postgresql not support IdentityServer4.Services.InMemory.
How can I use IdentityServer4.Services.InMemory for "IdentityServer4.Postgresql": "2.0.0"?
Thanks in advance.
IdentityServer4.Postgresql is not a part of the IdentityServer project, but sounds like a community contribution. You may have a better result by contacting the library creator.
Otherwise, you could try the official IdentityServer4.EntityFramework package that is maintained by the IdentityServer team in combination with an Entity Framework Core database provider for PostgreSQL.
The official quickstarts only show adding Entity Framework in the 8th quickstart. You'll have to do each one in succession up to the eighth one to fully understand / make sure to have the code you need.
After you have Entity Framework added to the configuration, you can support a Postgres database by just adding dependencies.
I'm developing a web site with Symfony. I'm new on this framework. Before i used Laravel 5.0 and I need to have a database with rows.
I create my db with command prompt but now I don't find how to seed it.
There is a equivalent of Laravel seeders on Symfony?
No. Seeding was a feature added by Laravel. You’ll need to use a third-party package to load seeds/fixtures into your application: http://www.sitepoint.com/data-fixtures-symfony2/
All the answers here are a bit outdated and this question is the first result on google so for future readers:
Since Symfony 3 there is an official bundle for this very purpose
Installation: composer require --dev doctrine/doctrine-fixtures-bundle
Then write your fixtures in src/DataFixtures and run php bin/console doctrine:fixtures:load
Try this package https://packagist.org/packages/evotodi/seed-bundle. Looks like it's what you need.
Their readme
Symfony/Doctrine Seed Bundle
Used to load/unload seed data from the database. Example would be to load a table with a list of states and abbreviations, or populate the users table with initial admin user(s). Unlike the DoctrineFixturesBundle which is mainly for development this bundle is for seeding the database before the initial push to production.
Is there any chance I can migrate only one database, if I have define multiple connections in my config.yml
If I run
propel:migration:diff --connection=a it still want to generate migration for all databases defined.
My vendors
propel/propel-bundle 1.2.7 Integration of Propel in Symfony2
propel/propel1 1.6.9 Propel is an open-source Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) for PHP5.
Yes, you can. Although I have Propel 1.7.1 I don't think this has changed since 1.6.9.
You have to create a separate buildtime-conf.xml file for each connection and then pass the path to this file while calling propel-gen diff. So, let's say you have a-buildtime-conf.xml:
propel-gen . diff -Dpropel.buildtime.conf.file=a-buildtime-conf.xml
I found this by debugging the GeneratorConfig::getBuildConnections() method.
I get that it saves into PHPCR through Doctrine ODM.
But I get that it is all saved in app.sqlite, but I don't see how does it works conceptually ?
Why does it need the database at all when everything is saved in app.sqlite?
Why do I need to make this kind of commands php app/console doctrine:phpcr:init:dbal and so on ?
Symfony CMF can work with different model classes. we provide a default implementation that is mapped for Doctrine PHPCR-ODM. PHPCR-ODM in turn is built on the php content repository PHPCR. there are 3 implementations of that, the cmf sandbox by default uses jackalope-doctrine-dbal. jackalope-doctrine-dbal in turn uses doctrine dbal to store content into databases supported by doctrine dbal. jackalope currently handles sqlite, mysql and postgres. jackalope-doctrine-dbal needs some initialization on the first run, which are the commands you have seen. this is the same whether we use the embedded sqlite database driver or mysql or postgres.
You find some background for the choices in choosing a storage layer and information how to set up phpcr-odm in Create a New Project with PHPCR-ODM. Look around at http://symfony.com/doc/master/cmf/index.html to have most of the CMF concepts and implementation explained.
I am currently using SubSonic (2.2 and 3) for some ASP.NET projects and have managed to get them working with SQL Server (using ActiveRecord). However, I also want to know how to set it up with other (open source) databases, e.g. PostgreSQL and SQLite. This is so I can use it on a web host without SQL Server on. The providers I have found are:
PostgreSQL: Npgsql
SQLite: System.Data.SQLite or Mono.Data.SqliteClient (if it works with Microsoft.NET)
Anyone have any experience with SubSonic know how to do this (some sample demo would be good - just a basic primer on querying would be fine)? Non-ASP.NET MVC though (not got into it yet). I have only basic knowledge of SQLite (basically using SQLite Manager in Firefox and querying it via PHP Data Objects) and have not used Postgresql, but assume it would be more scalable than SQLite.
For version 3
PostgreSQL: There aren't any templates for postgres at the moment so you'd need to create the templates yourself
SQLite - The steps should be as follows:
Add a reference to System.Data.SQLite
Look in the TemplateProviders folder you'll find a SQLite.ttinclude which you'll need to drop into your project instead of SQLServer.ttinclude.
Change the .tt files that reference SQLServer.ttinclude to reference SQLite.ttinclude instead.
This is so I can use it on a web host without SQL Server on.
With the release of SQLExpress dont all hosts offer this? (I only use dedicated server so I have no direct experiance with this)
In response to your question.
SQLite - http://codefornothing.wordpress.com/2007/07/19/sqlite-data-provider-for-subsonic-part-2/
Postgre: Doesnt look as simple,
Subsonic postgreSQL Template
PostgreSQL via subsonic
Good luck.
In short, Subsonic only support few database only NOT ALL ( that what their claimed :( ). Try nHibernate, support most of the database.
