I'm using VS 2015 and i want to develop Win Form application with .NET Framework 4.5 and SQLite.
I have install the last "System.Data.SQLite" nuget package with all dependencies to my project but I couldn't find the SQLite data provider when I was trying to add a new connection to manage my database.
I try the solution for VS 2013 from here but don't works.
there is still no bundle for VS 2015, this is the problem?
is any solution to use 2013 bundle in 2015, or other solutions?
Installing this package:
sqlite-netFx46-setup-bundle-x86-2015-1.0.103.0.exe should fix that.
You need specifically 32-bit version
From http://system.data.sqlite.org/:
This is the only setup package that is capable of installing the
design-time components for Visual Studio 2015.
This is working link at the time of writing
http://system.data.sqlite.org/downloads/1.0.103.0/sqlite-netFx46-setup-bundle-x64-2015-1.0.103.0.exe
will add sqlite to the server explorer in VS2015
For me, I had to install this package.
You have to check the second checkbox that will integrate SQLite into Visual Studio 2015 in the installation wizard.
The package Daniel showed us didn't work for me.
My configuration is this: VS 2015, from Nuget I installed Entity Framework 6, System.Data.SQLite.Core version 1.0.101, project is in .Net 4.6.1.
Install the sqlite-net nuget into your solution
the development of sqlLite data provider for ef 7 has been actually suspended.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/adonet/archive/2014/12/02/ef7-priorities-focus-and-initial-release.aspx
if you want to use it you have just to wait a bit.
I have another solution to import from 2013 with the provider using a connection string in the parameters.
And when you open it with 2015 it works but you can not change the provider options.
If you want to change the .db you must use a sqlite browser.
Sorry for my english.I hope you have understood
cya
You old application from VS 2013 and sqlite will work but you can not connect to new database or edit EF model until Sqlite publish design-time components for Visual Studio 2015.

I recently switched to using Visual Studio Enterprise 2017. My solution builds just fine in Visual Studio Enterprise 2015, but when I try to build in 2017 I get an error.
Output window says:
At
C:\Repos\...\MyProject\_CreateNewNuGetPackage\DoNotModify\New-NuGetPackage.ps1:1206
char:7
"Could not determine where NuGet Package was created to. This
typically means that an error occurred while NuGet.exe was packing
it..."
Things I tried:
updating all Nuget packages to most recent version
deleting the solution and pulling it down from git again
Restoring Nuget packages ("All packages are already installed and there is nothing to restore")
Are there still some bugs in Visual Studio 2017, or do I need to update something with Nuget?
At C:\Repos...\MyProject_CreateNewNuGetPackage\DoNotModify\New-NuGetPackage.ps1:1206 char:7
"Could not determine where NuGet Package was created to. This typically means that an error occurred while NuGet.exe was packing it..."
According to the error log, you can check the NuGetPackage.ps1 file, you will noticed that the parameter of $ProjectFilePath or $NuSpecFilePath is needed.
Besides, in the Visual Studio 2017 release note:
MSBuild support for .NET Core projects, with a simplified csproj
project format that makes it easier to edit by hand, without the need
to unload the project.
And in Visual Studio 2017, the NuGet 4.0 will be shipped as a part of Visual Studio. So when you have custom build task in the your project, you need to check the NuGet version and the parameter of ProjectFilePath or NuSpecFilePath.
If above could not help you, you can share your project file to us, we will follow it up.
Hope this can help you.
I have Visual Studio 2012 Premium, and I installed System.Data.SQLite (x86/x64) by NuGet Packages API. I added all available SQLLite References to my WPF x86 Net 4.0 project.
I would like to create an entity model from existing db but there is a problem.
In server explorer I want to add connection but SQLLite does not exist in the Data source.
I tried uninstalling the SQLlite version which I installed manually before, and then reinstalling nuget SQLlite but it still is not working.
I looked over similar topics on Stack Overflow but none helped me out.
I just updated my project to MVC 5.1 from MVC 5. The main web.config file got updated automatically, but web.configs under main View and Areas folders weren't changed. I suspect that's why now I lost both intellisense and resharper support for my actions, controllers and areas.
Does anyone know correct web.config content for MVC 5.1 Views? Just replacing 3.0.0.0 to 3.1.0.0 and 5.0.0.0 -> 5.1.0.0 did not solve the issue.
It happens in both Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 Professional.
Found a solution from this MS article:
MVC 5.1 Tooling Support and Razor IntelliSense are Still Broken Even
After Installing VS2013 Update 1 RC
Known issue:
If a VS2013 user installed “Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools 2013.1 for
Visual Studio 2013” before they install VS2013 Update 1 RC, they won’t
be able to get MVC 5.1 tooling support that comes with VS2013 Update 1
RC.
Symptom:
MVC 5.1 tooling support and Razor IntelliSense are still broken even
after installing VS2013 Update 1 RC.
Workaround:
From "Add/Remove Program", uninstall "Microsoft ASP.NET and Web
Tools 2013.1 for Visual Studio 2013"
Repair VS2013 RTM
Install VS2013 update 1 RC if you have not yet installed it. If you have
already installed this, you don’t need to reinstall or repair it.
From Web PI, reinstall Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools 2013.1 for
Visual Studio 2013 or repair Azure SDK 2.2.
Update NuGet Packages
Steps:
Select TOOLS –> NuGet Package Manager –> Package Manager Console. This opens the Package Manager Console pane.
In command prompt, type Update-Package and press Enter.
This command will update the MVC files and activate the intellisense again.
Well if you update to ASP.NET MVC 5.1 RTM without updating Visual Studio 2013, you will not get Visual Studio editor support for syntax highlighting while editing the Razor views. You will need to update Visual Studio 2013 to get this support.
So it is not directly connected with IntelliSense or Resharper. But anyway I would try to update VS13 to VS13 Update 1
Update NuGet Packages in Package Manager Console.
Verify the current version of System.web.MVC and update it in the Views/Web.config file and also verify the version in Web.config of Root folder.
I'm developing on a Winodws 7 x86 machine in Visual Studio 2012 using .NET 4.5. I installed the x86/x64 System.Data.SQLite official Nuget package for my project. But I still don't see it as an option in the Data Source\Data Provider selections in the "Choose data source" dialog. I saw this answer here and it looks like this is all I should have to do (SQLite 1.0.82.0 (latest) in Visual Studio 2012 not showing in Designer Data Source). Am I missing something?
Thanks!
This package worked for me.
Apparently
"This setup package is capable of installing the design-time
components for Visual Studio 2012."
means
"This setup package is required for installing the design-time
components for Visual Studio 2012."
I just wanted to add this as a followup because I was having issues seeing the designer in VS2012 as well and it may help others in the future.
After multiple attempts at installing the designer and not seeing it show up, I ran
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe /setup
This will force VS to rebuild its registry based on all of the installed packages. This will take a couple of minutes. Afterwards, I was able to start up VS 2012 and see the entry.
I am curious whether the installer executes this command at all or if it just triggers it but does not wait for it to finish. At which point the end user opens VS 2012 before the command has time to finish.
I want to use Sqlite Provider which has Linq with Entity Framework feature. But i could not find Sqlite installer which is compatible with VS 2012. I tried to install it from http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlite-dotnet2/files/ but it doesnt get intergrated with VS 2012. I installed SQLite for Windows Runtime too. But that also didnt help. I am not able to find provider while creating ADO.net entity model. Please let me know is there any Sqlite provider available for VS 2012.
Thanks in advance.
