I am experiencing the following (strange) bug:
When my site is seen on iPhone 4 (haven't tested on 5), an extra "Search web" bar appears when scrolling up and down. It slows down the browsing dramatically. It happens on both Safari and Chrome. It doesn't happen on other sites on the same device (so it is not a problem with the phone itself or its browse).
I cannot find any similar reports on the internet.
Has anybody seen something like this?
Could you have a look at my site www.justrunlah.com and check if something is wrong?
Can you even reproduce it?

thanks a lot in advance
Try hiding the search bar within your website (header-search) and see if the problem still exists (just to test to see if its your own searchbar that's causing the problem).
It was some sneaky code added by a plug-in.
More specifically: Sweet Captcha used a code connected to Errnio to monetize
I removed the plug in and it's gone

I have absolutely no idea why, but on 2 websites (2 websites that I professionnaly work on, and they havent been hacked or compromised), my Chrome console keeps clearing every 500ms.
Which is pretty annoying.
I desactivated all extensions. Tried private browsing. It's the same thing.
I uninstalled chrome as well as my extensions. Same.
When I try to reproduce it on someone else's computer, I cannot.
When I use another Chrome session the issue does not happen.
I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of this or what is the exact cause of the issue.
The code running is :
setInterval(function(){console.clear();console.info('Console was cleared by browser extension.');},500);
Since I unfortunately do not seem to find the reason, my only question will be : would there be a way to desactivate that code or postpone the setinveral to a bigger number?
Thanks !
In Chrome, on the developer tools, click on the settings icon, and tick the the "Preserve Log" option so the console is not cleared.
If your websites happen to be ecommerce (Magento specially) I'll advice you to check your code well for unknown js. This is one of the "symptoms" of the Magecart credit card skimmer. Preserve log option
I'm having an issue with my website http://www.ben-drury.co.uk/ (I know the content sounds dumb, but it's my first attempt at a portfolio and it's not finished) where the formatting of the text is very peculiar under a specific set of circumstances.
When loading any post or page in Google Chrome, if I remain in the tab for the duration of the loading it looks like the image below, which is perfect and exactly what I want.
However if I start loading the webpage in a new tab and don't instantly navigate to that new tab, or indeed if I refresh the page and navigate away from the tab, when I come back it looks like the image below.
Interestingly it seems to work absolutely fine in Internet Explorer and Firefox, so initially I thought that it might be an issue with my installation of Google Chrome. However testing it on other computers resulted in the same thing happening, and a variety of different ways of phrasing the issue has turned up very little.
So essentially, how do I fix it for Google Chrome users?
(For those that cannot see the images, the text in the post placed as an example runs outside of the box it should be displayed in and often lines appear over the top of each other around hyper links.)
Update:
I've managed to fix the issue for pages by removing the justified alignment of the text. However I have made said change to the posts as well yet the problem persists for them.
So after a little more delving into the issue, I came to the conclusion that not only was the idea of web safe fonts actually a load of miss-represented nonsense, but that Google fonts might be the way to go. After installing a plugin for Google fonts onto WordPress and making all my posts use one by default, my problem has been entirely resolved and I can even have justified text on my posts and pages.
I am at a loss with why one page on a site that just went live is misbehaving on iPhone (and possibly others at 320 to 480 px wide.
I have used various simulators that have never let me down before (screenfly & iphone5 simulator) plus I have tested the responsiveness using browser resize and for some reason none of these methods can replicate the issue so I cannot find a way to correct the problem. I have cleared my cache and tried from a different phone.
The Problem:
Visit (site removed) from a phone and notice that this is the only page on the website that does not fill the devices screen. Visit any other page and you will see that the rest all fill the page normally.
If someone can point me in a direction to reproduce the problem (not on a phone) where I can access developer tools I should be able to correct the problem on my own.
I have tried reviewing my code to see what is different about that page in comparison to every other page and cannot find what appears to be causing the problem.
Some help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
In Google Chrome on Phone it's ok!
Check your settings about responsive and specific browsers settings in CSS..
Good Luck, please give photo from Phone.
Okay, I found the issue. Was able to find a div element with in the contact form that had a fixed width and although the content within the form was properly set the div was pushing the entire page over.
I have built a website(asp.net): http://avior-ins.co.il/
I can view the site on my computer(I have checked Firefox, safari, chrome and explorer and everything's OK), but the customer says that the CSS seems to be defective when he use iPad.
I don't own an iPad/iPhone, but I don't see any problem when I use my android phone(Motorola droid razr). I have also checked the site http://ipadpeek.com/, which is supposed to be a kind of iPad emulator and I don't see any problem.
Will you please check the site from Ipad and tell me what can cause the bug?
Thanks from advance!
In case you run into too much trouble developing a one-size-fits-all web page, you can have an ipad version of the page and then use detect/redirect strategy.

This fellow has a few nice approaches to that already worked-out.
Thank you all for the help. The real problem was an tag with text-indent -9999px.
It was placed on the site's menu and when I removed it, I looked ok.
I've noticed a strange behavior in two different sites when using IE8.
The first site is in the site that I maintain xebra.com.
The second site is google analytics.
The behavior is that when an address is typed directly into the address bar of IE8, both sites display correctly,
But when one of the sites has already been loaded, and you press the refresh button or F5 key, the layout gets all screwed up:
See screenshots here: here
Something is causing IE8 to render in 'quirks mode' which causes the breakage.
You can duplicate this by browsing to your site in IE8 and selecting Tools > Developer Tools > Document Mode > Quirks Mode.
Make sure your document is always being served in standards mode.
EDIT My original answer had 'compatability mode' where it should have read 'quirks mode' - the two are different.
JS.Companion was what was causing this odd bug, and not IE8. Phew!

I spent the whole morning trying to figure out what was going on, I removed companion.js and bingo my site is perfect! thanks for this.
That's really strange. I don't have the problem on my computer with Companion.JS installed and http://www.xebra.com/ web page (under Vista SP1).
I would be happyto correct the Companion.JS bug that generates this problem if you can provide more information about the problem.
