I'm trying to set a local connection to a database using Monetdb.R, but for some reason it is not working. I'm using the latest version of monetdb (MonetDB5 64 bits "Jan2014-SP3", 2014-07-25 release) in a Windows 7.
Here it is a short reproducible example:

I am not sure wether this is the right place for this question, but I've upgraded my R from 3.6.3 to 4.2.2 and my experience has been that the 4.2.2 version is way slower than the older one in some cases. Is this really an issue with R 4.x compared to R 3.6.x or do I need to adjust anything on my setup?

In some ways this is a continuation of this older post, R packages with Rcpp and nloptr.
Mostly, this solution proved temporary, for several reasons, some minor, but mostly I am working to prefect this project for a cran submission and this remains the last hurdle.
That said, I attempted and failed to get this example running https://github.com/jyypma/nloptr/issues/39.
The error here is "..../sourceCpp_2.so Reason: image not found"
After, this I made a test package with nlopt installed into the 'inst' folder and 'makevars' and 'makevars.win' in the 'src' along with the test example from above.
This package is now on GitHub: https://github.com/shortyatz/Nlopt-and-Rcpp.
And gives me a similar error message to the one above.

I have a big problem
I update R to the latest version.
After updating, every time i try to plot something with whatsoever kind of graphic function( even with the basic plot) i get this error

I've been using the ReporteRs package to generate MS Word documents from R. Due to some Java problems, I tried the officer package as well. Ever since I installed officer, I am unable to load the ReporteRs package:

I've tried deleting all three packages (both using pacman::p_delete() and by physically deleting the folders from my library) and reinstalling.
If I install all three packages, the error message is:
Error : object ‘ph_from_xml_at’ is not exported by 'namespace:officer'
Warning: Error in : package or namespace load failed for ‘ReporteRs’
I can't even find where this function is called from in ReporteRs or ReporteRsjars and I'm completely at loss as to how to go back to what worked.

I've tried both using my (usual) microsoft R version, on which ReporteRs has worked before, and regular R 3.4.

I am using the latest stable release of R (3.2.0) with RStudio (0.98.1103) on Mac OS 10.10.3.
When calling getURL from the RCurl package RStudio terminates with a fatal error.
This does not happen when using R from the command line, only in RStudio.

Checking the output of sessionInfo(), system.file(), and .libPaths() after library("RCurl") does indeed lead me to believe I am using the same version of R and RCurl in both scenarios.
