"Things to do around here" Map - wordpress

i'm currently trying to find the best way to create a simple and elegant "things to do in the area" map. I did such a thing before in a webapp myself with leaflet/backbone, however i thought there might be a wordpress plugin for this that i can use? Googling didn't really bring something up for me, the directory listings i found would probably be quite of an overkill...Does anyone have an idea or experience with building something like that? I will be forever thankful for any pointers and hints. Cheers and love

This is one of the many options that are available in Wordpress's plugin directory. All those plugins are open source so you can change them as you wish.

Use a bootstrap theme with blogdown

I currently have a website which was created using the rmarkdown default site generator. I used a bootstrap theme and I like the look of it and I am familiar with it. I am wanting to change the site over to a blogdown website, but do not want to change the look. I know it is possible to use a bootstrap theme with blogdown/hugo, but I have not found very much information on how this can be done. I am very new to website development, so my understanding is very basic. I do know that there is not just a simple answer to this. I am more looking for suggestions for how I should go about this, or resources that I might be able to use in order to accomplish this goal. If you are interested in seeing the site it is https://jamescuster.github.io/
To anybody that is interested in this, I found this blog post which helps turn any existing static website to hugo. I haven't completely gotten it all figured out, but it seems to working well so far and with a little tweaking I think I will be able to turn the bootstrap theme into a hugo theme.
I would still be interested to hear additional solutions.

Learning management system for/in Drupal

So the idea is simple. I need a learning management system for drupal. Whateve it's a extension or module.
I tried to google it and reached opigno. But it will totally take way to much time to fix it's styles out for 21 century. And also, it's pretty useless. Makes to much problems.
I'd be grateful to any one who will give me any idea!
Thanks,
Kind Regards.
I searched for a school management system module but no result,
If you are not bound to use drupal you may find many plugins in wordpress for the title you mentioned.
you can view the following as an example:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/learnpress/
or this one:

and if you forced to find something for drupal I didn't find with my previous search.

Drupal Twig conversion... tpl.php to html.twig I don´t undertand a point in the tutorial

I´m getting crazy with drupal... yesterday was my first day and I´m alone in this problem... I´m following this tutorial: https://www.drupal.org/node/2025313
Problem... I did everything and I guess that by the moment everything is ok. I´m reading, and reading... the 3 step, it say this:
Place your new Twig template in the templates folder in the stark theme (in the sandbox):
for functions that came from specific module, stark/templates/comment, etc
for functions that came from theme.inc, stark/templates/theme.inc
for functions that came from form.inc, stark/templates/form.inc
I dont get anything... can some help me with this?
What is the sandbox? My Drupal´s control panel?
Functions that came from... WTF? I have a script with 1500 lines of code... (I´m not sure, but more than 1000, my html.twig...) I think this tutorial is for people with a lot experience in Drupal (I don´t have that experience) and maybe somethings like this could be easy or simple to people that works with drupal everythay...
I just need get what is the "stark theme", "the sandbox"...functions from there? ... I´m sure I dont´get something simple... =(
Thanks to everyone could help me.

Add Additional Fields when Creating a Post within Wordpress Dashboard

All,
I'm trying to create additional fields and I've done a little research on this already and found that you should use the add_meta_box().
However, I looked at the wordpress Codex but I'm not sure where I should implement this. Here is the link to that:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_meta_box
I'm not sure which file I need to alter to add a simple text box. Can someone point me in the right direction to what file to update and what is a good way to go about doing this?
Ideally, I'd like to save this into a table. Is it better to create a custom table for this for upgrades of Wordpress? If you have any pointers on how to save the data that would be great as well!
Thanks so much for any advice you might have! I appreciate it!
You can also use this plugin.
this is easy to use.

Using wordpress as an article directory - what plugins/themes to use?

Anybody using wordpress as an article directory? I don't have time to customize it, so if anybody has done it or using any plugin/theme could you point me to it?
Also, is there any alternative script for article directories?
You can use article directory plugin + theme (optional, you can always build your own theme)
Plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/article-directory/
Theme: http://articlesss.com/article-directory-wordpress-theme/
WordPress does this right out of the box. Article Directory... Blog... it's all the same. Figure out your topics/categories and file your posts/articles accordingly. Happy content publishing.
I spent some time looking for a decent directory script for WP myself and never really found anything that was better than merely average.
Your question finally got me motivated enough to make a big list of them, so I made a big post on my blog today with a heap of link index / article site scripts.
Surprisingly I found a pretty decent article/directory solution for wordpress when I was nearly finished. That being said, after looking at dozens and dozens of link/article scripts today, I think there's betters solutions than WP if you're serious about that sort of site.
WSN links, and the article script that same company makes would be my personal choice. The problem with those sorts of sites (compared to a personal blog) is that you're suddenly dealing with lots of other webmasters changing things around on you, so you've really got to have decent tools to check links and make sure it's all OK and what you linked to originally, otherwise you're going to lose surfers.
Hope that helps :)
If you wanna get Teasers or Excerpts on into any sidebars you can use the Category Posts Widget
The link building / article-directory site like adset.org
use the Userpro from codecanyon.net to handle all there member Signups/Login.
Then you can let people write posts direct in wordpress backend, and approve them or you can use a plugin like "Frontend Publishing Pro" also from codecanyon.net, and let users post from front end.
