Wordpress Page ID within Shortcode - wordpress

I am using a plugin called: InPost Gallery. I have added the shortcode to a template file but the shortcode needs the post ID to find the images related to the page. Is it possible to get the post id added to a shortcode in a template file?
This is what I have at the moment:
<?php echo do_shortcode("[inpost_nivo slide_width='600px' slide_height='auto' thumb_width='75' thumb_height='75' post_id="28" skin='light' transition_effect='random' transition_speed='600' autoslide='5000' control_nav='1' control_nav_thumbs='1' direction_nav='1' direction_nav_hide='0' controlNavThumbs='0' random_start='0' pause_on_hover='1' show_description='1' box_rows='4' box_cols='8' slices='15' start_slide='0' id='' random='0' group='0' show_in_popup='0' album_cover='' album_cover_width='200' album_cover_height='200' popup_width='800' popup_max_height='600' popup_title='Gallery' type='nivo'][/inpost_nivo]"); ?>
You can see the post_id is set to 28. This needs to change depending on the page currently being viewed.
If this is possible it would be a great help to hear your suggestions.
Many thanks

If it's within the loop, you can for example use:
<?php
// Display shortcode for current post:
$s = sprintf( '[inpost_nivo post_id="%d"]', get_the_ID() );
echo do_shortcode( $s );
?>
You could also try to skip the post_id attribute, and see if it has the same default setup.

Show content before main content based on color attribute

I found a code snippet to display the content before the main content and it worked.
Currently the content is displayed on all pages. (except shop page)
The code :
add_action( 'woocommerce_before_main_content', 'BannerShop', 35 );
function BannerShop(){
if(!is_shop()){
echo '<img src="https://localhost/demosite/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/512x356.png" >';
}
}
What I want to ask is, how to display content only for color attribute products in the form of links.
Example :
The display (content) will ONLY SHOW when the url is like this :
mysite.com/color/red/
Sorry if the explanation is not good because I don't really understand this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thank you
I understand your question is about displaying that extra content, if the current query is for a product archive page only showing products of a certain attribute 'color'.
Each WooCommerce attribute is an independent taxonomy.
WordPress's is_tax('parameter') function checks, if the query is for an existing custom taxonomy archive page (other than category & tag) & if the query is for that specific taxonomy 'parameter', in your case 'color'.
So, this code snippet in your functions.php or equivalent plugin should work:
add_action( 'woocommerce_before_main_content', 'BannerShop', 35 );
function BannerShop(){
(is_tax('color')) {
echo '<img src="https://localhost/demosite/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/512x356.png" >';
}
}
Though, to make the above template WooCommerce override work, declare WooCommerce support for your theme by adding the following lines to your functions.php or plugin equivalent:
function theme_add_woocommerce_support() {
add_theme_support( 'woocommerce' );
}
add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'theme_add_woocommerce_support' );

Wordpress Shortcode for keywords?

So, I know you can put:
function page_title_sc( ){
return get_the_title();
}
add_shortcode( 'page_title', 'page_title_sc' );
Into function.php to fetch the page title and get a [page_title] shortcode within Wordpress, but is it possible to do exactly that for keywords?
I put a focus keyword down in Yoast SEO and I would like to have a shortcode for that.
Or another idea: is there a way to have a custom shortcode field in every page? So that I only have to put something into that once and can use it as a shortcode within the whole page?
If you want a shortcode for Yoast to output the keyphrase automatically:
function wpso_61018203_output_yoast_keyphrase() {
// Make sure Yoast is installed/active.
if ( class_exists( 'WPSEO_Meta' ) ) :
// Hold the global post object.
global $post;
return WPSEO_Meta::get_value( 'focuskw', $post->ID );
endif;
}
add_shortcode('yoast_kw', 'wpso_61018203_output_yoast_keyphrase' );
You can then do this ['yoast_kw'] in your content, or use echo do_shortcode('[yoast_kw]'); in your template.
Use get_post_meta and grab _yoast_wpseo_focuskw:
function page_focus_keyword( ){
return get_post_meta(get_the_ID(), '_yoast_wpseo_focuskw');
}
add_shortcode( 'focus_keyword', 'page_focus_keyword' );
WordPress filters all content to make sure that no one uses posts and page content to insert malicious code in the database. This means that you can write basic HTML in your posts, but you cannot write PHP code.
And you want to use Wordpress shortcode for focus keyword.
Possible solution given on Wordpress.org Yoast SEO plugin support query on similar query, and checkout the linked solution
insert the below php snippet in functions.php
if(!function_exists('wpseoFocusKW'))
{
function wpseoFocusKW()
{
$focuskw = wpseo_get_value('focuskw', $post->ID);
echo $focuskw;
}
}
And to use the shortcode in another page for focused keyword, insert the below shortcode in any pages with yoast-seo plugin :
Shortcode for focus keyword
[<?php wpseoFocusKW();?>]

Wordpress shortcodes not working on posts but wornikg on pages

When I use shortcode on page works good but on posts is displayed only shortcode name.
Example shortcode:
function foobar_func( $atts ){
return "foo and bar";
}
add_shortcode( 'foobar', 'foobar_func' );
Usage:
[foobar]
On page is displayed
foo and bar
but on post only
[foobar]
I tryied on basic theme like TwentySeventenn and the problem still exists.
It's very strange. So you added the above code to TwentySeventenn theme's functions.php, but it does not work on post? Please double check you write [foobar] correctly on your post content file.
Or if you changed something on the theme, please check you used the_content() instead of echo get_the_content();
shortcodes are not working if you use get_the_content();

WordPress: How to pass “Blog pages show at most” value into shortcode inside a template

I’m using Ajax Load More plugin inside a custom WordPress theme by inserting a shortcode into my index.php template.
<?php echo do_shortcode('[ajax_load_more post_type="post" posts_per_page="10" offset="10" pause="true" scroll="false"]'); }?>
Is there a way to get the value of “Blog pages show at most” from Settings/Reading and pass it into the shortcode to automatically update its posts_per_page and offset values when “Blog pages show at most” value is changed inside the dashboard?
I figured it out, so I'll post it here if anyone else ever needs it.
$default_posts_per_page = get_option( 'posts_per_page' );
gets the number of posts set inside Settings/Reading.
Then simply add the variable into shortcode:
echo do_shortcode('[ajax_load_more post_type="post" posts_per_page="'.$default_posts_per_page.'" offset="'.$default_posts_per_page.'" pause="true" scroll="false"]');

Visual Composer Grid with do_action shortcode is not working

I have visual composer which is packed with total theme. When I put the following grid short code in my page in the editor it works correctly.
[vc_basic_grid post_type="post_type" max_items="10" item="masonryGrid_SlideFromLeft" grid_id="vc_gid:1458178666639-80ebf3775500c87d35de078c3422fe96-10" taxonomies="555"]
However, when I call the exact same code using do_action it gives the following javascript error. I checked the html output and it is the same using do_action like putting the short code in editor.
Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: {'status':'Nothing found'}
s
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Well, you can't output contents directly in your templates by using core shortcodes of VC like that.
1. Problem:
For security, besides nonce, VC uses page_id and shortcode_id to check AJAX request/respond data.
The shortcode_id is automatically generated by VC, you can not harcode it.
For example, this is the shortcode you see on admin editor screen:
[vc_basic_grid post_type="post_type" max_items="10" item="masonryGrid_SlideFromLeft" grid_id="vc_gid:1458178666639-80ebf3775500c87d35de078c3422fe96-10" taxonomies="555"]
Let say the page ID is 4269, this is the generated HTML code on front-end:
<!-- vc_grid start -->
<div class="vc_grid-container-wrapper vc_clearfix">
<div class="vc_grid-container vc_clearfix wpb_content_element vc_masonry_grid" data-initial-loading-animation="zoomIn" data-vc-grid-settings="{"page_id":4269,"style":"all-masonry","action":"vc_get_vc_grid_data","shortcode_id":"1458178666639-80ebf3775500c87d35de078c3422fe96-10","tag":"vc_masonry_grid"}" data-vc-request="http://example.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php" data-vc-post-id="4269" data-vc-public-nonce="0641473b09">
</div>
</div>
<!-- vc_grid end -->
Now, if page_id and shortcode_id don't match each other, {'status':'Nothing found - $shorcode_id'} will be throw out and no contents will be displayed.
You can find out more inside vc_grid.min.js file.
2. Solution:
Generate a fake page with VC, then copy generated html code to your template file.
Create a template with VC directly.
Use Shorcode Mapper to create your own shorcode.
First you build a new page and add a grid post on it,
then we get
_vc_post_settings
post meta , and try to build a new one
then update post meta data
now we can by pass VC Ajax security check
in the following code "1513628284966-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1" is VC generated guid
you should change it to yours .
$meta = get_post_meta(1365,'_vc_post_settings');
$settings = array();
#$settings['vc_grid_id'] = $meta[0]['vc_grid_id'];
$key = random_int(1513628284966,9513628284966);
$settings['vc_grid_id']['shortcodes'][''.$key.'-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1'] = $meta[0]['vc_grid_id']['shortcodes']['1513628284966-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1'];
$settings['vc_grid_id']['shortcodes'][''.$key.'-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1']['atts']['custom_query'] = "tag=shop";
$settings['vc_grid_id']['shortcodes'][''.$key.'-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1']['atts']['grid_id'] = ''.$key.'-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1';
$n = add_post_meta(1365,'_vc_post_settings',$settings);
return do_shortcode("[vc_basic_grid post_type=\"custom\" show_filter=\"yes\" filter_style=\"dropdown\" item=\"5959\" grid_id=\"vc_gid:".$key."-37b8c3ca-d8ec-1\" filter_source=\"post_tag\" custom_query='tag=".$tag."']");
I've solved.
I had the same problems, with the Visual Composer Editor offered by WpBakery
https://wpbakery.com/
and after understanding the connection between the IDs of the block, and the ID of the Post, I put more attention to the settings of the Block.
There is infact one field called "Element ID", and here we have to put our ID of the Post we are editing.
In my case the Block was a block containing some Posts.
After saving, and viewing the page without the Editor, I was finally able to see the block, and not the message
{"status":"Nothing found"}
I found a solution to this problem.
I modified the woocommerce category template and linked to the woocommerce_archive_description hook to add additional descriptions from some pages, for this I got their id, and then display the content.
echo do_shortcode($post->post_content);
The gallery(media grid) didn't work because there was a mismatch between the page id and the shortcode id. Therefore, the logical solution was to redefine the global variable $post to the $post of the page from which I get the content.
global $post;
$post = get_post( $id );
And it turns out that the post id matches.
After that, don't forget to return the normal $post value;
wp_reset_postdata();
By the way - use this option to load custom styles for wpbakery elements.
echo '<style type="text/css" data-type="vc_shortcodes-custom-css">' . get_post_meta( $id, '_wpb_shortcodes_custom_css', true ) . '</style>';
The whole code
function extra_product_category_desc(){
if( is_product_category() ){
$id = get_term_meta (get_queried_object()->term_id, 'pageId', true);
if($id !== ''){
global $post;
$post = get_post( $id );
echo do_shortcode($post->post_content);
echo '<style type="text/css" data-type="vc_shortcodes-custom-css">' . get_post_meta( $id, '_wpb_shortcodes_custom_css', true ) . '</style>';
wp_reset_postdata();
}
}
}
add_action( 'woocommerce_archive_description', 'extra_product_category_desc', 11 );
You may also try with do_shortcode('');
Like
do_shortcode('[vc_basic_grid post_type="post_type" max_items="10" item="masonryGrid_SlideFromLeft" grid_id="vc_gid:1458178666639-80ebf3775500c87d35de078c3422fe96-10" taxonomies="555"]');
