I'm a beginner in arduino. I just installed Arudino IDE (arduino-1.0.5-r2-windows) but when I try to run its not responding and crashes after few minutes.
I tried re-installing it and removing the temporary files but none of those helped.
Can anyone tell me what causes this problem and how to debug it?
Installing Arduino 1.5.6 solved the issue.

I am trying to compile the basic blink sketch in the Arduino IDE, however anytime I try to compile the sketch, I get this error:
"C:\Users\MY PC\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\Intel\tools\arduino101load\2.0.1/arduino101load" -c "-from=\"C:\Users\MY" "PC\AppData\Local\Temp\arduino_build_712395/Fade.ino.elf\"" "-to=\"C:\Users\MY" "PC\AppData\Local\Temp\arduino_build_712395/../arduino101_sketch.debug.elf\""
ERROR: need -from and -to arguments
Any suggestions of how to fix this?
Thanks.
Found the problem, I don't think the curie core installed correctly initially, so I removed it and reinstalled it.
When I tried to use pyinstaller to package my pysnmp based code to exe file, I met the same problem as described in PyInstaller does NOT work when including Pysnmp
However, after I changed the spec file as suggested, I got another error:
Error loading Python DLL 'C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp_MEI124682\python36.dll'.
LoadLibrary: The specified module could not be found.
I'm using windows 10, Python3.6.4-32bit
I'm very confused, can anybody tell me where could be the problem and how can I solve it?
Thank you in advance.
Today it finally works. I used a 32-bit python 3.6.4 before, now I downloaded a 64-bit python 3.6.4, and it works, although I don't know why. My windows is 64-bit.
in addition to coutingstar's above answer if nothing seems to work out for this issue uninstall and reinstall the version of python that matches your os version and then try the same steps.
I have recently switch to Macbook and got some troubles with ESP8266 programming via ArduinoIDE. As far as I know my USB-TTL converter is basen on PL2303 series. I have already tried this solution:
http://hpclab.blogspot.com/2015/06/esp8266-arduino-ide-on-mac-os-x.html
But I have just downloaded files and went with sudo python setup.py install so I got my files in /usr/local/bin. Then I changed the platform.txt as written at blog and as result I got:

I would be really glad if anyone of you could help me with that.
Best regards.

whats the problem? please help!
I was using VIBER application(cousin of SKYPE) when it stopped working.
I re-start my PC (it's installed only on my PC win7-kaspersky) but it doesn't work anymore.
The shortcut points to C:\Users\pardis\AppData\Local\Viber where i have:
launcher.db
Viber.exe
Viber.exe.log
ViberUpdater.log
ViberUpdater.cmd
a lot of Qt*.dll files
when i click on viber.exe nothing happens(the program doesn't open-nor it's process) but just Viber.exe.log is updated with this message:
1|<> :0 => QObject::startTimer: Timers can only be used with threads
started with QThread
Any idea what should i do to make it work again? thanks
Find Viber's installation folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Viber on Windows 8), navigate to the folder with the name of the latest downloaded version (5.1.1.15 in my case), and run ViberSetup.exe. This should update it to the latest version, keeping your data and resolving the issue.
Had the same problem, including the text from log file. I updated the program to the latest version and it started working again, it should work for you too.
Unfortunately the version that stopped working is the latest version. When I try to reinstall, it simply says: you already have Viber installed.
I guess the only answer is to completely uninstall Viber and then reinstall a fresh version. I found a site with all recent versions. So I could reinstall and update without losing any settings or syncs.
